in bottle: whoa. This smells like black-blue-green mucky water with anise. holy weirdness, batman! on skin: anise, watery dirty spicy anise. not hating this... but do I like it? yes, yes I do. the anise stays with me the whole time, but it doesn't dominate, which is good. dark spicy earthiness with a bitter edge and slight anise-y water overtones. brown-black, blue, green with an edge of purple. It's totally weird and I like it. I'll have to try it again, but yeah, liking it. This scent is just amazingly complex and my mind boggles everytime I open the imp.

mmmmmmmmmmandarin and earthy, sensual fig. stays for about three hours and a bit and makes me happy the whole damn time. very exotic, oriental, delicious, uplifting but grounding. lovely and a little lusty, too. I don't usually like fruity scents, but this very much rocked my wee foxy world.

Smells like wet, floral earth. Vaguely headache-inducing (some floral combos do that to me)... but not yet. Don't know if I like it, but I definitely don't hate it. Getting steamy now. Very hothousey. Mmmm... moist moss. Now watery with moss overhead. (after about an hour or so) Yup, this is moist and mossy. I like it!

In Vial: warm, dry, with an almost astringent note On Skin: warm and dry over moist mossy earth; earthen home with a fire burning in the hearth... November leaves piling up just outside the front door, but I'm cozy inside with woolen socks and rugs on terracotta-tiled floors. Long-lasting. Definitely a winner for me. It just exudes dry warmth and coziness. A perfect autumnal-verging on winter scent. p.s. someone else here mentioned that this smells like a non-fruity Nemesis. I smelled this before I smelled Nemesis and thought of Nemesis that it smelled like a fruity Omen!

Oki, I've looked at ALL 18.2 pages in this wonderfully evil thread (my to-try list has grown considerably!), but I've seen no mention of Dance of Death, which is one of my bestest favouritest scents! It smells like crushed dry November leaves with powdered bone sprinkled over top just for good measure. Omen (and Nemesis, kinda sorta) comes close -- they have the warmth but not that dryness that I lust after. Any other ideas? Anyone tried Spirits of the Dead or Dragon's Bone for comparison with Dance of Death?

in bottle light and lemony on skin light yellow and green. springy. calming and lifting, like morning sunshine. dew evaporating on gently warming grass. dry down green is getting a little heavier after 5-10 minutes Ew. It went all powdery. Like a vaguely lemony old lady's underthings drawer. [...] hrm. The moss is becoming more prominent, but the powder's still there. Boo. after 30 minutes still light, bit mossy, turning old, stale, and tinged with decayed brown. much much later powdery old lady dust. Meh. Pas pour moi. *looks over other reviews and, oh, the actual scent description* I didn't really find this scent all that masculine. I think it's the lavender that does it in. To me, lavender is Old Lady -- think Miss Havisham from Great Expectations -- definitely not something I want my guy to smell like. BUT! With a different body chemistry, e.g. someone Not Me, it could work pretty well, I think. I agree with Lynxie. We'll try it on the boy. Muahahahaha!!

In bottle: Pine-Sol meets Lemon Pledge! But in a healthy, natural sort of way. On skin: piney with a bit of citrus. Woodier undertones are coming to the fore. Niiice. After 10 minutes: mmm, it's all dark and foresty, deep green and shadowed brown. After 30 minutes: pine is gone. all that's left is something vaguely sweetish powdery incense. Meh. Colour me unimpressed. I give it a C. It starts out all edgy pine, but it fades too quickly and turns into something not so good.

In the bottle: Very complex. Brain says, "Good, good, yes... wait. No. There's something... meh in there." Wet on skin: Still complex... *looks at description* aaahhhh, yes. Rosemary. You are baneful annoyance on my skin, it's a shame you shine so brightly. But my sinuses are clear now, so there's a plus. *wince* Dry on skin: the rosemary is turning almost medicinal. grar. After 10 minutes: the rosemary has faded and the scent has become fruity. I guess that would be the tamarind and fig working at odds with me. Yech. Nephilim is a no-go for this fox.

Though I feel very close to Anubis the deity, Anubis the scent is not working well for me. It smells fine enough: warm, neither moist nor dry, and vaguely herby. But there is a spicy sweetness that just won't go away. It's probably cinnamon and honey, which I know were used in Egyptian embalming. Too bad I don't like those scents on my own skin. Phooey. This is the second time I've tried it, and with it, a second disappointment. I want to like it SO BADLY, and it's just not working. I was hoping for something a bit darker and drier. I think this suits Anubis' line of work more than how I perceive Him. Argh.

In bottle: dark, dry, and resinous -- definitely attention-getting for me. On skin: much the same as in bottle. Very Complex. Like a foresty church with a teeeeeeeeny hint of round, mellowy sweetness. Gods, I keep sniffing my arm, it smells SO GOOD! Dry down: heaviness fades a fair bit and the sweetness comes more to the fore. It's all light and kinda herbally now, which isn't so great. I'm gonna have to try this one a couple more times to make sure I like it enough to get a 10ml, but it's got serious potential for long-term happy-making, if I can figure out how to make the richness last longer.
