    Who are the authorized resellers?

Thanks for clarifying! I was going by the information posted when those scents were announced, and I couldn't find any update on that. Are they available at Dark Delicacies, too? Who are the authorized resellers?

Only if it was one of the original retailers that those specific Salons were created for, and I don't think it was. ETA: The retail only Salons are only for purchase from Healthy Living Market in Sourth Burlington VT, Le Pink in Los Angeles, and Whole Foods in Roswell GA.

Not in California! We are the exception.

    Who are the authorized resellers?

I have basically the same question. Where in So Cal can I find retail salons? I'm going to bat's day and figured I should stop by somewhere while I'm down there . . . I thought there was a whole foods down there somewhere that had them, but I'm also sure there's more than one in all of LA. Thanks for any help, and sorry if I'm missing the obvious. I can only answer for Dark Delicacies - they have all of the general catalogue and SOME limited edition stock (not the most recent update) and the Dark Delicacies exclusives but NO retail only Salons, because those were only for Le Pink. Anyone interested in specific retail only Salons should call and speak to someone at Le Pink directly, because someone mentioned them not having stock of all of those bottles anymore, so if you want 'em, let the store know! As far as I know, there are no Whole Foods stockists in California, so the CA places to buy Black Phoenix products would be Dark Delicacies and Le Pink. Hope that helps!

    Elf v4

I can see the comparisons to Antique Lace, but to me, this is a much more floral vanilla - Madagascar vanilla - with white musk and a jot of sugar. It doesn't have a lot of throw, and has medium wear length but it's very pretty and feminine.

    Paladin v3

When I first smelled this in the bottle, I had an immediate UGH reaction because, although I love leather, this is practically leather single note and it's *strong* when it's wet. On my skin, after about 20 minutes it warms up into a beautiful soft and mellow leather with a hint of sweetness (as opposed to that strong brand new hide smell), which I know I can layer with other scents any time.

    Victorian Rose Milk v1

First off, rose is a note that very rarely ever works on me, because my skin either turns it to 'old lady fake rose perfume' or dry and dusty. I was so surprised by how beautiful Victorian Rose Milk turned out to be! I don't get milk from it at all - to me, this smells like a luxurious lady's body cream with just a delicate touch of a full, pink rose. The lack of other flower notes there stops it from being OMGFLORAL, but the rose allows it to be ultimately feminine. Very pretty and ladylike.

    SAQQARA v2

I'll have to agree with everything Midnight Aeval said, EXCEPT for the pine part - I definitely get resins, but pine is an absolute death note for me, and this is gorgeous, so I find it hard to believe that there's any present. This is reminiscent of the Lamia and Osiris prototypes, and in the same family as Mr. Jacquel, all of which are scents I LOVE. But while it's similar, this has an extra spice in there, either cardamom or clove that really makes it truly beautiful and outstanding. Rich, warm spices and resin, clove and vanilla. Sexy, sex-ay! Medium throw, medium wear length, and absolutely gorgeous.

Once an order is placed, it is final.

You can email them, and include the transaction ID# but I wouldn't start worrying if you don't hear back from them. It most likely means they did get your address after all.

    Harigata II

How are people not going batshit crazy over this? I briefly sniffed it in the bottle before I got it home, and although it was lovely, I got mostly coconut. Once I skin tested it, I could pick out hazelnut and something that gave it a little depth, which I'm guessing was anise although it didn't have the 'OMFGANISELIKEWHOA' effect that it usually does for me. Not a fan of anise. Anyway, it ended up being a creamy, musky dark coconut scent with medium throw and plenty of sexiness.

    The Black Swan

Water lily, peony, seaweed absolute, lotus, Spanish moss, violet leaf, and marine accord. I initially passed on this one because I'm not a fan of 'marine accord' generally. The Black Swan reminded me that with BPAL, you can't always make a judgement on a scent just because of the list of notes - you have to try it first! This didn't smell like I thought it would at all; I was expecting something much milder and insipid. The notes that stand out for me are the peony, Spanish moss and violet leaf, and the overall scent is a *dark* marine scent.. it's what I thought Black Moon would smell like, and didn't. I imagine it as a dark, rich green. Though I don't like aquatics, this almost won me over because it's sophisticated and smelled more botanical than I expected. If you're open to those types of scent, definitely try a dab of The Black Swan.

    The Elephantine Colossus

I asked a sweet person to pick up a bottle of this for me from NYCC, but was immediately wary of the mentions of root beer and popcorn in the reviews from those at the Con. This is a richly smoky, creamy vanilla with sweet musk and root beer foam. Delicious, and so much better than I was expecting! It does bring Snake Oil to mind just a touch, but it's distinctly different.

    Blue Pumpkin Floss

I've skin tested this twice, and I'm reading through this review thread just shaking my head. Candy floss? Blackberry juice? No! Oh, and since I'm probably one of the biggest lovers of Pumpkin King ever, let me just say that this doesn't have anything at ALL in common with that scent. No. All I get from this is spices and cinnamon. Not even any pumpkin, which I found surprising since the prototype for this oil was a fresher, soft pumpkin with a touch of sugared fruit. This was a big ol' disappointment on me, and will be headed straight to the 'get the hell out of here' pile.

    White Pumpkin Extrait

Pumpkin and vanilla, with a tiny dash of spices. Really nice!

    Odd Portents

Odd Portents reminds me a lot of Scorpio 2004. The rose and lavender should be wrecking it for me, though, and instead they're just blending in with everything else to make a sweet, rich incense.

    Blue Pumpkin Floss v3

Interesting to read the other reviews. I'll start off by saying that I just don't like pumpkin scents on the whole and the only one I've ever loved was Pumpkin King. So.. I expected to hate Blue Pumpkin Floss right off the bat, and I was very pleasantly surprised. What I got out of it was a sweet, smooth pumpkin (not pumpkin pie, which I detest) with something delicious and lightly sugared in there that reminded me of Midway. If you like foody, gourmand scents or have a thing for pumpkin, this is definitely one to try.

    Strawberry Moon v4

I have the original Strawberry Moon as well as the 2009 version, and I wondered which version the prototype would be like - the answer is neither! I hadn't planned on buying this, but it's so juicy and sweet that I could resist it. It's rich red berries with a touch of amber. Gorgeous.

    PS: Iron Parasol v1

I got an unremarkable sweet fruit with an edge of metal. Very little throw, and it disappeared completely on my skin within 10 minutes. Meh.

    Snow White v2

I'm a big fan of the released versions of Snow White - for me, it's a floral that reminds me strongly of trumpet lilies with a touch of vanilla), and though this prototype is very different it's easy to see why it would have fit the concept. I get sweet, delicate vanilla with just a hint of a light floral and a chilly breath of mint. It's actually extremely pretty, even if it wasn't at all what I was expecting.

    Butter Arsenic

I got zero butter or anything chemical from this! I have no idea what is is, but it's a smooth, dark 'poison', but there's something slightly resinous about it and on the whole, it's a good smell. Very interesting and unique.

    Parlor House

    Strawberries and musk. Delicious!

    Gothabilly

In my late teens, I had a nasty run in with a bottle of cherry liqueur and never felt the same way about the smell since. I thought for sure that Gothabilly was going to be all strong, boozy cherry and nothing else. Wrong. In the bottle, I smell cherries and a smooth liqueur but it's not that sickly cherry flavor if that makes any sense. I don't particularly pick out the black vanilla or Egyptian musk as dominant notes wet, but the overall effect after 5 minutes on my skin is so smooth and soft that the cherry has definitely taken a back seat. Lovely.

    Banned in Boston

I could swear there's leather in this! I guess it's the tobacco, playing tricks with my nose. I don't get a chemical smell from this in the bottle, but it did smell dark and almost fruity. There's no fruit here! The overall effect 10 minutes into the drydown is smooth tobacco smoke, a dribble of dark liquor and a tiny bit of chocolate. On me, this is a very fast fader and it's gone within 15-20. Shame.

    Tony

In the bottle and wet, this smells strongly of classic soap and dryer sheets with a touch of something kinda cologney - (kinda like those giant tubs of green hair gel my brother used to use in high school). Dried down, Tony is very different. It ends up smelling like warm cotton sheets, fresh from the dryer and redolent with that clean, 'dryer sheet' smell with a touch of something that warms it up and stops it from being a straight up fresh or clean blend. Because I usually *hate* those scents, but the overall effect of this is really goooood. I would love to have a linen spray that smells like this. And I would give it to every single male friend I have, because dammit, they need it.

    The Volstead Act

To me, this is sherry with a dash of something fruity and syrupy. It's an interesting blend, and one which manages to be sweet and dark at the same time once it's dried down. Might be a little too boozy for me, but it's fun nonetheless! To me, this is sherry with a dash of something fruity and syrupy.
