  1. The pure and luminous joy of dawning love: white melon, oakmoss, bergamot, apple blossom, Italian mandarin, Florentine iris, nutmeg, and white musk. I'd love to write a long, thoughtful review that properly reflects how much I flove this scent, but it smells like melon Hi-Chews, kind of. Of course, it's more balanced and smells like FANCY Hi-Chews, but that gives you the basic idea. This is so damn pretty, and if you like fruit in scents at all, you have to try this.
  2. HALLOWEEN: NEW ORLEANS The distinctive scent of the Mississippi at night mingling with sweet olive and Spanish moss. This is simply beautiful, botanical and fragrant and to my nose it's a sweet Spanish moss. It's somehow very definitely a FALL scent, and couldn't be confused with any other season. Unique, lovely and has decent staying power.

    Eldrich Dark Bath Oil

The Miskatonic Valley's premiere sex shop. Black and red musks with honey, leather, and sugared black rose. The Eldritch Dark has a base that's very reminiscent of Snake Oil, with soft leather and a touch of rose. Sexy as HELL.

    Victoriana.Goth

VICTORIANA.GOTH English rose, lilac, frankincense, violet leaf, French lavender, and wisteria encased in amber and splashed lightly with a ghastly garden herb tincture. This is surprisingly pretty for a blend made from three of my dealbreaker notes. Rose usually turns dusty and decidedly old-ladyish on me, but this time it stays fresh and slightly sweet. Maybe that's because of the lilac and amber notes? No, what makes this a no-go for me is the lavender which is very nice here (even though I cannot stand lavender) but it adds a dryness that I always, always amp. I am *this* close to being able to wear this, because the lilac and amber balance out the dryness but I can still pick out the dreaded lavender. Bah. Floral fans really ought to try this one!

    Beaver Moon 2013

This scent is GENIUS, and although I wasn't sure I was going to even try it, I'm so glad I did. Because this is unexpectedly one of my favorite BPAL scents ever. Maybe I've just worn too many vanilla based scents because now smelling like a cupcake is kinda 'meh'. I need something more special, more unique, something that makes you do a double take or feel like you *have* to keep huffing. This scent is it. It started out in the bottle as a very rich lemon cheesecake with the tiniest hint of thyme, but it lightened up as it dried down into a creamy cheesecake with light lemon - very reminiscent of lemon meringue, but no, it's definitely cheesecake, right down to the graham cracker crumbs. My skin has been eating up oil recently and most scents have vanished within an hour or two, but this one stuck around all day. It was so beautiful, not too heavy but strong enough to be clearly detectable. Not so sweet as to be sickly. Just gorgeousness.
  6. Unspeakable HORROR and SHOCKING supernatural space SEX! Can they find MARITAL BLISS on EARTH? A blend of blood-soaked daemonorops, black amber, dark musk, glistening leather, caraway, smoky myrrh, cinnamon, and clove that is glowing with a luminescent, space-addled coating of clary sage, lemon balm, white grapefruit rind, mandarin, green melon, and white musk. This blend doesn't smell like anything special in the bottle, but I'm happy to say that once applied, it became something more beautiful than I ever could have guessed given the listed notes. I was expecting something cool and citrus, but the ingredients are skillfully blended to create something that manages to be dark and somehow clean at the same time. When it first dried, it smelled soap-and-water clean, but about thirty minutes in, the dark musk, white musk, black amber and smoky myrrh come into play and the prettiness took on a smoky, slightly creamy, sexy edge that make it a truly exceptional scent. The wear length and throw are good, too - three hours later, it's going strong and only getting better. Of the two B movie exclusives, this is my favorite, hands down. Gorgeous!

    Serotine Bat

Wet, this was a very understated, low key vanilla with a bit of fruity sweetness to it. After about 10 minutes, it seemed more golden (maybe the amber and saffron coming out) and I could only detect the smallest amount of freesia in the background, which I really liked because it stopped Serotine Bat from being just a simple vanilla. This is so much prettier than I expected, and I really love it. It wears close to the skin, but it hung on and was detectable for 6 hours after application.

    Mopsfledermaus

On initial application, Mopsfledermaus is in your face clove, cardamom and ginger, which surprised me. I think I expected something softer and was a little worried, but after wearing it for 10 minutes or so, the most dominant notes really mellowed out and it dried down into a very warm, fuzzy brown scent.

    Luxuria Bath Oil

Lust's passion will be served; it demands, it militates, it tyrannizes. -- the Marquis de Sade Red musk, patchouli, pomegranate, red currant, bourbon vanilla, nutmeg, sweet orange. As the de Sade quote might indicate, this is a very lusty scent. When I first added a little to my bathwater, the only notes I could pick out initially were the red musk, bourbon vanilla and red fruits. It did morph a little, darkening and ripening into something richer and sultry with a little help from the patchouli. This definitely smells and feels like a luxurious indulgence.
  10. It's too bad that you're not including LE's - Black Temple Burlesque Troupe and Gelt 2012 are amazing chocolate scents.

    Beaver Moon 2012

It's my policy to always buy every Beaver Moon and Beaver Moon resurrection, so I was thrilled to get this one even though I didn't read the description so I had no clue about the apples. As a general rule, BPAL apple scents dry down with a decidedly sour edge on me (stupid body chemistry), but the cinnamon saves the day here making this a surprisingly realistic apple cheesecake fragrance. Juicy and delicious.

    Charisma

I wore this to meet with a person I was VERY nervous about meeting, and although it didn't seem to help me to feel any less jittery or any more charming, it did seem to have quite an effect on how this person perceived *me*. In fact.. the end result makes me wish I could wear Charisma all the time.

Similar to Any Tom Ford Perfumes?

I much prefer it to Tobacco Vanille, I agree.

Similar to Any Tom Ford Perfumes?

I've tried quite a few of the Tom Ford scents, although my favorites so far are White Suede and Musk Pure. My recommendations aren't the same, by any stretch, but if you like Amber Absolute you might want to try Sri Lanka and Mr. Jacquel. For Noir de Noir, maybe The Orchard? It's the only one as far as I know that would even be similar, but it's not as dark. For Oud Wood, I think the most similar is going to be The Magician from Gaiman's Cards from a Vampire Tarot - the listed notes are Burmese rosewood, olibanum, benzoin, turmeric, currant leaf, and oude. I'll take a look at the others later, when I'm not wrestling an aggravated toddler.

    Virgin’s Blood Bath Oil

Other reviewers have summed it up perfectly - light, sweet, creamy rose and very, very reminiscent of the Victorian Rose Milk v1 prototype. So pretty! It's the epitome of purity and innocence, and I'd love to have more of it.

    Great Vampire Bat

You can't judge this scent by the first hour of wear, that's for sure. I put this on my left wrist and almost immediately got a slightly bitter aquatic floral scent with a distinct, powerful ozone quality to it. So nasty, and so not my type of scent. I kept sniffing it and it stayed pretty true until close to an hour in when it morphed to a ridiculously awesome, smokey, heady and exotic, slightly sweet incense. Seriously sexy. How the hell did it do that?

    Candlelight Atmosphere Spray

I get zero smoke from this, but lots of thick honey and cream. Very pretty!

    Scent for Halloween?

I'm wearing Pink Moon 2012, because I smell like Easter should - clouds of pink spun sugar with ribbons of white chocolate.

    Pink Moon 2012

Ha! I just had the opposite experience to the reviewer above - I usually hate white chocolate, and yet it's what sets this scent apart from other Pink Moons and pretty much all other pink scents for me. Somehow, the white chocolate smells more 'white' than 'chocolate' and just gives a fluffy, light, creamy quality to the scent that manages to perfectly balance out the sweetness of the phlox, carnation and other pink florals and smoothing out the candy quality so I smell pretty, pink, edible sugar cloud instead of like a sugar crack house. I've been a fan of most of the Pink Moons since Lunacies first started, but this one is one of my absolute favorites.

    Oak King v4

Oak King is one of those scents that I just wasn't sure about at first sniff, but my experiences with BPAL have taught me that sometimes the biggest winners for me are the blends that seem a little *too* something in the bottle, because my body chemistry morphs them. This one is a definite win! At first sniff in the bottle, I get a mixture of something that smells like wood and leaves (duh, oak) with something a little darker lurking in the background. On my skin, the first 30 minutes of this scent were all warm solid wood, nut and notes that I somehow interpreted as cardamom (or some kind of spice that managed to remind me of Spanked) and a touch of good patchouli (I say this because patchouli and I don't always get along). And maybe some kind of musk but nothing obvious and that's only a guess. With Oak King, the dry down is really worth waiting for and I'm SO glad I took a chance on this. I'm torn between wanting to rub it on my wrists and huff my arms, or rub it on the mister and.. do other things. I can't describe it! It manages to be fragrant, slightly masculine, and yet doesn't smell cologne-y at all. It's hard to detect after 2 hours, but it's wonderful while it lasts.

    Body, Remember

This is full of winning notes for me, so I shouldn't have been surprised by how gorgeous it turned out to be. It's a soft, rich coconut incense and sexy as hell. ETA: Except my husband says it smells "like the Eighties". What the hell?

    Lady in Speckled Pink Kimono

This is a light, creamy floral but the throw is almost non-existant on my super dry skin. Very pretty, feminine and perfect for spring.

BPAL for fancy, elegant and formal occasions

I would have gone with the Looking Glass, Looking Glass bath oil because it's *so* amazing and I've used it instead of perfume several times. I'm going to a big awards show in a few weeks and I'm going to wear it then, too.

    Pink Lace

Even on second testing, this still reminds me of a lighter, softer version of Pink Phoenix but with the faintest breath of rose. Definitely a pink scent, but one I can wear without feeling like it's too candied or too floral.

    Mourning Lace

On me, this is like the original Black Lace with a waft of cloves but much, much lighter in throw.
