  1. The keeper of secrets: opoponax, Tunisian black amber, night musk, antique patchouli, zdravetz, terebinth, myrrh, and Pimenta racemosa.

Well this is a little bit of heaven isn't it? Wish I had gotten, oh I don't know 10 bottles maybe? This to me is strong and complex, and lovely. I do not find the patchouli to be super overpowering, nor is anything else over whelming. heaven I say.

  2. Wow. This starts off butterscotch for me, but that is just a five minute intro, then it's cinnamon, but a sophisticated cinnamon caramel with a bit of fruit and wood? Lovely. It is what a previous poster said, foody without being too foody.

Very livable, like a comfortable velvet sofa. Strong though, but in a good way.

This one lasts and lasts and lasts, the longest of any BPAL I have worn, and in my short time here, that's a lot (helps to have enabling friends). The only thing that came close to this staying power is Agape for me.

I love this. Love. I hope she/he comes back when the Carnival rolls into town again.

  3. Well, number one has to be the Mad Hatter, as it is wonderful and minty, and I do not want to be bug dinner.

Second is Ya Te Vo, for refreshing green-ness.

Third, is L'Heure Verte and Absinthe, very light and refreshing.

And Bat of Wealth, also nice and light, and cherry.

I just ordered some "summery" scents, Cloister Graveyard in the Snow (for cool mintyness), The Caterpillar for what VelvetSky said, and Josie.

  4. I am so glad I got a frimp of this, because from the meh reviews I would prolly not have ordered a big bottle, however I LOVE this. And did just order the BB as I need something green, and this is heavenly on me. I am too unsophisticated to pick out many individual notes yet, but I do get eucalyptus or something that smells like it to me, it is uplifting and a good "wake up!" summer scent for me.

Edit * I still love this, and it is a great blending scent with roses or other florals.

  5. Just reading through this thread as I woke up yesterday wanting only green things. These are the three I have tried, and I ended up ordering the Ya Te Vo which despite some meh reviews is fantastic and green on me.

Robin Goodfellow (almost too boy for me but still nice and lush green)

    Jabberwocky (Holy Christmas Tree Batman)

Ya Te Vo (The winner so far)

  6. This is really perfect on me. It starts out as vanilla frosting, for about 30 seconds, and then it turns into the most wonderful cherry, not a nasty or candy cherry, like the most wonderful cherry thing ever, then it is rich and wonderful like Red lace, I know it doesn't smell the same, but it has the same rich feeling. This is now at the top of the Big Bottle List.

  7. Boomslang is awesome. Also Hellcat. When I first opened the imp I thought "eep! What the cupcake!" and slammed it shut, but I tested it tonight and found it to be lovely. And red-musky as well. not a twin of Red Lace, but a similar feeling.

OK, so looking up the ingredients of Hellcat, I don't see Red Musk, which I thought was there as it is also in the amazing Luxuria bath oil. hmmm, I wonder what that is then that I love so much...

  8. Never fails, I take a shower, douse myself with some BPAL, and I hear my daughter calling to me at the very minute I put the bottle back in the cabinet "Mommy! You got a package!" Sigh.

So I tried this one, but I have to retry later, as it was lovely, but quite faint. Still lovely though, and the sugar note is not too YOU ARE FOOD NOW.

Note from more than a year and a half later, this one is really so good, there are some days when I just have to have it, although I have not gone through the whole bottle yet, it's still a great "burnt sugar" scent. Not too sweet, not too girly.

  9. Holy Moly.

    Best Snake Ever.

Delicious. The chocolate stays only for a bit, and leaves a most heavenly version of Snake Oil. It did remind me of Shalimar, which is OK by me. Shalimar is a perfume I have loved my entire life and can't wear, as it makes my skin break out in red welts. yeech.

  10. An effervescent blend of crystalline champagne notes and sweet strawberry.

    Lesse les bon temps rolle.
Bon Vivant is very fun. Fruity, strawberry, and actually a tickly note (champagne, duh)
I like this one, doesn't stay too long though...

  11. Gosh I love this, another hit for me from The District. I am not getting any wood at all yet, but gorgeous flowers and faint nectarine. This is a real lady blend, I almost love it as much as Zarita the Doll Girl. almost.

Edit * There is something sharp in here that I can't put my finger on, the same feeling as the sharpness of a leather note. It's not at all unpleasant, it just adds depth IMO. Might be the honeysuckle. This is one of my favorite BPALs, it's sophisticated without being stodgy. It's really a perfect scent for anytime as well. I don't get the Chanel no.5 feeling at all, although I do love Chanel no.5.

Also I don't get rose from it. It stays pretty consistent, not a morpher, and has great lasting power. I also don't find it overwhelming or aggressive, rather just perfect, not too strong, not too faint.

  12. This is the best stuff, it's wonderful minty herby freshness, and I am not bug dinner any more! I love this, I wish I had a Hudson Sprayer full of it, for now just my puny imp, soon to be followed by the Big Bottle.
