gosh I really love this. It's like the most perfect evocative patchouli, without being cheap or simple. Absolutely mouth watering and gorgeous.

I was just thinking today that I hope Perilous Parlor comes back. I have The Vine, it's lovely

Dry patchouli and white sandalwood oozing with lesions of labdanum, wet red cherry, and opoponax. This one is super strange, but some how very wearable. First of all, the oil is a very dark grey. Looks like motor oil. It's heavy and complex, but approachable. I have been wearing this everyday since I got it. That is all.

It's funny I never reviewed this, because out of the zillion or so gingerbread things I have, this one is the favorite. It's not so sweet to me, it's sort of a dry spicey thing. Fancy indeed.

Let me just say that La Befana was the Yule I was most excited about. I had a decant from last year but did not get a bottle, somehow I overlooked the decant, and it was so lovely. I got my bottle ripped out of the package, applied and was ???? what the heck? Fortunately, I left it a few days waited, now ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, there's that heavenly violet thing... This is so beautiful. I am obsessed, it's sweet violet candy.

Well, this may age into the dark apple thing that I thought it would be, but for now it's a beautiful high pitched appley thing, delicious and fresh. I want more of the patchouli/champaca thing which is mostly in the background for now. Unlike the above poster this one absolutely poufs on me, but it's AMAZING in a scent locket. It's absolutely mouth watering. The other day I went out to walk my dogs bundled in coat, scarves etc., and thought, wow what is that amazing scent? Is it on my scarf? The neighbors looking out the windows may have thought, oh there goes that nut again, she's always sniffing herself... but I could not locate it on my clothes and then ding, it hit me, it's my scent locket with Apple III that is buried about four layers deep! I love this one. And to think apple used to be one of my "death notes". Thank you Beth for basically eliminating the need to ever type the words "death note " again

This one always smelled very medicinal to me wet, but today I tried a very ancient imp and wow the dry down was all beautiful honey and musk. I usually am a huge cinammon fan so I am glad I gave this one another shot. I may have to buy a bottle and age it!

Why do scents turn to baby powder on me?!

The only thing that went very powdery on me was The Lion. -
That's one of my husband's favorites, for himself that is! He however does tend to go for more "flowery " things than you would suspect. One night he wore Raven Moon to bed...it smelled just amazing on him. I tend to go for more "manly" things so I guess we even out. Lady Death smells gorgeous on him btw. It's a beautiful perfume.

Overall impressions : Winning... yes. Marshmallow. Vanilla. Is good.

agreed, this is not a sharp wintery thing like The Shivering Boy, but a sweeter nice snowy thing. I get something fruity. I like this one a lot, I can surely see wearing it in the hot weather.

I know they are BTP, but how about the Pumpkins of the Apocalypse hair glosses? Bow and Crown of Conquest is just awesome IMO,

Help! Gift Card Paralysis! What should I get?

The Rose is an amazing choice if you love Rose Red and Peacock Queen -
Before I sadly drained the bottle I used to love Stormclouds Over the Midway. It smelled just like rain. I like the "aquatics" and watery things, Halloween at Innsmuth (sp?) with it's fishy incense is a good one.

Ooh this is gorgeous. And very fancy. It's patchouli, but not the dirty hippie kind, the fancy perfumed kind. And the vetiver behaves. It's lush. And gorgeous.

The perfected winter rose, dew covered and freshly cut. So. I never could wear Rose Red as a perfume oil. There is something in it that mixes with my skin chemistry and turns bad. I lose that sweet rose top note, and am left with despair. I ordered Rose Red HG hoping that the top note would stay, and was not disappointed. I now have the perfect HG for all my rosy needs. Rose Red is beautiful, and very strong. Rose lovers, buy this, hoard it. It is lovely.

Well, this is 100 percent Boy Juice, no unisex here. I deemed it Awful, and gave it to my son. Smells very good on him. Pass for me.

this is sweet, rainsiny, and delicious, I love it. Definitely a deep winter comfort scent, so much more beautiful than I had imagined.
-
This is so incredibly evocative and beautiful, and the incense is that perfect incense, I can hardly imagine a scent more lovely.

Not for me. Nasty. Smells like red pickles. No no no. and I'm back, three months later. Now it smells really nice, like red wine and wood. I like it. How strange. It's even mouth watering, sort of like Obsidian Widow or Mason and Jenkins Port Wine Jelly.

OK I may be way off the mark here, but this to me is like a cousin of Tombeur. So very lovely. Unisex. Buying it.

I dunno, clearly I am not living in the same world with the above posters, but then again, Black Phoenix is one of my favorites. Cherry and I get along famously. I like this version better than the previous incarnation, the verbena is more of a back note whereas in the older version it was more up front. This is dark and gorgeous. It's reminding me of Bat of Wealth, and is going right to the top of the Short List.

Beautiful beautiful, jasmine, with violets. It's like Beth was inside my head... 157 stars. It's like a classic BPAL jasmine turned up to eleven.
-
Bittersweet chocolate with a heavy cream undertone. omgosh this is so beautiful...I had to stop myself from running to the machine and ordering 57 bottles but oh my. Lovely. Starts out candy and morphs into something smokey and dark, but still lovely.

This is really good. Really lush. Sort of yes, delicate as the above poster put it, but still very lush. And strangely comforting.
