    Siren

On wet it's very sweet and innocent, with a slight musk. Then whoa! Pizza sauce! Um yeah yuck. I don't know what note it is that morphs into pizza sauce on me but it would not go away. I waited a while too and nope the pizza smell stuck. If it had only stayed the way it smelled when wet, I think it would be quite nice. Too bad. Off to the swap pile it goes.

    O

O, O, O.... What can I say about O? Perhaps I should bow down on my knees with my hands tied behind my back in tribute? Yep I read The Story of O, a couple of years ago when I was a innocent and fragile (yeah right) 15. It's odd because O to me is a very dominating scent. In the sense that it's powerful and very much a center of attention type of scent. It begs to be complimented and noticed. Not really what I would expect for a scent that is somewhat in honor sexual submission and slavery. But then again, I'm not quite sure what scent would be fitting. And in it's own unique way, it does bring to mind a beautiful submissive at the mercy or her Dom/Master. In the end it doesn't matter because O is a fantastic, beautiful scent that beckons one's sexuality to the surface. Close enough to fitting for me. Like Snake Oil, it's powerful and warm with an intense heat. It also has great staying power. It's a little strong when first applied but it comes down nicely into a warm vanilla scent. Needless to say I have ordered a 5ml. I couldn't resist.

    Danse Macabre

Very woods-y. Reminds me of walking through the woods at night just after it's rained. Nice but a tad too masculine for me. I think I would really like this one on a man because it doesn't smell too much like your average men's cologne, which I generally don't like. If I had a boyfriend, this would be the scent I'd want on him.

    The Unicorn

A frimp from the lab. The Unicorn is a nice and crisp, lightly fruity floral. Quite lovely but nothing wonderful. I would like it a lot if I smelled it on someone else. It also didn't have too much lasting power on me. I liked it but it's not big bottle worthy. And I'm not even sure if I'll keep the imp, I may try to swap it. I can't help but think that for someone else, this could be the perfect scent. But just not for me.

    Lolita

Hmm... Well I think OMFG covers it! I adore this scent. Wow! I had been looking forward to testing it and it fulfilled all my expectations and more. Wet: Floral powder? Definitely not what I was expecting. Drydown: Ah, that's MUCH better. Honeysuckle and red lollipops. Yep this is Lolita. Mmm... It took a couple of minutes for it to come out but once the "true" scent did, it was great. It also has really good lasting power. I put this one on a couple of hours before I went to bed and I could still smell it pretty well when I woke up in the morning. The only perfume I've found that lasts that long on me is Snake Oil. I got a 5ml and the 5ml smelled slightly different than the imp. Not bad different but not good different either, just different. It was a little sharper and more orange than the imp. I still love it but this was my first experience with a bottle differing like that from the imp.

    Undertow

There is definitely an overwhelming smell of mint in the bottle and on wet. But it's not a creamy foody mint, more of a refreshing and cool mint like you would find in breath mints or gum rather than cookies and cakes. The strong mint doesn't last long though. Drydown is all fruity goodness with just a background hint of mint (teehee). It's a bit bubblegummy but in a good way. An extremly light and childish scent. This is one to save for those days when you're heading off to a theme park or a shopping spree. It's just fun. Not the least bit dark, like I was expecting. It reminds me of Eris, not in scent but in the way it makes me feel. Lighthearted and giddy. I rather like Undertow and I think I might eventually have to get a big bottle.

    Queen of Sheba

Ok what's the deal? I didn't get any of the good almond and honey smells when applied. All I got was a bitter vanilla mixed with pepper and medicine type of smell. And the drydown is all baby powder. I think it's safe to say that this one just doesn't agree with me. Because this doesn't smell a thing like others have described. It's not sweet at all. Well just darn! Oh well, you win some and you lose some. I guess this one is going to be swapped again. Queen of Sheba and me obviously don't mix.

    Vice

I just received this one off a swap yesterday. That is definitely orange! No denying it. In the vial and on wet, it's a very spicey orange. Smells like something you might would find in an exotic dessert. On drydown, the chocolate comes out and it gets sweeter. But it's still mostly orange. I like Vice. It reminds me a lot of a body spray I got from Bath and Body works a couple of years ago. I don't know if it's big bottle worthy, I'll have to try it out some more. But I'm definitely at least finishing the imp. Vice would make a great candle and room scent. If only I knew how to make candles, I think I would buy a big bottle just for that purpose. One of these days I'm going to get a kit.

    Neo-Tokyo

I bought a Neo-Tokyo imp from a board member about two months ago. I tried it once, and for whatever reason, that day the imp had almost no lasting effect on me. So I put it off to the side and didn't think about it again. That was until about a week ago, I got a frimp of it in one of my lab orders. It reminded that I already had an imp. So I got the old imp and decided to test it again. And I loved it! Maybe my chemistry was funky that first day. But the second test was great. Another floral that I love. I've found that I either really dig florals and they settle nicely (Has No Hanna) or they're just too overpowering and I can't take them for a long time (Muse). Neo-Tokyo goes in the first category. Like most florals, it starts off really strong but give it a couple of minutes and the drydown is just lovely. Very crisp and clean. All floral. The only time I even smell a hint of fruitiness is hours after I first applied and it's almost faded away, then it's a sweeter fruity scent. It's definitely the anime/manga version of Tokyo. Futeristic with a spice of fantasy and magic to go around. I just ordered a 5ml. This is a scent that I could wear every day. It's a "me" scent. Neo-Tokyo gets two thumbs up.

    Yerevan

Another frimp from the lab. I think this is the first scent I've tried that smells exactly the same in the bottle and when on my skin. Yerevan is wonderful. I think I'm in love. It's a sugary musk of flowers with a hint of plum. Slightly girly but more classic and timeless than fun and youthful. I've liked every plum scent I've tried so far I think. I do believe plum agrees with me. And this one is going on my big bottle list.

    Muse

A light, invigorating floral and citrus blend. Tuberose, lotus and jasmine with a hint of lime. I got this one as a frimp. A nice feminine floral scent but it turned out to be a little too strong for me. I didn't get any sweetness at all, it was really sharp. Pretty, but I've got Has No Hanna if I want a sharp floral. I didn't exactly dislike Muse but I wasn't crazy about it either. I think if it were a little more toned down on my skin then I might like it but it just doesn't work for me.

    Freak Show

Delicious! This was my first real foody scent to try. I love it. In the bottle it's all chocolate with a hint of fruit. But when dry the lemon definitely starts to come out. Normally I don't like the smell of lemon but it works well in this. I'm not disappointed at all. Well maybe a little but only because I didn't order two bottles instead of one. Freak Show is a winner with me.

    Dana O'Shee

I want to cry! This is such a great scent. I love the sweetness. It smells like a mix of almonds and cream soda. Unfortunately after 10 minutes there's only the faintest trace that it was ever there. If this had any lasting power on me, I have no doubt it would quickly become a new favorite but alas it just wasn't meant to be I guess.

    Bearded Lady

This is a very pretty scent. It is very feminine and all woman. Probably one of the more "frilly" scents I've tried. It's a spicy and sweet floral. Sophisticated yet it could still just be worn for a day to lounge around the house. When it dries, the scent reminds me a bit of the smell of Snake Oil hours after you first applied. It gets sweeter. Overall I've liked it. Nothing about it stands out too much but it's still a nice scent. If I had tried an imp of it then I probably wouldn't have bought the bottle but have just used up the imp. It was a neutral purchase. I like it but I could of done without buying it. 3 out of 5 stars.

    Sybaris

Medicine cabinet! This smells exactly like the one cabinet in my house that we keep all the medicine in. Blah. Sybaris (a frimp from my Bearded Lady order) is the first bpal scent that I've strongly disliked. Something in it doesn't agree with me at all. The overwhelming smell of medicine gave me a headache and I had to wash it off after about 25 minutes. The Raven, another violet scent didn't do this at all and I quite liked that one. So I can only think it's something else in the mix that doesn't agree with my chemistry.

    Snake Oil

It took me a couple of trials before I could make a final judgement but I've decided I quite love it. Snake Oil is a warm, oh-so hot scent. Slightly sweet, musky and a lot of something I can't identify. Oh and sexy, definitely sexy. And it must be said that out of all the scents I've tried yet, Snake Oil is the longest lasting. You can still smell this baby the day after. I got my first BPAL compliment wearing Snake Oil. Ok it was from my Grandmother but still counts. And I loved her reaction when I told her the name. She got this bewildered look on her face and said "It's made from Snake's?". She liked it so much, she wants a bottle eventually and I promised to get her an imp to test out. Edit: I got my second compliment wearing Snake Oil yesterday. I got into my sister's car and she goes "What's that smell?", and I was thinking "Great either I put too much on and it's overpowering or she hates it." She then asked me what I was wearing, I told her and asked why and she replied that it smelt really good and she thought maybe her husband had sprayed something in the car but no it was me. So yay! Although I'm not sure if that was her way of saying that I smell like a really good car freshener? Hehe.

    The Raven

I really ended up liking The Raven. I thought it would be one of the more dark and musky scents but actually it's quite light and refreshing on me. Even slightly sweet. Lovely. I can't decided if I want a big bottle now or not. On the one hand, I really do like it and could probably see myself wearing it often but on the other, I have others that I want more. So for right now it's in my "If I get some extra cash I'll buy a 5ml" category and not in my "Oh my God, I need a bottle of this right now" category. So it may be a couple of weeks or months until I order a 5ml, until then I'll enjoy my imp.

    Eris

I took a chance and bought a big bottle of this off of E-Bay and I don't regret it. In the bottle: Something about it really puts me off the smell in the bottle. If I went by that alone, I would hate it. It smells like make-up to me. On wet: Very nice. Starts off a little strong but settles. And I can agree to the watermelon smell mentioned. A lovely blend of fruits and florals. Drydown: As it fades it gets very sweet. Nice. This is a really fun and childish scent. But not in the bad way like only little girls would wear it. But it reminds me of my childhood and youth in general. This is the second BPAL scent I've gotten complimented on. My sister liked it a lot. Unfortunately when I got my bottle I accidentally knocked it over on my desk and a fourth of it got out . But thankfully I still have plenty left to last me for a while. And I do believe I'll get another on when it runs out.

    Love Me

This one is all cinnamon on me. I didn't get any of the cola smell others mentioned. It reminds me very strongly of those hot cinnamon hard candies in the red foil wrapping. It's a very nice scent, but definitely one only for "certain" moods. I can't see myself using this as an everyday perfume. So I don't think I'll be getting a big bottle but I'll probably use up all the imp. As for the Voodoo effects. Well my love life is non-existant at the moment so had no real testing opportunity. But in a month or so, I might have reason to try it out again for a special occasion.

    Blood Lotus

I have to say, I'm in love with this one! Mmm... So divine! Upon first sniff in the bottle, all I got was what spelled like a mixture of Bubblegum and Tobacco. Odd combination indeed. But both fade out after just a few minutes on. And then I don't even know how to describe the smell dry. Other than it's sweet and sexy. I didn't think it were possible for such a sweet smelling scent to be sexy, but it is! My next order (which unfortunately probably won't happen until Sept. ) is definitely including a big bottle of this. I can really see myself wearing this one often.

    Alice

Honestly, I wanted to love this one. I love Alice in Wonderland and from the notes, I did think I would like it. I don't know if it's my chemistry or what but the two times that I tried this one, all I got was the smell of Cabbage Patch Dolls. If you've ever had a Cabbage Patch Doll, then you know what I'm talking about. Not an unpleasant smell or anything but not exactly something I want to be smelling like either. But I swear Alice smells exactly like Cabbage Patch Dolls new out of the box. Not a keeper for me.

    Beltane 2005-06

I just received this (5ml) one today from an eBay purchase. I was a little worried that I woudn't like it but I must say, I had no cause for worry! This is a a heavenly floral. Very green and earthy. I'm loving it. I can see myself putting this on for lazy, hot days. It was worth my money and I'm very glad that I took a chance and got it.

    Regan

This was a very pretty and elegant scent. I could picture a gorgeous woman in a flowing white evening gown wearing this. While, I did like this one. Nothing really stood out for me. I don't think I'll be purchasing a big bottle. Lovely but just not me. But something to be said is that my mini-daschund absolutely loved this scent. He licked my wrists, I haven't gotten a reaction like that from him with any of the other scents.

    Megaera

I agree with whoever said fruit punch. That could be part of the reason why I'm so drawn to it, I loved fruit punch as a kid. The lab threw this imp in free with my first order. They guessed good because out of the 9 imps I got, this one turned out to be my second favorite. I can't stop smelling my wrists when it's on. I love the fruityness. The entire scent reminds me of the color red. It's a great flirty scent. All of the other imps that I've tried that were strongly fruity all seemed to go powdery on me but this one didn't. I plan on ordering a big bottle soon.

    Has No Hanna

I must say, I love this one! I was so surprised too. I only got an imp of it because I wanted to try one of the VooDoo blends. I actually don't like the smell of Has No Hanna in the bottle or on wet. It's very soapy and clean in bottle. So I was equally surprised when it dried down on me so well. It's a sharp floral, not a sweet one. It reminds me of breezy summer days for some reason. It just seems so me. I can't explain it. As for the VooDoo. Well I did test it out on a day I went to eat lunch with my Grandmother and afterwards she offered to take me shopping for something. So that was a surprise! Whether or not it had anything to do with the perfume oil or not, I don't know. But hey, who knows. I've just ordered a 5ml. I'm getting it for the scent but if more good luck comes along, I'll certainly take it.
