I third, fourth or fifth the recommendation for Dorian - that is my go-to scent for dreary days, or when I need comfort - it just makes me feel happier...I'm wearing it today, as its been stormy here all day.

Wow, is this one amazing. I also picked up a bottle in swaps after thumping my head against the wall for not ordering it initially. So, I slather it on, and whew! The florals nearly knock me out, and I'm not a floral lover....but after 20 minutes, the flowers take a back seat and the musk and spices and creaminess come up front. And I *love* it. I get a hint of the snake oil/noir family.....but, more than that - its like a smoother, gentler, creamier Lenore. And Lenore is among my top 5 scents....this one is a perfect scent for me, just right for the bridge between summer and autumn.

I just got my bottle in a swap, and I am *so* glad I did! This one takes me right back to my childhood, growing up on an overgrown xmas tree farm. I get a watery frostiness, backed strongly by aromatic firs. Its like one of those perfect 34 degree days in the forest, there's snow on the ground, and a crispness to the air...but with sunshine streaming through, starting to melt the snow on the boughs and releasing that wonderful fir smell. I'm in love with this one perhaps more than any other of the Yule scents. Its just so evocative of my childhood years spent with the trees.

Mmmmmm....this one was my most anticipated imp ever, I think. I just *knew* I'd like it, but it is even better on Turboman. A 5ml will be ordered! I love seeing how the scents differ with out chemistry. On me, I get the red musk and sandalwood, and a streak of that chaos that I can't quite pin down. On turboman, oh, I just want to ravage him. Its animalistic, deep forest and maybe a dribble of civet-like musk in there. Its really the best bpal on him yet!

Wow....its as if Beth crafted this one exactly for me...it is so beautiful on my skin, and just keeps morphing all day, I am so glad to have this one! The scent lasted a good 12 hours on me yesterday too! It starts wet as an acidic cassia, something earathy behind it. An hour later, the cassia has faded and the patchouli comes forward ever so slightly, so be nudged by a slight sweet plum....and then after a couple of hours....ahhhhhh, the red musk, which I so adore, and is married well here with the patchouli. This is one of those scents that feels exactly in tune with my body, and my idea of how I want to smell.

I'm late in joining the Dorian worshippers in the course of my BPAL addiction, but....I just got my bottle yesterday, previously unsniffed, and I think this is definitely in my top 5! Ooooh, it starts out with light tea and musk on me - so heavenly, but then two hours later, I sniffed my elbow - sugary lemon vanilla - its just warm and light, and so lovely. Now, six hours later, its dried down to a vanilla musk, which is just amazing. I'm in love. I want to slather myself and my man in it!

nineveh mentioned Lenore being the child of snake charmer and king of clubs - both are two of my favorites, and I can definitely see their presence here. In a word, I love Lenore upon first sniff of the bottle. Wet, I get the vetiver and patchouli pretty strong, a slight acridness from smoke. Drying down, the saffron bursts forth with lemon adding a lightness and warmth to the blend....3 hours later, I can't stop sniffing my wrist, and it finishes with just a hint of lemony vanilla. This is a very grown up scent, and I absolutely love it. This is a 2 bottle scent.

mmm.....smelling this I get the exact scent of these Japanese Muscat Grape gummies that I adore! On my skin, I can still smell the full roundness of the grape, but its underpinned by a lighter and brighter currant. Its very sweet, and juicy, but fades very quickly on my skin. While I really like it, I think this one is better suited for a sunny, warm day in June, than a cold bitter day in October.

AH, this one made me tear up a little bit this morning when I sniffed it. I *have* to get a bottle of this. It smells so similarly to a perfume that my second mom, Carol, wore, and she made her transition last year. The spicy orange-ness of this one is so like Carol, it makes me really happy to smell it. So I will wear this one in her honor, and love it for many a year. The bottle will be ordered on Monday!

Oh Beth! How you surprise me with the frimps! I will admit to being absolutely in love with the excolo scents, and nearly all of them are delightful on me. I was so excited to see this one in my order, as I love the anansi tales. So this one, on such a crisp fall day, just makes me happy happy. sniffing the imp - its acidic, acrid smoke... on my skin....fall liqufied, walking down the sidewalk with dry crackling leaves underfoot, something organic and green peeking through - moss? And then, oh, its a bonfire on a clear fullmoon night, smelling heavily of smoke and thyme. I truly adore this scent, would love to buy a bottle, and its just a divine fall scent.

Wow - am I ever happy to have this one today! I got this delivered at work on a most unsettling day. So I ran back to my office, closed the door, meditated for a few minutes on my intentions for the rest of the day, and applied Helping Hand. I felt held and uplifted by the mint in the scent, and there's a sharpness lying underneath, and I felt focused and refreshed after applying...the scent seems to work well on me, just lingering at the edges of my day. I lucked into a 5ml of this one on the forums, and had been keeping an eye out for a couple of weeks. I'll be bringing Helping Hand to my brother's wedding on friday (they're bpal addicts too), and have been coerced into a quasi-catholic wedding. I'll be writing a ritual up tonight, and hope to catch a few quiet moments before their ceremony to set up a few intentions for their special day and life together, and share Helping Hand with them. I can't wait to tell big bro that I have it for them! YAY!

Satyr is quite a surprise, and a sexy, heavy one at that! I would definitely like to try this on Turboman - his first taste of bpal! But on me, I do so adore it! I love heavy, sweaty masculine scents, and this one fits the bill perfectly! I feel a bit feral and wild, and smell of it too...this one is very strong, a dab'll do, and I imagine the imp will last me until I can get my hands on a bottle. Wet: definitely get the musky civet smell that others are getting, but undercut with the cinnamon scent. Dry: The civet is still there, but the throw is much more of a warm earth scent, if I sniff closely, I get the clove scent sweetening the blend. This one is definitely up for a big bottle order...

tes sent me this one, and wow...this is definitely high on my favorites list! As others have said, it smells like sharp, clean glass. More than that, I get the saltiness of the sea, the aquatic note....and 12 hours later, I can still smell its lovliness. There's a shy innocence about this one, its like the best smelling laundry, hung on a line in the sunshine on the sea shore. Beth is a magician indeed.

here's what I recently came up with - I went to the dollar store down the street and bought a little baggy of those plastic toothpicks - I can dip it in the oil with no contamination, and I have one pick rubber banded to each bottle. Not the most elegant, but it only cost me $1!

Anyone ever eat those Trolli gummy peach frogs or penguins...Depraved smells like that to me, and I have to say, I *love* it! Never would've thought fruit and patchouli go together, but this is divine. On such a lovely fall day as this, in the heart of the midwest, in the midst of peach and apricot season...this is exactly what I want to smell like! First whiff is sweet, with the grounding warmness of the patchouli, but its wearing nicely, settling in and warming up. Decent throw, and 6 hours later, I still catch hints of apricot as I move. I now want to go outside, and shuffle my feet in fallen leaves, and take a long walk.

AH, this one makes me so sad, as it just does not work on me, but the artwork of the blend is so divine! Out of the imp, I get BIG earthiness, with that sharp apple finish. I love the smell of this one, and maybe I'll use it for home fragrance. On me....oh, it all went so wrong. Both oak and apple really amp on me, and the two were really tussling, and it was giving me a bit of a headache. After an hour, it took on a sour note, like the subway on sunday morning, and at that point....I had to scrub it off. *sigh* I so love the fragrance of this one, but alas, it does not work on my skin.

I've enjoyed all three of the Zoryas now, and I had saved Vechernyaya for last, knowing that I do *love* white musk. I was not disappointed with this scent at all, and I do believe I'll be ordering a big bottle very soon. sniffing the imp: astringent, hints of earthy woodiness, with a sweet perfumey overlay. on my skin...This is truly lovely on me - I also smell the white musk as warmth, perhaps aided by the poppy, but it's the addition of the patchouli that really makes this one for me. The light warmth of the musk is met perfectly with a clean, moist earth. It makes me think of an August evening, the warm earth cooling as the sun sets, and dew begins to form on the grass, as the spiders begin to come out and spin their magical webs.

I could not wait to try the Zoryas, as I love the mythological trio and their individual aspects. This one is a very complex lovely, daytime scent on me. Light, minty at the start. Warming up on my skin, the violet slithers out, but very slowly, with a woody twist of the sandalwood appearing later. verdict: I like it, but not likely to wear it often...I like a scent with a little more weight.

Here's a question for ya'll: I'm flying from Chicago to Hartford in a couple of weeks for my brother's wedding. I've recently gotten my soon to be SIL hooked on BPAL, and I want to gift her with a few impies to play with on their honeymoon. Will BPAL make it through security ok? Or will they think I'm smuggling vials of drugs? We're only carrying on our bag, and aside from gifties...how can I last the weekend without precious bpal?
