I'm of two minds on this ... I adore teh presentation .. it's so completely unique, I love it! But .. if it's causing the stress, having to get all that tying and fraying done .. then I'm all for cutting out the stress in your life. I think the imps would look just as adorable with a cute little label affixed to them. Do whatever you need to Beth, you know we're behind you whatever you choose.

Oils to relax, calm, soothe, restore your sanity...

Brujah. I have no idea why, but this is, right now, my favorite scent to wear to bed. Might change when we get our additional order ... but for now, that's it. -
I can certainly agree with that idea as well. If it's just the little ties that are the main trouble .. give us the instructions, and we'll do it ourselves! I love DIY projects!
-
It's only inconvenient in that we all have to wait on the edge of our seets for our next 'fix' of your fabulous product Beth. I'm sure noone minds at all, and compeltely understands how busy you are.
-
Well, some people are attacking, but I refuse to get into a sniping contest. As for the idea, I do think it's a fabulous one. I'm just not certain if Beth wants that. Or even if she's had time to consider it. It soudns like she's been hellishly busy .. and the increase in orders probably isn't helping. Now I'd NEVER suggest we stop ordering (After all ... I have two pending orders myself!) But I do realize she's been busy, and it's hard to keep up with stuff when that happens. And rosefaith, yes I agree the problem is communication. But there is only so much one woman can do. If I were beth I'd be about ready to throw in the towel if I read all the complaining that's done, when most of the questions could be answered by just reading the FAQ.

That I can defintiely agree with!

As far as I know, there's no automated process through Paypal to arrange such a thing. The emails you recieved were probably sent out by the seller, from their computer, not through Paypal. At least, I've never received anything of the sort, and I use Paypal extensively. And while such a thing would be helpful in the case of the people that do Paypal their orders, not everone does. Some people send checks or money orders. Such a system would compeltely leave them out of this, and thus wouldn't be fair. In order to set up something like this on Beth's computer, she or someone knowledgeable would have to set up proper filters and mail handling rules, and that's not as easy as people seem to think. As for the forum updates .. don't you think that if she could do that, she would? I frankly think that whoever said we're spoiled is right. Yes I was impatient when I was awaiting my order. But I didn't email Beth eighty-bazillion times asking 'Where's my order, it's been two weeks!'. I know how home-run businesses work, and I know it takes time. Plus I took the time to ask questions and actually read the answers. No matter how many times I've tried to explain that CCNow's 'shipping' date is incorrect, I've still seen people griping about how it 'says it's been shipped and aughtta be there by now.' I personally would rather Beth spend the time working on her creations, not having to sit down, even for five minutes, just to say 'I'm still working on it. She does post when she has any sort of an update to give, and that's good enough for me.

While the above are both very good ideas, I think you need to realize that BPAL is, as I understand it, comprised of less than 10 people. I don't think there's a way for them to have an 'automated' email sent out. Creating such a process is more complicated than one might expect, since Beth doesn't do her own shipping. Emails -are- sent .. through USPS, when the orders are dropped off there or put through the system or whatever. The same goes for updates. Beth works full time doing .. well, something. I'm not quite sure what yet. But that means this isn't her priority, as much as she'd probably like it to be. She can't always get a chance to post updates to the website .. a task that is just as daunting to the general public as creating an automated shipping database system. And she probably has hundreds of emails and PM's to go through every day .. would you rather her spend what time she has to devote to making her wonderful creations, or posting updates? My own $0.02.

Bural was, sadly, disappointing on me, and will be swapped. I was hoping it wouldn't be quite so rose-y, but it was rather overpowering on me. I'm not sure what it was that turned me off with this one .. the juniper is very strong from the get-go, and it's possible it just doesn't dry well on me. Sadly, this will be swapped, though I'm sure it would be good for someone who likes rose scents. Probably a good scent for someone who already liked Zombi too, I might add, as they're almost similar, at least on me.

Ahhh, Villain. Jason can be my villain any day, so long as he wears this. Oh, I about knocked him over when we had this on, and it stayed yummy the whole day long. It was simply fabulous. I can smell the citrus in it, and the musk. I don't quite catch the lavender fougere, but that's not a problem really, with how this all blends together. Having tried it on myself, I can say this is definitely one Jason will have to use up himself. It's nice, but almost baby-wipe sweet on me .. not an appealing thing to say the least.

Unseelie is definitely the right name for this one. It's dark and playful at the same time. It's sweet .. , almost fruity .. like gardenia, maybe? Or possibly jasmine. Wet I was concerned about it. It's a little too sweet for what I usually like (or as I'm learning, -thought- I liked) but as it dried it mellowed really well to something I really enjoyed. After drying a while this settled to a powdery apple-jasmine-y aroma .. I don't know enough about the notes to pick them out, but that's what it smelled like for me. If a scent could have a color, this one is green. Like a lush, irish-fields green that just calls one home.

This was another of jason's first picks, and I loved it. He put it on really strong at first, however, and I think it nearly turned him off to it. When I tried it on it was very crisp .. almost like Old Shanghai was on me, but with a different tang. I don't exactly smell ozone in it .. or didn't on my first wear .. but it still remainds me of lightning. Definitely an invigorating scent, one I will defintiely keep around, even if hubby doesn't like it.

This one was one of Jason's picks, not mine, and I have to say he was a little disappointed at first. After it dried on him it became rather powerfulyl rose, and not much else. I still thought it was nice on him, though. Wet it's very earthy mixed with decaying leaves (a good thing I promise!), blended with a slight floral tone. As it dried I noted as others have the over-ripe roses, just ready to be scattered to the winds. When totally dry it's a sweet rose with a hint left of the mossy dirt notes left. Not my favorite scent, this is still one of the better rose blends I've smelled so far.

I was really looking forward to this scent, and wasn't really disappointed with it, I'm glad to report. Wet, I don't really smell the rose. It smells like I imagine the courtesans of Venice did .. or would, had they had the delightful oils of BPAL to choose from! As it dries it becomes more rose, and heavier. Like velvet would, it if had a scent. Its sweet, but not cloying, and a very 'warm' smell, as Jason put it. I tried it again today, and I am definitely smelling the fruitiness people have talked about, not so much of the rose, which is nice. It's not something I would wear for spring though. This is a late summer-fall scent. But definitely a keeper.

Again, as I know I've posted this before, but it seems like people have missed it. The date CCNow says an item Shipped is not the day it is shipped, but the date that Beth & Co. 'download' (for lack of a better word) the orders from them. Beth then has to prepare the orders, and get them ready to be shipped .. in addition to everything else she does. When she -actually- ships them, she sets it up so that the USPS sends an email to the recipient to let them know the package has been sent. As a side note, you won't see any information the first 24 after you get that email. It's the way the system works, and there's not a thing Beth can do about it. Hopefully in the future Beth can do something different, but as I understand it, it wouldn't be feasible for her to run her own shipping right now. Hopefully someday she can, but it is expensive. Same reason she can't take credit-cards herself.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
TygherRayn replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
Here, lemme add another for your list! (You should see mine! Ack!) Old Rome. It's not as powerfully 'rose' as Old Venice, but still delightful. I almost prefer it now, after a second wearing. -
Wow .. yet another question I had that I just hadn't gotten aroudn to asking yet. Cool! The way I see it is this .. if the imps/bottles last from a couple weeks (for the imps) to a few months (for the bottles) Then that gives me a chance to try LOTS of new scents as I run out! What could possibly be wrong with that, after all!
-
Heehee! I'm glad someone else asked about this ... I was a litle worried myself! I'm so desperately wanting to try Beltane ... and I don't even know what it'll smell like yet! (Can you say .. junkie!?)
-
Augh! Not an AbFab fanatic! *hides* Darling Jason loves them .. so much that I just can't stand to see them anymore! /offtopic
-
Promise!? I'm sure everyone else will agree with me on this, I don't see how any of us could complain about the prices going up. And the new oils .. I'm so excited about so many of them. I do have a curious question. Scarecrow .. is this the start of a Wizard of Oz theme? *hopeful smile* Shouldn't it be called Fiero instead?
-
Ditto to that. I could use that one at work.

Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?

Old Venice. Yes .. yes yes. Burial is rosey too, but it didn't doo well on me. I was hoping I think for more earth than rose maybe. But you should try it! -
Per-sef-phone-nee Im (like in him)- p Sam-hayn or traditionally Sow-when Brew-ha Or-ee-us

As I understand it, and I'm not an expert, but it appears that the Received date is when CCNow receives the order,a nd the Shipped date is when BPAL receives it from CCNow. I'm guessing That Beth only accesses the orders in batches?

I really like the blend of this one. It's not overpowering to me at all. It's not a very long-lasting scent though, not on me anyway. It's almost 'warmer' than I'd like a Jasmine scent to be too .. might be the myrrh, as I've not a lot of experience with myrrh in much. I think this one's a keeper though. At least as an imp.
