Oh, I posted the imps somewhere, which is all I have right now. Hang on .. I'll be right back with the link. Actually .. I'll just PM it to you. *hugs*

In the bottle: This was very sweet, but a pale, haunting sweetness. Like tiny flowers, mingles with some kind of berry scent. I didn't detect a grassy note at all. Wearing: Grass. Not the freshly mowed grass that always brings to mind softball fields to me, but more just soft, lush grasses in a field, dotted with buttercups and violets and all those little tiny flowers. It's a very subtle fragrance on me .. defintiely feminine with my chemistry. I'm not entirely sure I like it on me, though it would be great in a candle or as a room scent, especially in the Spring/Summer.

This was one I swapped for, and I'm so very glad I did. In the bottle it's sweet. Almost-but-not-quite-too-sweet. I thought the very same thing Shollin mentioned .. it's like Nerd's candy. Or rather, it smells like they taste. When I first put it on it's just as sweet, with very little change from the bottle, but quickly starts to mellow and become just a little darker. It still has that almost caustic sweetness that could be overwhelming, but somehow isn't. It's like the scent is precariously balanced, hovering just on the edge of something bad, but not quite going there. As it dries, it's just yummy. I definitely smell wine. A good, sweet, yummy wine that I'd want to drink by the gallon .. if it wouldn't make me sick. It lasted quite a while on me too, of which I was very pleased. I was still able to smell it well into my night at work. Side note: this scent actually saved me from retching at work when the cleaning guy was hovering around my cubicle 'cleaning'. He smelled like bad BO and dirt and cleaning products, and it was all I could do not to retch. I started sniffing my wrist though, and that solved the problem!

Just a reminder ... the CCNow shipping date just means the order is now in the lab's hands, and not actually in the mail. Last update they'd gotten to orders through the 7th.

Hmm. I've become a bit wary of the rose scents recently, with how Burial and Old Venice have been working out on me .. or rather, not. First of all .. it was green! That really threw me off at first .. I expected a more amber-y colored oil! Eeek! First Sniff: Hmm. Sweet. Almost too much so. And something almost sharp in this. I wasn't sure I wanted to try it .. but people rave about it so, I couldn't not try it. I can smell the rose in it, but it smells like there's something else there, and it's not the amber. First half-hour: When I first put this on my skin it was very rosey. Not nearly as stifling as Burial was on me, which was nice, but it still was an odd scent to my nose. I almost just washed it off to try another on, but figured I could afford to wait. Besides .. you can't just give up on one of Beth's fabulous creations! It's mellowing now .. not quite so rosey, which is a blessing. I was afraid this might be one I'd have to pass on. I'm still not sure it's one of my favorites, but at least it isn't hideously rose like Burial was. Final decision: It's nice. It's very rose .. but there's a lingering sweetness behind the rose, I'm not sure what I'm smelling .. but it's not enough to overpower the heady rose, and rose just doesn't seem to do well on me, unless it's lighter. I like it, but I think I'll be putting this in the swap pile. A lesson learned.

The only one I have duplicates of is Zephyr, and they're identical to my nose. My guess is thry're from different batches in the lab? Because everything's handmade, I'm sure it can have minor changes from batch to batch .. or even have simply changed in the imp over time .. ?? Maybe?

Oooh! Full time? I'll light a candle for a good outcome, hun!

She'd have to have her email client set up to filter her mail .. which wouldn't be overly hard, but that would be a good thing. I second the vote for a 'Suggested subject lines when emailing us' section.

As far as the meaning of the card, yes, the Empress might be a good one as well. I'd know better if I knew what was in it as far as notes.
-
*nips* TygHer. *wink* I thought as much. I just see that question all the time. Though .. something that lets newbies know what to expect as far as shipping .. maybe a stickied post here, even? Dunno .. just see the same question all the time .. *shrugs*

Can we add something stating what the order-filling process is? I see a lot of people confused about the whole CCNow shipping date thing .. and it seems to cause a lot of frustration. Or would that just be silly, since you're dropping them soon?
-
To help out someone else, I just took a quick snap of the imps, so I figured I'd post the pics here as well.

Well, if what I've heard is correct about O, that would be a good one. Besides, Milk and honey have definite fertility properties.

I did something similar . I placed an order on 4/16 and another on 4/19 because hubby wanted more too. But I was able to get Nella to combine the two for us, to save on a little shipping, and a little hassle for the Lab .. better to send one box than two, I figure!
-
USPS is notoriously slow about that. By the time I got my notice that it was actually delivered, I had my package in my greedy little hands. But if you got the email then it was indeed shipped. It usually takes 2-4 days from the day it was shipped.
-
It does if you ask them to, I think. I asked Nella to get my two orders combined for us, and she said it was done. As for CCNow, they 'Shipped' date on their site just means BPAL has pulled the order from them. You get an email from USPS when it's actually shipped. When was your order placed? Beth's most recent update said seh has shipped all orders through April 7th.
-
Welcome Michelle .. and Beth, shouldn't you be sleeping, or is it earlier there than here?
-
Oh wow! That would be awesome for you guys! *crosses fingers and toes*
-
Nella is really quick about responding to things, so she'd be the one to ask. I highly doubt they're just going to let orders hang around to vanish, though. They'll tie the ends up nicely, I'm sure. I however have been using Paypal to order .. and might switch to sending checks/money-orders ... cos I think beth should be getting more of the money.

Received this in a swap .. and oh so glad I did .. it was on my list anyway, and now I know why. In the bottle it's very light, very sweet. I can catch the vanilla, and the lemony scents, but little else. I don't think I really notice the sandlewood then. When I put it on though, it warms a bit to my skin, so it's not everyly fruity or light. It's got a muskiness I really like. The vanilla is yummy, not sticky sweet and overpowering. It doesn't even seem overly floral to me .. just light and crisp. Like .. well .. like linens dried in the sunlight .. almost. But that nice. That crip and clean-smelling. It has lasted a good while too .. it's now about 8 hours after I applied, and it's still there. As with most scents, I find myself constantly sniffing my wrist, loving the subtle changes .. and it's not different with this one. And it's a good thing.
-
*grins* Well good .. that means I might have my latest order before I can put in a new one. So I'll have a better idea of what I want ... no worries at all Beth.
-
Which address did you send to, friendthegirl? I'm never sure where to send emails .. or rather ... to whom.
-
You need to make sure you emailed the addy at blackphoenixalchemylab.com for one thing .. papow doesn't exist anymore.
-
Hello and welcome, Nella! Sounds like you have a great ... and possibly challenging job ahead of you .. with as impatient as we all are! *winks*

How about I come work for you guys, and just do email and forum updates? Heh .. I wish. Can't leave here, thanks to mortgages .. but I'm really glad to hear that ya'll are just busy .. busy is good! I'm waiting patiently too for my orders .. yeah, two of them. They both came from taniaallen @ comporium . net .. if that helps. No hurry, of course. I'm enjoying the oils I already have.
