    Vetiver

Hiya vetiver loving loving peeps! Anyone have some new recs? I read through a few pages in the Vetiver discussion and added a few to my wishlist but I didn't find many that I haven't tried although Lucifer sounds fantastic. Seems like vetiver is usually paired with something I can't wear like myrrh, flowers, dragon's blood etc. Cohen v. California was so close to being perfect but the honey that is garbage juice to my nose stomped all over that! The ones I have and love are Death Adder, Tombeur and Antonino but I don't really get much vetiver out of the latter two. I don't want anything that is too charred or green, thanks for any help! (brought this over from Vetiver discussion)

    Cinnamon girl...

I haven't tried the other two but the imp I have of Shub-Niggurath isn't harsh or lemony at all. I have a feeling that is was pretty old by the time I received it so I think you should try ageing yours. A couple other sweet/warm/foody cinnamon blends that are great are Pickled Imp(from Carnival Diabolique) and Gingerbread Poppet(past yule) neither are available right now but you should be able to find them in the forums.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I did just suggest this for a different perfume but Copper Phoenix sounds like it fits the bill for this one also, maybe it's just 'cause I'm wearing it right now! Copper Phoenix: Rose-infused dark amber, with sweet orange, honey, cardamom, patchouli, apricot, pink pepper, and red sandalwood.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I'm looking for a BPAL that smells like Song of India's Liquid Amber. I've tried Jacob's Ladder which was really great amber under a whole pile of baby oil and O which I found kinda rancid. I've also tried quite a few blends with amber which are nice but I want something that's more in your face AMBER. Thanks for any help!

    Love Me

In the vial I get a nice dark spicy scent. On this smells exactly like those little scented oil filled bath balls my Grandma got when I was a kid. Very perfume-y, I guess that's the jasmine with an oily/soapy undertone and a tinsy bit of spice, it stays that way the whole time I have it on(1/2 hour). Floral perfumes never work on me but I bet on someone who can wear them and like it, this would be lovely.

Ginger scents & the different types of ginger notes

I can't believe nobody's mentioned saw-scaled viper! It is a sharp, piercing, fresh ginger that lasts even after it warms up and the other spices and SO come through. When I first opened the bottle I was scared, but once it's on it's so smooth and rich but stays fresh and GINGER!

    Priala, the Human Phoenix (2006)

This smells so good, so why the headache? The first time I tried the oil I spilled a little on my jeans and went directly outside to a campfire without changing, hoping that the crisp air and campfire smoke would take the edge off but all I could smell was Priala! So the next time I tried it (being very careful not to spill) still just too strong- but a very nice scent. I think I'll dilute it with some carrier oil and try again, can probably make 5 bottles out of 1 with this super heavy scent, hopefully without the headache cause' it's really lovely.

Sage scents - White, Clary, and others

Being a newb, before I knew I could be Canadian and still order off the bpal site I turned to e-bay. Agony of Heartache was one of the first 3 scents I received and it's so amazing! Sage is the strongest note I get from it (but sooo smooth, as many are sharp) and could pass out out from huffing on it so hard. Alas my heart was in some agony over it once I learned what a LE is. If you're a fan of sage though and are lucky enough to come across a bottle snatch it up while you can! I will be savoring what I have left of my bottle after going slather happy on the first half.
