Bastet is one of my staple bottles, but I was surprised to find that it does not contain honey. The effect is a silky honey-sweet comforting golden aura. It is very feminine and words hardly do it justice: I think I'd like to be handfasted To my little vial of Bastet The bestest oil to scent my wrist If Discontinued I'll be pissed!

Anathema is tart floral on me and reminds me a bit of Danube. It throws like a major leaguer. The smokiness of the opium develops on drydown. I don't think I use this for an everyday scent - it's really an in-your-face sweet floral. I like it, but don't need a bottle.

Carnal was a surprise. The name conjures up "skin" or "flesh" so I expected something musky (this came as a frimp). The fig and orange develop into a ripe, syrupy apricot on me. A fruitier less woody version of Yerevan. Although I'm fruity enough with out assistance from my perfume, I'm glad I got to try Carnal.

Blood Kiss another exception that proves the rule. I don't do well with wine scents, but BK is delicious. Almost literally. The honey and vanilla predominate with the poppy and other notes adding a nice touch of complexity. Glad I got to try it.

Wolfsbane is too woodsy/bitter/dark to wear as a scent, but will do fine ye olde oil burner.

Kostnice is very lily on me. The wood and geranium hover in the background. This does not last long, does not have a lot of throw, and has a bit of a cucumber undertone. Kostnice is a nice light floral, but there are others I like better.

... Milk Moon is Flower Moon’s warmer, gentler cousin; it is a scent that emulates the closeness of child and mother. In it, cream and warm honey soften our traditional blend of lunar oils. I finally got to try the famous Milk Moon. It is creamy and buttery and does not appear to have floral, wood, herb, or much else. I tested Obatala on the other wrist, and in comparison it seems to have a celery undertone. Yes, Milk Moon is a comfort scent, but I don't need to track down a bottle.

Lots of cedar, maybe balsa wood, and a little vinegar. I am less than whelmed with this as a scent. But since Jupiter is a giant gas ball, it could have been worse. However, Jupiter holds its own in an oil burner. The woodsiness evokes an old library feel. I will likely use this one up as mood/room scent. Yep, smells so good as a room scent Jupiter may be the first 5ml I use up.

Freak Show is nice in its way - very, very fruity. It reminds me a little of Bathsheba. This blend just isn't my type, I'm not big on foody and what foodies I have are cakey and are worn only as a novelty.

I would have guessed cherries and sandalwood were ingredients in Hexennacht. The overall impression is sweet wood. If Beltaine is the daylight side of the equinox, Hex. is the dark side.

I love Fire Eater, it is up there in my top three florals with Perfumed Garden and Berenice. It is a little smoky, a little powdery, maybe a bit of champagne and altogether YUM. My guess is poppy and lily, but I am one of the clueless many when it comes to actual notes. What's not there: rose, jasmine, lavender. I'm so glad I got to try this one.

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

Khajuraho is my favorite. I think Hanging Gardens reminded me a little of Mr. K. -
A very herbal Buck, drinking a vanilla latte, and wearing powder. Much nicer than the Boner Bambi I was expecting. Love the imp, but don't need a whole bottle.

Hush you Muskies! teh Smut starts out with an aromatic rootbeer blast and later develops a little fermented undertone. On me it's just big-time loud musk and needs to go live with someone a little sexier than I.

Not much of a foody scent person myself, but Midway is very happy and comforting. It smells of popcorn and sugar. Not a perfume per se, but a great pleasure to wear with pajamas during private time.

I've had some bad experience with the jasmine scents, but Perfumed Garden blew me away with tart floral goodness. The jasmine plays off really well against the apple and quince; the thyme probably makes it aromatic, and I'm not sure what the myrrh is doing, but the overall experience is wonderful. I've been reaching for this one a lot. Perfumed Garden reinforces my observation that the Lupercalia update was the best ever.

Red Phoenix is really puzzling. It starts out with a blast of cinnamon/cassia, mellows out into a spicy scent that blends into my skin, and ends up maybe a little musky vanilla. I don't think I ever detected the citrus or benzoin - but who nose. All in all I like it and would likely have kept it had I originally ordered it, but I don't need to hunt down a whole bottle now that it is history. ]

Snow White smells like the world's best suntan lotion. On a beach. With a pina colada.

Lurid is pleasantly sweet, musky and spicy on me. Definitely keeping the imp but due to bottle overload ....

One of the better jasmines for me: the geranium keeps it sharp and a little bitter and weedy. No discernable juniper, but there seems to be a roasted grain/salty undertone. I liked Ligiea more than I expected to.

Another one I passed up because of the description - didn't really want to smell "silly". I find Pink Phoenix to be more comforting than silly: on me it is mostly vanilla and honey with a little bit of sweet pea. I don't detect much strawberry, if any. PP also has noticeable throw and lasts at least five hours. I'm tickled Pink.

Mars is my favorite of the Celestials. Definite metallic/ozone over leather and resin. Mars seems dark and powerful, this oil really captures the intended experience.
-
Venus is metallic dried rose petals for me and not particularly interesting. Better in the oil burner.

Sol reminds me very much of Constant Comment tea. This one is better in an oil burner than as a perfume.

I had an odball experience with Tombstone. Out of the imp it reminded me chewing gum, but settled down into cedar and leather. No root beer or vanilla for me - maybe I got the Diet version.
