This is quite floral on me, though I can't identify particular flowers. There may be some rose, though? I'm not really getting any of the foodie notes or much smokiness. Bummer.

ZOMG this is amazing. Probably full-bottle worthy for me. Super rich and decadent, heavy on the brown butter. But there's a nice sharp spiciness from the cinnamon and nutmeg as well. Not really any pumpkin, which I am A-OK with since I'm not really a fan. I kind of want to eat my arm right now.

Yet another apple scent that goes unpleasantly sharp on me. I wish I was getting the sweet juicy candy-ness everyone else is raving about, but nope. I think either my nose or my skin is messed up when it comes to apple scents. Oh well, all the weenies can't be winners.

2015 version. So I'm not really into the whole pumpkin spice craze, mostly because I don't really like pumpkin, but I love warm spicy foody scents like cinnamon. I missed this one last year (bought WAY too much as usual and figured I could pass on this) but really regretted it once I saw so many glowing mentions on the forums. So I'm glad it was rereleased this year! I don't really smell any pumpkin in this, which is great for me! It's mostly just warm, comforting spices, and there's something almost bready about it. I like!

I keep trying apple scents in hopes that I'll like one of them, but they always seem to go unpleasant on me. Or maybe I just don't like the smell of apple as much as I think I do? In any case, this is very true to the description and smells JUST LIKE fresh apple cider. I love just getting a quick whiff of it from my decant, but then unfortunately it turns sharp and bitter once I've applied it to my skin. Womp womp. I'm going to try this one a couple more times to see if I can make it work though, and if not I'll keep up the hunt for the elusive apple scent that likes me.

In bottle: Toasty, nutty coffee beans. Wet on skin: very similar. This smells like freshly ground coffee, it's actually quite light and subtle and not as sweet or creamy as I imagined it would be. (That's a good thing because I have no shortage of sweet creamy scents!) Dry: Like the others I've tried from this series, it stays pretty much the same and doesn't really morph. This gets maybe a touch bitter in the dry phase. I'm actually really pleased that this ended up being drier and nuttier than I expected, I can see myself wearing this a lot.

In bottle: salty, buttery popcorn. Wet on skin: still popcorn-dominant (and WOW is that a true scent -- it smells like there's some Orville Redenbacher in the microwave right now) but there's a touch of waxy sweetness coming through now as well. Dry: Pretty much the same as above -- the jellybeans aren't very strong on me. This doesn't seem to be much of a morpher either. This reminds me of a saltier, less-creamy version of Ivory Vulva.

In bottle: pure caramel hard candy. Wet on skin: now I get a hint of rum and vanilla, but it's still primarily caramel. VERY sweet and cloying -- hoping a little more of the tobacco comes out to cut through the syrup. Dry: This mellows out a little bit but it's still pretty much candy. I like it a lot, but I have SO MANY scents that are similar to this so I was hoping it would be a little more complex or unique.

I've never tried any of the atmo sprays before but I just received a sample of this in my last Trading Post order. It's quite pleasant! The orange is reminiscent of more commercial sprays, but it's a lot mellower and the grass and leaves definitely come through. I think I'll stick this one in the bathroom and see how often I end up using it.

This is rather true to the scent description, incense and lemon. It's very musky on the skin, but the citrus brightens it up so it's not overly heavy like some musk/incense blends can be. I like this, but I own a lot of similar scents so I'm not sure it'll be a full-bottle purchase for me.

this is actually a much stronger "tea" scent than I expected from the "white tea" descriptor. it's pretty bitter and earthy, but there's also some bright lemon in there... not floor cleaner at all, the "lemon balm" smells more like a soft lemon peel to me. it mellows out a little as it dries down. this is a fairly pleasant, neutral scent, but i'm not completely sold on it.

testing location: right inner wrist in imp: Yum! Super fruity and bright. The other reviewers who say "bubblegum" are spot on, though it also seems very pineapple-y to me. wet on skin: Very similar, it's like a tropical cocktail and I love it. Just a hint of pepper in the background adds complexity. dry: This becomes a little bit more subtle but it's still just as delicious. I think this has the potential to be a new fave actually, as I don't have any full bottles that are really similar.

Midnight on the Midway (2015)

testing location: left inner elbow in imp: very floral, though i can't quite pick out varieties. violets, maybe? wet on skin: light and sugary, but not too sweet and the florals aren't as heavy as I feared. this is actually kind of nice and subtle. something about it almost reminds me of juicy fruit gum. dry: unfortunately this has become a rather musty, generic floral about an hour after applying. don't think this is a keeper for me. -
Testing location: right wrist In imp: slightly bitter wood Wet on skin: less bitter, and there's a nice nutty warmth coming through now. Getting just a touch of soft, well-worn leather coming through as well. This reminds me a bit of Tombstone, another woodsy masculine scent I like, but maybe even a bit more mellow. I like it, I can imagine myself wearing it now and then, but I don't think I need a whole bottle.

Testing location: left wrist In imp: sweet incense Wet on skin: powdery musk w/ hints of exotic spices Dry: unfortunately this has gone quite powdery on me. There is still a nice musk, but I have a lot of these musky/spicy/"oriental" scents so I'm trying to be choosier with them... can't say this one is my favorite.

Testing location: left inner elbow In imp: all pine and woods Wet on skin: fresh, mellow and woody. Just a hint of vanilla sweetness. Dry: actually quite similar to how it smelled wet, it hasn't changed too much. I like this one well enough, but I don't know if I love it on me. I don't usually agree with "masculine" vs. "feminine" scents, but I agree with others who would love to smell this on a man!

I really dislike lavender so I'm extremely skeptical of this one, but hey, I'll try anything. In imp: Nopenopenopenopenope. Full-on strong lavender and other sour florals. Wet on skin: Okay, I applied just the tiniest dab in hopes it might magically transform into something wonderful on my skin.... but nope. Still not a fan. Dry: Well, my nose isn't so offended that I haven't washed it off -- but this is pretty much a pure lavender scent to me and that's not my thing.

Testing location: right inner wrist. In imp: black pepper and other spices Wet on skin: sweet spices, lots of cinnamon. Hoping this one doesn't burn my sensitive skin! Dry: no skin burning, which is great because I love this. It's mellowed out into something subtle and sweet but still a bit exotic.

Testing location: left inner elbow In imp: rich, woody almonds. Wet on skin: very similar to in imp, but with a touch of sweetness added. After about twenty minutes, this is starting to tingle a bit on my inner elbow, but I don't detect any cinnamon which is the usual culprit for my sensitive skin. Will have to wait and see if a rash develops... I hope not because I LOVE this. Almond scents have a tendency to be full-on marzipan on me, but this is all nutty and natural. It would be a beautiful, subtle everyday scent for me... I just want to slather myself in it. Dry: Hmmm, after a couple hours there's some new herbal note in this that I don't love. Wish it had stayed all sweet nuttiness... Will have to try this one again, as I was totally in love with it but now I'm not so sure.

Testing location: left inner wrist In imp: fresh, bright, and sweet -- faintly honey-scented? Wet on skin: Slightly grassy now, but still very sweet. I get only the faintest hint of wood and incense. Dry: soft, sweet incense. Maybe some vanilla? This was a complete surprise! Totally different than I expected it to smell from reading the description and notes. I actually quite like this one...

Wore this today -- couldn't remember if I'd tested this imp before, but I knew from the notes it couldn't be bad. This was all vanilla and rum with soft spices on me. Delicious! I got subtle whiffs of the tobacco and maybe leather there too, but they weren't strong at all. A super sexy scent, but could also be worn every day. This has the potential to be a new favorite...

In imp: strong, woodsy pine Wet on skin: Even pinier, if that's possible! Quite fresh and bright though. Really not a fan of this one, though... sniffing it is giving me a headache, or maybe my nose is just tired. I think this is just far too foresty for me.
-
In imp: metallic, wet. Don't entirely know how to describe this one, it's actually not that strong. Wet on skin: clean and fresh, but again... just not much there. Drydown: same as above. This doesn't seem to change on me much at all. This doesn't really have a lot of draw for me, but I think it would be great on a man who wants a simple, light cologne.
-
In imp: This is not a pleasant scent (to me), but also not repulsive: kind of woodsy, grassy, but also somewhat chemical. Wet on skin: Yeah, still not liking this one (but I had to try!). If anything it has become much more chemical-y, very much furniture polish. Drydown: Quite a bit of lemon coming through, but that's really not helping the cleaner/polish associations. Man, I'm really on a roll with the misses in tonight's imp testing session....

This is lovely in the imp, sweet sugary tea. It becomes quite floral once applied to my skin and I'm just not a huge fan of florals..... but then it quickly dries down into citrus and herbs. Quite a morpher, this one. I'll probably need to re-test this one at a later date to really decide how I feel about it.
