  1. Mad Hattie

    The Obsidian Widow

This was an imp included in a present to me. In the bottle - Aged roses, an almost cold forest-y pine kind of smell. I thought this was an unusual combination but not unpleasant. On the skin - much the same but the roses and the pine seems to mute and I started smelling a little bit if a dusty/musty as if there were cobwebs in this forest. Dry - I had the impression I was in an abandoned victorian room with dead roses, old tea, and cobwebs in the corners. The Rose seems like it is trying to hard as it was a bit too sweet but it reminds me of that rose soap my grandmother always uses. Overall, not a bad flowery scent but a bit too simple and straightforward for my taste.
  2. Mad Hattie

    Mad Hatter

Received this as an imp as a present order. I really wanted to love this, I am obsessed with Mad Hatters of all kinds. In the bottle - Cold minty tea with way to much sugar in it that has spilled out over a flower covered table with equally sugary treats all over it. On the Skin - Still a strong scent of spilled sugary tea. It seems foofy almost to the point of ridiculous. I can't seem to smell anything else as this seems to be overpowering. I can only guess my nose is not as skilled as my tongue when I sip wines. Dry - I feel like I dipped my hands in tea and let it dry. I actually feel bad even making this review since I wanted to like it. Overall this was not what I expected. If you prefer overly sweet and flowery scents then this is for you. If very sweet scents do not do it for you then I would suggest trying something else.
  3. I received this as an imp as my friend purchased a few scents for me. I order a 5ml of this as it had become my new favorite. In the bottle - Teak with equal notes of of vanilla and hints peppery tobacco. On the skin - The alluring wood combination muted a bit to balance out the spicy tobacco and vanilla. I also detected some leather in there as well. Dry - I still smell the leather and tobacco but I also get a clean kind of smell, slight machine oil, and the vanilla seemed to fade into the background. It makes me think of freshly made furniture, experiments, repairs, steampunk, a nearby airship, and adventure. Overall this is a very pleasant combination, it is not annoyingly spicy nor is it diabetic sweet. I debated back and forth between ordering a 5ml as thats a bit pricey for a scent in my meager opinion but being a parent I hardly treat myself to much so I eventually made the purchase. I know it will last a while and I like the way this smells on me a lot. So many scents either have one note overpower or is frankly, boring. The Antikythera Mechanism is far from boring. It hints at excitement, it is muted sexuality and flirtation, as well as being a warm and hardworking scent. I would recommend this to others despite the price and hope it comes out in a slightly larger version.
