    De Sade

In the vial: Leather but very faint. Wet: Leather and a bit of something else, I guess I would say smoke like from cigarettes. Not so pleased about the smoke part. Dry: Leather but with something sweeter. (which is probably my own body chemistry) Not bad. Later: Now it's that "broken in" leather scent. Very mellow but not standing in the background at all. The sweetness is still there and luckily most of the smoke scent has gone. I really like this one. I may just buy a 5ml. Interesting, very interesting. Good job BPAL! Who knew you could bottle leather?

    Zombi

In the Vial: Interesting and a bit creepy. I had never known what a zombie my smell like till I smelled this. I get a lot of the oakmoss and spanish moss from the vial. Wet: Still a lot of the two mosses. I also get something a bit sour/tart. Not sure what that is though, probably just my skin chemistry tainting something heh. Dry: Now it's just smelling like fake rose and something a bit "dusty". Not sure if I'm liking it as much now. I'd prefer more of the mosses to come back. It smells a bit like these bath oils my grandmother used to hide from us as kids. Later: Now much more "dusty" and much more like those bath oils. If I could compare the scent to something others could understand it's a bit like wet incense. Not a terrible smell but not a fantastic one either. I think this one may be a grower. I really wanted to like this one spot on but I guess only time will tell.

    Vicomte de Valmont

In the vial: Interesting. Deep and dark. Wet: A mans cologne for sure. Which good as I'm a man lol. A bit strong though. Not too unlike many male scents on the market. I'm smelling the rosemary a lot but for some reason it's going more sour. Dry: Wow, this one fades quick. It's still there but not nearly as strong as when wet. I'm still getting something sour and very bitter. It's taking away from the sweetness. Normally I try to shy away from sweet scents as my body has a tendency to only let them through but with this one it's the opposite. Later: Not so bitter now (thankfully). Actually it's reached a nice balance. I still cant really pick out anything but my first inclination to it being a men's scent is still true. This isn't bad. I think I'll get a bottle for my Step Dad. Not sure about me though.

    White Rabbit

In the Vial: Hmm, interesting this one. Sweet, that's for sure. Couldn't really pick anything out though. Wet: A bit sweeter. I still wasn't sure what the sweet smell was. After reading the description I realized it was most likely the tea and something I can't pick out. Very "baby powder" & fresh diapers (if that makes sense). I guess that's the clean linen. Dry: All I get now is vanilla and clean linen. Maybe a bit of tea but then, I may just be hopeful. Later: Now it's almost all vanilla. I get a bit of tea and bitterness but nothing powerful enough to balance out the all-powerful vanilla. So my 'final verdict' isn't a great one. This was a sample so I didn't lose out really and I won't be buying a full bottle. It's nice if you want something this sweet but I don't heh.

    Bloodlust

In the Bottle: Egads! That's potent! It's like smelling a bottle of Grand Marnier that's been exposed to years of smoke. Blech! Wet: It's so dense to me. I smell more of a woodiness than I did in the bottle. It's also got a bite that I'm sure is the cinnamon. And there is a perfumey sort of softness. Not really sweet but not at all harsh, just soft. Dry: Sweeter, much sweeter. Still very strong and it's proving a bit painful to inhale deeply, so I have to sniff carefully lol. That earth/woodiness is still there but very much a background player. It's still a bit spicy too, but not much. Later: Same as above really. Although the spice is almost non-existent. Final Verdict: Not bad, but not for me. The sweetness once again turns me off. *wants to know if his mother downed sugar when he was in the womb*

    Sol

In the Bottle: Citrus, orange perhaps? Whatever it is, it's strong. Wet: Yep, citrus. I'd say there are a few going on. I can pick out what smells like orange and maybe lemon. It's a very spicy scent right now. Warm but almost too "hot". Dry: The spice is still there. The orange citrus has faded quite a bit and I'm getting more of a fragrant floral. Not sure what flower in particular, just a floral. And now perhaps a tincy hint of that lemon I wasn't sure about. And *tiny tiny* hint of rubber lol. That's not a good thing. Later: Now all spice. Just like fake cinnamon. I feel like I'm in a candle store lol. Perhaps a hint of incense as well. Final Verdict: Not impressed. This kind of scent I can get anywhere. It was nice to try an LE for once but I'm not keen on it. Great for spice lovers but I only get a craving for such a scent every once in a great while.

    Nosferatu

In the Bottle: Creepy! That is the first word that came to mind. It is definitely "Vampiric" in it's first impression. I feel as if this is what I would smell from a Vampire lurking in a dark corner, waiting to drain my blood. It's sweet but not sickeningly so. There is a tart "pucker" which I'm sure is the wine. Wet: Wet Earth. It's like somebody turned over a glass diluted red-wine onto cold grave-dirt. It's light but "all knowing" at the same time. Dry: The dirt and wine have now melded together. I can still pick them apart but they're merging together slowly to become an intoxicating blend of subtle wet sweetness with a dark and earthy lover. Both are evil scents that are now allies and they're like a spider, calling me into their web so they may feast on me. And it's so good, I just may let them. Later: It's all sweet now but still not an innocent scent. The scent strength has really come down a bit. There is a maturity to this sweetness that I know is the grave soil and it's really pleasant. Final Verdict: Of all the imps I've reviewed today this is my favourite. It's also my first favourite scent from Bpal. It's so beautiful and "intelligent" if you can call a scent that. Very alluring and I think this is a scent that will be great on my body or sending me into heady bliss wafting through my room from a diffuser. My only concern is that it died down pretty quickly. I can still smell it from a small distance but then I've been smelling it for a while now lol, so it my just be camping out in my nose. I'll have to ask others how long the scent lasts on me. But even if I have to bathe in this stuff(ooh a bath!) I won't mind. I'm *heavily* considering buying a 5ml of this. Too beautiful to pass up!

    Black Rose

In the Bottle: Rose, but a bit of a "fake" rose. Sort of that talcum powder sweetness. Although something in there is dark and lurking, almost "sour". Wet: Very talcum powder, but not so "fluffy" as it usually smells. It's more of a "mature" smelling talc, if that makes sense. It's a very sharp sweetness that says, "What other notes? I'm the only thing here. Isn't my lovely innocence captivating?" but I know it's a lie. I smelled something dark in the bottle and I know it's hiding somewhere. Dry: Real rose that barely peeks out because it's afraid to confront the imposter talcum scent hehe. I won't wait for my "Later" findings as I waited much longer between the wet and dry than I normally do and I'm fairly sure the scent will remain the same. If not I'll change it but for now it's staying. Final verdict: Pretty if you like the "fake" rose scent. I like it for rooms and such but not on my body.

    Omen

In the Bottle: Even before I opened it I got patchouli. Very strong and earthy, a bit of wood scent in there too. Wet: Same as above only with a slight touch of smoke. And something that I can only describe as "grey". Dry: Patchouli! This is the only note that stands out really. Later: Still patchouli, just sweeter. Final Verdict: Meh, nice, but not dark. If that "grey" scent I'd found earlier on had developed more I'd have probably taken to this scent better. But not bad when I want to smell like patchouli.

    Antony

In the Bottle: A masculine scent for sure. Spicy, but not in a "cinnamon" way. I'm no good with notes so I can't name which one this is. There is a sweetness here but it's not overpowering at all. Somewhere in the middle actually. I know its not "in the background", perhaps "off to the side" is a good way to place the sweetness. Wet: Much more of the spice, less of the sweetness. Still very masculine and very similar to common male aftershaves. At first there was even a hint of something peppery, but that faded quickly. Dry: Well now it's sweet again. But a male sweetness, if that makes sense. And I can barely make out a touch of something else way in the back but it comes and goes and I couldn't say what scent it could be, just something "hiding". Later: Much more sweet which is a bit of a let down. But it's still nice and still masculine. That hidden note never revealed itself and I can't seem to find it as easily as I once did. Final Verdict: Nice, but a bit too similar to scents I've used before. I'm looking for something unique and this just isn't it sadly. Still, it'll be a good "hold me over" scent until I find something that is just right.

    Darkness

In the bottle: Sweet, but a watery sweetness, nothing thick or sugary about it. Very strong. Not dark at all though. A bit like "Old lady" perfumes that I've smelled. Wet: Oh gods! That wet sweetness is still there and it's brought reinforcements! I can't get past it to find anything hiding underneath. Just sweet "Old lady" that's stronger than ever. Is this opium perhaps? If so I think we're going to have a rocky relationship lol. Dry: The same as wet really. All I'm getting is this damned sweetness. Nothing dark whatsoever. I can't even fool myself into picking up a faint "hint" of anything else. Later: The only addition to the sweetness of before is a *slight* incense. It seems to try and "fight" the sweetness but is severely overwhelmed and loses. Final Verdict: I'm really quite sad. The description of Darkness had my hopes up that if all went well, it could be my "signature" scent. But this just doesn't work right for me I guess. So very very floral and "Old Lady". If I had a grandmother I liked I'd give it to her lol.

    Neo-Tokyo

A scent that captures a meeting of the serenity and elegance of ancient Japan, the vibrant, shining, neon-lit and ultra-modern splendor of today's Tokyo and the fantastic electric fantasyland of post-modern manga fantasy. Urban metallics and an ozone-tinged breath of electric light mingled with reedy bamboo, crisp mountain air, cherry blossoms, delicate orchid and a splash of playful, wet fruits. In the Bottle: Floral with a hint of something bitter. Wet: Slightly aquatic florals with powder. The bitterness is gone. Dry: It has sweetened greatly as my skin tends to do with florals. Also the scent overall seems to have more of a kick now. Later: You know what, this scent reminds me almost 100% of Exclamation. Just not as strong now. That "kick" has faded. The scent is noticeable but not really on either extreme, just there. Final Verdict: Very pretty. That is the best way to describe this scent, "Pretty". Which is good, I love pretty scents. But this one is far too feminine for me. As a guy I like unisex but this is too floral and sweet to even come close to unisex. Perhaps if it had just some slight dark or earthy tones it'd be a better match. I will be giving this to my sister though, she *loves* Exclamation.

    Cathedral

(First review ever! yay) In the Bottle: A bit strong, very "Look at me!". I get a lot of "Christmas Tree"/'Piney' scent. Wet: Still the xmas/pine scent. Something else, but not quite sure. Very spicy as well. Dry: Not as strong as the last two, but still very noticeable. I'm still getting *a lot* of pine/xmas with some incense as well. Later: Much more subdued. The main scent though is still pine/xmas. Very subtle though and now only a touch of the incense as well. Final Verdict: Nice, very good around the winter holiday season I think. But it's a bit too "seasonal" for me to wear all the time. I've only been in a Cathedral once but I don't remember it smelling like this. I don't hate this scent but it's not for me. Would make a great room scent for the holidays though.

    What scents are masculine? Gender-neutral?

I don't think there should be a "Male" section. I mean, there isn't a female section, so why start up that whole thing? I like how it's all unisex. Of course there are some scents which are obviously more feminine and others more masculine but honestly it comes down to how comfortable each person is and how good they feel when wearing a scent that appeals to him/her. I am a male and I've recently ordered my first 4 imps. Three of them did come from the suggest male list but one(Black Rose) wasn't on there(at least I didn't see it lol!). At first I was like "Oh, I hope it's not terribly feminine" but it sounded like it'd work for my body and that's what I'm hoping. Eh, I like taking the risk.
