Mmm, I really like this. In the imp I get the dragon's blood and some of the sandalwood, but as soon as it's on and starts the drydown the dragon's blood goes away (probably good for me, since dragon's blood seems to turn right to soap on me) and the orris comes out- that sweet, violet-y scent. It's not too sweet, though, because the sandalwood keeps it in check. Dragon's bone, on me at least, is very light and wears close to the skin but I couldn't stop sniffing it. The combination of the sweet orris and the spicy sandalwood is so great- it's like the scent equivalent of a really nice girl who just happens to have that tousled, just-out-of-bed hair.

Hmm. I wanted to love this and really thought that I would, because I adore several of the other Ars Draconis scents, but this one just didn't work out on my skin. In the imp I was getting all of the fruity, spicy, floral goodness that other reviewers have mentioned, but five minutes after I dabbed this on I was already getting wafts of soapiness. Twenty minutes later any hints of cherries or flowers or spice were gone and it was pure soap. I know my skin can do some wonky things to oils; this one just isn't right for me.

Holy sweetness. This is one sugary imp, y'all. In the imp, it was all caramel, but on my skin it turned... sharper? Brighter? I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just develops a whole bunch of other layers that really sing through. I love the wood undertone beneath the caramel/molasses; it turns the whole blend a bit more sophisticated. Just caught a whiff of this on my wool scarf and it's lovely- warm and sweet and exotic- so I'm thinking this might be good in a scent locket. I don't generally buy bottles of GC scents but the imp is a keeper for sure.

For me, Wolfsbane starts out very herbal and slightly astringent. It's not ickily medicinal or anything, though- it's like walking through a field of tall grass just before it goes all dry in the fall. Once it's dry, I get a lot more rose, but still backed with the herbs. Overall, I really love this oil. There's something about it-- the scent itself isn't really earth-shatteringly great for me, but every time I wear it I just feel completely safe and enveloped in warmth and comfort. I want 10!
