Campfires, bonfires, fireplaces, burning wood and leaves...

Another shout out for Samhainophobia here! It has a very dark, thick, resiny scent while in the bottle...but for me, once it dries down on the skin its got a very dusky, smoky, smoldering ashes of autumn leaves quality to it. Complex and beautiful, but more than a little sinister. ;] The smell of ghost stories told around a dying campfire. -
First off: Wow. This came out of left field for me. I mean, it sounded pretty as most all the Yules/Anniversaries did, but it didn't seem like something I'd flip for. Wrong, wrong, deliciously wrong. This is my first 'snow' scent, so that's a new one for me. It's very chilly and bright. Like a shaft of white sunlight breaking through a winter day, almost blinding you when it reflects off all the ice and snow. It does smell rather flat right up against the skin, but as I'm typing this I keep getting cool wafts of mint and earthy forest berries. The throw on this is really something special. Also slathering this on made me feel inexplicably giddy. Definitely gonna need a bottle.

Ooh, I can't praise Hermia enough. <3! The scent makes me think of a sweet, feminine, total ballbuster (like me!). The pink pepper really puts this blind over the top for me -- usually I can't stand to wear florals, but it adds that bite that I need to make the scent truly me.

Just got this girl unsniffed today, and I was so excited! But I was...well, pleased and disappointed in a couple ways. In bottle: Super cloying and sweet. Kind of like a slightly rotten apple. The honey seems to give it a weird tang. It smells like sex, but not in a good way. Wet: Smells dark, thick, sticky...like cough syrup. D: Ick. The lab's apple note doesn't seem to like me. My chemistry was weird with The Hesperides, too. Dry: Still very pungent, but getting better...I've got the beginnings of a headache, though. 15 minutes later: Eee, yes! She's mellowing out. That dark stickiness is staring to fade. I randomly get yummy whiffs of caramel from about a foot away. But, even for all that, there's some lingering unpleasantness. 1 hour later: AHA! That's where all the prettiness has been hiding. Once the apple, honey, and cream decide to mellow out, caramel and teak slip into the forefront to make a warm, deep sweetness. Very cozy, yet sensual. All in all, I'll give her a 3.5/5 ... maybe that'll bump up to a four once I let the bottle age, but for right now Agrat-Bat-Mahlat takes too long to settle down for me to consider this a great scent. This would be great for a sexy date or a chilly night indoors to warm you up , but I'd suggest applying it at least half an hour before going out.
