I was Regan for the will call, and I have been to way too many Halloween parties this month! I am running out of ideas, so I am resorting to my tried and true witch costume for the actual day. I think Wicked will suffice for that one!

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info
merivelle replied to kebechet's topic in BPAL FAQs
Does anyone know if the Lab was able to correct the problem with receiving/responding to emails sent from AOL? -
This is a great fragrance for hot summer days. It's very fresh. I mostly get grapefruit and tea, not that much ginger. It has great staying power as well.

I don't know how one makes a scent that smells exactly like leather, but The Lab has succeeded. It's all leather. I think this would be a fun scent for layering; it would make or some unique fragrances.

I have a real thing for violets and vanilla. Tonka is very much like vanilla, so I decided to try Sybaris. I think it's beautiful. It's a nice mix of violet, tonka and spicey notes. It also lasts a long time. It's a plus to me.

Noix de Coco! Coconuts! In the bottle I thought I could smell the tobacco, but once on the skin this turned into all coconut! It's very sweet and reminds me a bit of...Hawaiian Tropic (sorry Beth!). I did get a ton of compliments while I was wearing it, so I guess that's a plus. Avoid at all costs if you hate coconut.

I love honey, so I decided to try Hetairae. It definatley smells like honey. I can't smell fig at all, but I pick up some spices. My biggest problem with this fragrance is that it fades almost immediatly on me. So, if you like honey scents, I'd try this one. I personally prefer O.

This is an interesting scent. It's suitable for a woman but I think it's better suited for a man. If your looking for a BPAL fragrance for your fella, check ou this one. It has a light tobacco note, and a light rum note. The floral notes are very, very soft. It starts to smell a bit spicey after a few hours. It's definatley one of the better tobacco scents.

Thank you Princess (and the other who replied). I have Perversion but on me all I smell is the wine and none of the tobacco. I will check out Kether.

I really liked Herr Drosselmeyer form the Yule '05 collection and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for scents from the GC that have the scent of tobacco in them. For those of you familiar with Herr Dross, is there anything else that is similar? Thanks for your help.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

I have had a lot of "luck" with Regan and Snake Oil, which are both very different scents. If you want to go along with the study that said that men like the scent of pumpkin pie, then try Jack. -
Unfortunately, I also found Montresor to smell like cherry cough syrup. I decided to try it on and see what happens. The cough syrup scent does temper down, and then it smells nice, like a fruity merlot. However, it faded away very quickly after that. Maybe wine scents are unstable?

I LOVE this scent! It was a frimp and I just ordered a big bottle. It starts out as a patchouli, then mellows in to an oak moss scent, and ends with vetivert. On me it lasted all day, but everyone has a different chemistry. It has 3 scent elements that I love. I'm one of those unusual freaks who likes vetivert. So, I'd recommend this scent to others who also like its components.

To me, both Eris and White Rabbit smell like melons!

This is a heavy, dark scent. The opium and the myrrh are the stongest notes., and I barely notice the narcissus. I like it! My only complaint is that it doesn't last super long and needs to be reapplied during the day, making the bottle disappear quicker!

Chocolate-orange goodness. The scent doesn't mesh well with the name, in my opinion. This reminds me of Christmas, not the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. It's very long lastings and I'd recommend it for "foody-scent" fans.

Oils with the strongest throw or sillage - the most noticeable scents
merivelle replied to lunalight7's topic in Recommendations
For me, the scent that "knocks people down" and lasts ALL day is Highwayman. The vetiver does the job, but some people hate vetiver. Blood Kiss, which has a small amount of vetiver, also lasts forever. Snake Oil is excellent in this way as well, with no vetiver at all. -

I've found these to be very long lasting on me: Blood Kiss, Bordello, Hollywood Babylon, Snake Oil, Chimera, Hellfire, Perversion,Queen Mab and Highwayman. These have moderate staying power on me: Tombstone, Moonrose, Black Rose, Whip (Ok just about anything with rose lasts a pretty long time) , Regan, Velvet, O, and Wicked. It really all depends on your personal chemistry. -
I found this scent to be a very nice, sweet floral with an incense- like undertone. On me it was soft and pleasantly surprising. It fades pretty fast, in about half an hour it was almost gone. I might need a big bottle of this.

This was the very first BPAL fragrance that I ever bought and is still one of my all time favorites. It's a gorgeous floral with strong orchid and mild rose notes. It reminds me of being in the English countryside after a rain storm. Pure heaven.

The fiery, volatile scent of cinnamon, thickened by myrrh, honeysuckle, and copal. I truly love this fragrance! I love cinnamon and myrrh. This scent is sweet and cinnamony, and it's long lasting. I wear this to work when I don't want anyone to mess with me, not becasue of the scent, but because of the name! Harness the power of the Chimera!

This is a very beautiful scent. I love the carnation, which to my nose is the dominant note. The rose is the lightest not to me. I had never tried a carnation scent, in fact I never realized that they really had much of a scent, so I was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is that it isn't very long-lasting.

This is a very interesting scent. When I smell this I get cherry, tobacco, musk, and leather. It seems like a cross between Hellfire and Chimera. It smells wonderful on, my only complaint is that it fades quickly. It's smokey, musky, and sweet

My friend just fell in love with Wilde, then "freaked out" when she saw that it was listed as a "gentleman's scent". I told her that it makes no difference, that lots of women buy "men's scents". I am going to make sure she sees this thread. I love Villan and Highwayman, both described as men's.
