    Delight

In ancient India it was believed that a specific combination of flower petals, when strewn across a couple’s bed, would amplify desire and sexual pleasure. This blend is a blend of the same floral essences, refined into a gloriously sinful perfume blend. Frangipani, with rose, tuberose, and jasmine. In the bottle this smells like glue? nailpolish remover? I blame the jasmine...

    Magdalene

The orchid is piercing in this blend. I LOVE white rose (fresh, crisp and regal) and labdanum (for its creamy warmth), but they are so overshadowed by the orchid my heart weaps...

    Rosalind

My first thought of this scent was that she is Snow White's springtime sister. The florals are fresh, understated, and not at all cloying; the berries add a bit of sweetness. The green note is clean and clear, but still remains feminine and very light. Sweet and innocent.

    Moon Rose

I have been searching for the scent of the big, soft, crisp moonflower blooms. I grow them in my garden, and enjoy them every summer evening. They have been captured here, the elusive ladies...together with the rose (of which variety I do not know) they create an accord that is similar to the white rose. This scent is light, fresh, and fleeting. It is the sister of my beloved Ouija. Moon Rose is a simple, clean, pale beauty.

    Hymn

Very heavy rose scent, warmed with the resins. The rose stays very strong throughout the drydown. The labdanum warms its heart, but is not as prominant as I would have liked. DH complemented me on it, and he is not generally a rose fan, so I may not be catching the true nature of Hymn's throw.

    The Lion

This is a more complex, yet lighter blend than Chimera. The honey note here comes out a bit greener, and the amber is not as deep as the copal in Chimera, but sweeter. The Lion is less candy-like than Chimera, but is a little "soapy", which I did not expect. I expected a bigger spice punch. This is less spicy and sweet than Bengal. I would say that this the freshly bathed brother of Chimera and Bengal! Definately an Aslan type lion, and not the old grumpy lion from Alice's Lookingglass. Love it!

    Viola

This is a classic type of perfume. The tea rose is definitely the star here. This is somewhat in the same category as Ouija, but darker and a bit more sophisticated...like a red velvet version...at the opera.

    Fallen

The pencil shaving-like woods, violet and vertivert are overriding the delicate amber blend that I love so much.

    Jezebel

The slightly green honey note that first hits you in O dries down to a sweet fruity floral. The orange and rose combination is definitely flirt, and dries to a powdery finish. The sandalwood is the perfect base to hold this all together. This reminds me very much of O and Alice together. Love it. I see myself wearing this on soft, romantic afternoons, in bed with my lover.

    Sed Non Satiata

An inital shot of booze with sweet honey...not as green as O or Jezebel. Drying down there is the soft floral of tuberose...with geranium (whom I wish was not there...but mellows out considerably once dry). The musk and red patchouli with the sweetness of the honey are creating a tonka like accord~earthy, sweet, and very sexy. The myrrh gives the blend a unified tang. I am not getting much throw, but you'll just have to get a little closer... Lovely, dark, and brooding...this is a very special scent that must be given time and maturity to appreciate. I would liken it to Snake Oil in that respect, and also in it's depth and complexity...like Snake Oil's brooding sister. It is glorious. I must have more. Edited to add: I revisited Satiata after falling in love (and then being abandoned!) by Smut. It is my new "wear to bed" scent. The drydown is pure sex.

    Jolly Roger

Got this one for DH because he is a leather fan. Too much aquatic here for his taste. It is VERY fresh...a good scent to wear on the beach...while still being sexy and masculine.

    Tiger Lily

I did not expect to LOVE this when I bought it for my little sister who adores lilies. This is fresh, true lily...not cloying...white with a golden yellow center. I do not liken it to actually tiger lilies, which are quite bitter. This is honey sweet and lovely. I am tempted to keep it for myself. It is going on my big bottle list, for sure. I must have some for the longing of spring....

    Megaera

The orris is a mysterious shadow over the piercing grapefruit and sweet plum. Quite interesting. It makes it the darker, sultry sister of Aizen Myoo. I thought the drydown was a bit anise-like. It is fresh without being soapy, green, aquatic or sunny. Quite delightful as a sexy summer scent.

    Jacob's Ladder

Wonderfully blended and very wearable. I find that resinous scents can sometimes be too "churchy" or dry. Not so here. It is golden, warm, and not at all sharp. There is a bit of sweetness from the tonka, but definitely not foody. In a class of its own. I will be giving it to my father who loves frankincense and myrrh. I think he will covet it.

    Snow White

This is GORGEOUS!!!!! I usually like scents on the thick side, but I will be wearing this OFTEN. Snow White is replacing O as my comfort scent right now. The floral is so soft, crisp and creamy at the same time. Like the freshest lily with vanilla cream...an enchanted faerie offering. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Clean and sweet. I LOVE it.

    Bravery, Courage, Confidence, Intimidation, Power

I second the Blood Kiss. Vampy, heavy, slightly soporfic, and sexy as hell!

    Lucy's Kiss

This is like those bath "squares" that I remember my grandmother having and sometimes giving me for Christmas. Very cloying rose...the spice is very faint...like it has been hanging out in a stocking with spiced cookies...or like an old Valentine... Yeah, this is a little scary... I like Harlot better for a spicy rose.

    Prague

In the bottle this reminds me of the Hello Kitty grape gum that I chewed as a child. Nausiating. Wet, there is a green crispness that I just like, but it quickly fades. This one is gaging me. Gotta wash it off...

    Paris

Sensual, decadent, and enigmatic. Lavender, softly underscored by lotus and spice. Almost fruity sweet (lotus? I thought you were so delicate...), with the unmistakeable and overpowering lavander scent: BLAST!!!! The spice is tingling my nose. It dries out to an odd sweetness...I have no point of reference here. Me no likey.

    Nocturne

ETA: I now love violets and have to revisit this scent!

    Languor

An opiate torpor, soporific, trancelike, and sublimely languid. A poet’s morphine dream, a listless journey into a gentle dream and the precipice of intoxicated madness. Paperwhite and black narcissus, three lilies, black poppy and tuberose and a hint of hypnotic opium den haze. Initally is is smoky, dark, (opium? never smelled it in a BPAL blend before) and a bit like aldehyde...lily? Is that you?Awfully sharp, dearie...watch your tongue! I ordered this one for the tuberose, and she definitely makes an appearance on the drydown. Sweet and creamy. Mmmm... dry, this is a LOT like Hunger, one of my favorites. It must be the narcissus. A very complex, lusty floriental. I love the white flowers being shadowed over. VERY potent potion here...a little goes a long way...heady, lush, amazing throw and staying power.

    Eris

Way fruity...watermelon? papya? Super sweet with a bit of muskiness. Hmmm. Drying down, I am pleased to meet mimosa in the garden. I love mimosas, but they are often bitter in blends. That inital blast of fruit is fading down to meet the mimosa and transforming the oil into an accord that is much more like the scent of a real mimosa blossom...those pink, Seusical puffy blooms that won my heart in the South. The bit of spice makes this very wearable for me...adds an exotic touch. I will save this for summer, but I do love her so.

    Moscow

A rich, bold blend of imperial rose, carnation, lush jasmine, lily of the valley, dark musk, amber, bergamot and gilded tangerine. I think this is Alice's mother! If you love Alice, or liked it and wished it wasn't quite so girlie, you must try this. The tangerine is a nice topnote. A bit of a bite, but fun and fruity. It dries out quickly though and I smell the bergamont/rose combo that is so Alice. The lily and jasmine are a BIG floral kick...much larger than life. Dry, the dark musk and amber are very tame...much more so that I have known them to be in the past. Dark musk and I have had more than a few words, but in Moscow, we have parted as friends. A mature fragrance, not quite as mysterious or naughty as I'd like. I think it would be a great "intro-to-BPAL" fragrance for those who like florientals.

    Hunger

This is one of those instant loves for me. At first I thought this was going to be so like Snake Oil that I was going to have to give her up...very dark, rich, and vanilla-y. ...but NOO-ooo.The orange and narcissus make this scent unique. Drying down the orange is very ORANGE (don't be scared), but fades out into just a hit of citrus with a faint, sweet, powdery floral. I can almost not even call it floral it is so soft and creamy. Light and dark in the same bottle...how I imagine black narcissus to look. I love Beth's gourmonds that are not straight up foody. I don't know how she does it. They drive the men wild, ladies, they do. If you are afraid of gourmonds, try this one. Or don't...more for me!!!!!!!! (Slathers on some more....umphf...orgasmic). This is fabulous...a new addition to the top 10. It is one of those scents that is a part of me. It does not feel applied or perfumey...just wonderful...goddess like... I have become Aphrodite...if only for a moment. Excuse me while I add this to my big bottle list...

    Black Dahlia

It is a sharp, but white floral...almost citrusy at first, becoming more creamy...the jasmine blooming realistically. Drying I do detect some light rose...and it's a little powdery...that would be the amber...slightly spicy...more mature. It's alive but deeeeep...a large, bloom, placed on a well stocked vanity, slowly fading... ETA: named my black Great Dane puppy Dahlia
