    Grass and Hay scents

    Phantom Queen and Medea.
  2. I think it's a really personal choice. What kind of things make you happy, uplifted, or comforted. Traditionally citrus or other "bright" notes are said to cheery, but I find they are the opposite-same with the color yellow. I find scents that are dark , creamy, and softly sweet are soothing: musk, vanilla, almond, sandalwood. I love the search feature on the BPAL site. If you crave a peach, booze, grass...almost anything...something is bound to remind you of a pleasent memory.

    VILF

This is a heartbreaker- ALL leather on my skin. Le sigh. I wanted so much more.

    Tombeur

Oooh, I like it! It is like Mme Moriarty's vampire lover (slathers it on DH). It smells musky and red, deep and dark, almost fruity but not quite. It is only slightly sweet, and more herbaceous than I expected-more masculine. DH loves a little lavender in his scents to give them a little lift. This is brilliant.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Have I already said that Fae and Dolce and Gabbana's The One smell so incredibly similar on me?

Scent Recs based on your PERSONALITY!

Morocco, Ouija, Samhain, Bien Loin D'ici, Salome, Scherezade
  7. I have to add Blood Kiss. Satyr and Debauchery are up there, too.

I love Pink Sugar, can you recommend some BPAL?

Definitely Mouse's Long Sad Tale and Eat Me.

    Are bpal blends all-natural?

Thank you, Beth. We love you and all the Labbies!
  10. My light florals (and I don't love florals) are Inez and Ouija. Fae is almost floral, but it more fruity/musky. Witch Queen is my spicy floral.

    The Witch Queen

Oh, yeah, baby. This is good smellin' stuff! Wet it reminds me instantly of a combination of Smut, Skuld, and All Souls, without the ovet sweetness of the first 2, and minus the grapeyness I get from Skuld sometimes that keeps me from wearing her very often. The florals and musk combine beautifully, seamlessly, to give a fresh lift to the incense and dark fruits, and mellow into a complex accord that is all at once her own woman. The drydown is soft, slightly powdery, musky, creamy, honeyed floral. I was worried about the pimento note, as my only experience with them is in olives, but there is no issue with that here. It fades quickly but don't worry, I can slather! If it were a color it would be "plum stained antique white". I am so happy to have a tuberrose/lily scent that I can finally wear! Big bottle worthy for SURE! This feels light enough for warmer months but still has a lot of body and doesn't go sour like many florals or "light" blends go.

    Bezoar

Wet, the copal is sweet, sharp, and resinous. The cardamom keeps the lift as the tolu smooths everything out and turns the blend more creamy. Dried out Bezoar is polished wood, like the handel of a well worn pipe.

    fizzy, sorta carbonated, sparkling blends?

I have to 2nd this-it's what I came over to say!

I used to wear Fendi ALL the time. I find it to be more like a spicy, leathery oriental. You may try The Caterpillar and Hand of Glory.

    Lambs-Wool

This is the dreaded craftstore smell on me. Apple, mulling spices and some butter.

    Red Devil

Rawr! Smells like sweet red and black musk, patchouli, cinnimon and jasmine.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Not that I have found. I actually just bought a new bottle of Magie Noire. Loooooove her. It smells like rapberry dark chocolate, dried roses and incense on me. This is exactly what I'm waiting for from a BPAL oud. It's a hot note right now in the perfume world. I want it dark, dank, and dirty!

    The Last Squished Jellybean

Ooh, fun! I really thought this was going to be fruity when I saw it (hadn't read reviews). It was at once cinnimon and absinthe. It dries out almost clovey but with more of a feel of carnation with a touch of vetiver-not too sweet. A playful yet really wearable candy frag-not too kiddo, if you know what I mean!

Limited editions equivalents in the general catalog?

I think Raven Moon and Miss Lupascru are sisters.

So you're devastated about Antique Lace...

Honestly, when I smell straight up vanilla-musk at Whole Body, it smells just like Antique Lace on me. When I wear AL people have even said, "Oooh, vanilla musk?".
