  1. A barren grove, silent. Dry, crumbling oak leaves dance through the skeletal, grasping arms of ancient trees.

Yes. If you loved the candle (like I do!), you will not be disappointed! This is a bit greener? than the candle somehow and is a perfect cold weather scent. The green is sort of cologney but not in a bad way. Cold forest in winter but no evergreen. Love. I am so glad to have this!

  2. Wonderful strong patchouli, sweetened by the other notes. It is so well blended, nothing else stands out to me, but the fig and amber are detectable. I love it!

Eta: After a few months of aging, Nasty Woman has morphed into an ideal scent for me. I don't know how to describe it but the patchouli is almost sparkly yet refined and the other notes are much more discernable now. I love it!

  3. How beautiful this is! The lavender is prominent, like I had hoped and I smell a bit of musk underneath and only a touch of leaves with some sweet florals. I am so glad I was able to buy a bottle on etsy...this is a special perfume!

ETA this oil is a semi dark reddish brown! Quite unexpected!

  4. Patchouli absolute, white orris, agarwood, and ambrette seed.

    Wow.

Something comes across as honey or beeswax ish which I can't stand on my skin. In the next 15 minutes it transforms and blossoms...the patchouli and orris are a great combo. It reminds me of an earthier Dance of Death (which I love) and then I think I start smelling the ambrette and it turns into an almost sweet, sensual outdoorsy scent. Whatever it is, it smells comforting and I can only imagine how well this will age. It feels like a late Autumn scent to me, so I will put it away till then. Another beautiful creation and I am happy to have a bottle.

ETA: I give. I cannot stop huffing my wrists...it feels like Our Lady of Pain with the lavender replaced with orris...feels. Absolute love. I think I need a bottle to cellar...anyone waffling on this? Don't. It is a masterpiece.

ETA 2: this keeps getting better. I had to edit the funky bit I wrote because it just isn't happening anymore. Pure love.

  5. I am so excited to finally have a bottle of Peace!

I smelled lavender like most people but now I'm also smelling some violet, which I quite like. I also smell vanilla or tonka. Peace smells beautiful. I will add more to this review after I use it for its intended purpose tomorrow.

ETA: What a beautiful oil. I am a very high stress person and although this oil doesn't necessarily calm me, it is so beautiful that I cannot stay angry or frustrated. Beautiful.

  6. I decided to take a last minute chance with this one and I'm not sure if I like it. I don't smell any pink pepper or patchouli...just lots of strawberry (yum) and rum (not so yum). I will let it sit for a few weeks and hope the patchouli will drown the rum!

Eta: Beautiful. The patchouli and pink pepper are doing the most exotic dance. This is exquisite and I am so glad I took a chance.

  7. I came here to write a review but LiberAmoris already wrote a better version of what I had to say.

I tested this when I first got the decant and was underwhelmed. I tested again last night and just now and yup, knocking my socks off. I love it.

ETA: This is aging beautifully. Now it is all about the saffron and rosewood...gorgeous.

  8. Whoa. Could this be the only perfume where anise works on my skin??? I know I compare lots of perfumes to each other and as much as I dislike doing it, this is reminding me of SL Rousse like crazy!!! They smell similar but the sparkly vibe is the same. Oh dear...if you avoid anise (like I do) this might just be the exception. Wow.

  9. This is one of the most interesting perfumes I have ever smelled...in the best way! I can pick out all of the notes just after I put it on but then everything melds into chocolate, pepper fantasy backed by clove, which is my least favorite part of this. If you don't want to smell like anyone else, this is your perfume! I would buy a bottle but the clove, minute though it may be, is just too much for me. Really artsy and well done!

  10. This is so similar to a certain BPAL favorite of mine that I had to check the label after a few hours. Pure love here, and to think I almost passed it by because of the honey, which I never really smell. There is certainly a smoky aspect to this but it is very light. Wowza. This may be my other backup bottle purchase from this Luper update!!! Chewy patchouli and vanilla with just a hint of smoke.

  11. I do not like honey/beeswax type notes...they never smell good on me, but I read Lilac fougere with lime and had to try it and hoped the honey would be in the background. Well, nope. This is all about the honey, so much that I never end up smelling lilac or lime, just a hint of fougere. That said, after an hour on my skin it smells pretty nice! I was going to sell my decant but now I'm having second thoughts. Honey haters? This may work for you...just sayin'. :-)
