  1. I love this blend. The only worry for me was the honey, and it plays nicely here because it understands that the Vanilla soaked linen accord, lavender and jasmine are the stars. Kind of sweet, but this is one sultry blend...I'm always a sucker for lavender, and this lavender blends so well! The Opium poppy even likes my skin for a change. I think I will be wearing this one quite a bit this season, and late spring.

  2. All of these notes (even together) should have been a big win for me, but the blend on my skin was not a win. Very boggy moss...the grapefruit was there till drydown, but it was really doing strange things with the moss. Hmmm...I didn't smell Orris, but the honey was certainly present. Glad I got to try this one, but it will find a new home...poor thing. :)

  3. POST-MORTEM LAUREATUS
    Post-Mortem Laureatus, Loghi Kimon.
    White sandalwood and twining ivy.

I seriously cannot believe no one has reviewed this yet! :wub2: I loved this at Will Call and I love it in my bottle...this is one of the nicest fresh GREEN scents...all Ivy with just a touch of sandalwood underneath. It is kind of loud while it is wet, but the drydown is silky smooth. I detect a wee bit o musk in this while it is drying, kind of like the phantom musk in October...it's good. If you are a fan of green scents without mint, give this a try...it's a 9.5/10 on the Amy scale of love.

ETA: This screams Spring to me...even though it will be beautiful year round.

  4. This smells different to me than the bottle out at will call, but I can't complain - it's awesomesauce!

Wet, it smells like a Apple Cider Fruit Punch. :yum:

While it dries, the spices (namely the cinnamon) come to the fore and :whack: me on the nose. Then...oh then...the apple comes back, the spices settle down, and it is beautiful. It's a sparkling harvest cider, and I love it.

  5. The Lady of the Graveyard! Autumn leaves, wild roses, bourbon vanilla, dry chamomile, and a bouquet of bright chrysanthemums and Mexican marigolds.

Aw...I'm first? La Calavera Catrina is one of the most beautiful Autumnal scents ever. The Autumn flowers are perfectly blended, and the vanilla sweetens them up. There's a hint of rose, and chamomile, but neither one overpowers the blend. I get a hint (or more a "feel") of leaves, and they are definitely the crunchy sort that have already fallen to the ground. If you liked Flor de Muerto and Nothing Gold Can Stay, I would highly recommend this. 10/10

ETA: I just wanted to add that this has aged so beautifully and I get compliments every time I wear it. Every. Time. It has become really well blended and more perfumey which is just fine with me! Gorgeous scent and I hope I don't run out.

  6. I'm so glad to see others comparing this to a Samhain vibe...that's what I smell too. But...I can't wear Samhain, and I can wear (and enjoy) this. It starts off really sharp and menthol-y and dries down to a lighter, smoother cousin of Samhain. I don't love it, but I am glad to have a bottle. Good stuff!

  7. Thirded that this is a dry apple - it is so beautiful! I think the Moonflower is the supporting player here, with the agave sweetening it up a bit. I have worn this 3 times now, and I still don't detect the Orris (which is one of my favorite notes), but it doesn't bum me out because the scent is so beautiful!

  8. This is a cousin to Sugar Plum Fairy...but with Pumpkin instead of Plum. I like it much more after a proper testing than I did at will call. A nice light pumpkin with amber, vanilla, cocoa, guava and tiare. Very nice...and what an adorable label!!!

Edited to add that this has aged beautifully and I wish I hadnt sold my bottle!

  9. Not sure why this is happening (or how this is possible), but after rolling the bottle (holy cocoa bathman!) and applying I smell lemon tea tree.

This should not smell like Lemon anything...and I don't like the smell of tea tree, so I'm hoping my sniffer is way messed up from being sick and that I will get the lovely hay and patchouli that I'm itching for... I will revise my review if this changes. Fingers crossed...

ETA: Yes, wet this was Lemon Tea Tree or Myrtle...very strange. Dry, my boyfriend kept saying it smelled like a cedar chest (?) and it did have a woodsy vibe to it. Hmmm...definitely deserves another proper test, and I'm hoping my opinion of it will change.

  10. It always amazes me how much different scents smell to me when I actually have a bottle as opposed to sniffing them at will call. ? Anyway...

Black Apple of Saturn is all Apple and Oppoponax on me...and that makes me a very happy girl. So Good.

ETA: Now that this has had some time to settle, I'm able to pick out more of the notes in the blend...like Tobacco and Myrrh. I would love to have Cypress make an appearance, and I think I'm smelling the Quince as well...this is some really good stuff. I love it.

ETA: The Cypress has shown up! The Black Apple of Saturn is amazing. :thud:

  11. I'm on day 4 of a nasty sinus infection, and my sniffer has been working just a bit today. I got my weenie order and this was the one I tried today. I LOVE IT. Vanilla, Amber, Incense, Leaves and something aquatic. If you took October and smoothed her over with vanilla and amber, it would smell something like Sonnet D'Automne. I hope this isn't my sniffer playing tricks on me...I hope this smells the same a week from now when I can smell properly again. :) I will edit if my opinion changes, but for the moment this gets a solid 9.5/10.

ETA: my sniffer is almost back, and I tried this again tonight... :wub2: I want to bathe in it...seriously, this is my favorite of ALL the Weenies...ever.

  12. Just to update...I haven't been on the computer from yesterday around noon until tonight, and I got a CnS yesterday around 6:30 PST. I'm glad I don't have multiple orders out there, otherwise I wouldn't know which one this was...the paypal ID number and the BPAL shipping number are different. Oh well...at least I know it's on its way. :) I hope everyone gets their CnS's or packages soon...

  13. I juuust got a CnS for my 9/8 order (US order, via PayPal). I never get confirmation emails through the Lab, just the standard PayPal "you sent a payment" email.

Porcelina, you've got the right address. Don't freak out yet-- I think the Weenie rush has backed up orders and communications, too. Hang in there!

Thank you for posting - I know there must have been tons of orders...I just freak out. :) Can't wait for my CnS. :)

  14. if i email the lab my order after paying through paypal, should i expect confirmation? i placed my big order on sept. 12 and emailed them the details the same day, then sent a follow-up a week later and haven't gotten any kind of response. i've never had to do this before and i'm nervous about my order details being misplaced. :(

I was a bit leery of paying through Paypal for my Weenie order of doom, but I did it anyway. I then emailed a list of the scents to answers@... and got a confirmation from Bill later that day (or the next day - it was soon after though). However...I'm seeing all of these CnS's going out that were ordered after mine...and I know sometimes there's a hold up with a bottle or 5, but I really want these...and this is the longest I have had to wait for an order. Just a bit worried...emailed customer service just to check and maybe get an estimated shipping date on Saturday, and still no word. Oh well. I'm just ranting. To answer your question, I believe you should have gotten a confirmation email from customer service. You may want to email just to be on the safe side...

  15. I was gifted a sniffie of this, and I was really tempted to not even open the decant...

Wow. If that isn't the most delicious Vanilla I have ever smelled, I don't know what is. :joy: ? :cry2: !

I wonder what this is a prototype for...I see the letters CD which might be Carnavale Diabolique, but I have no idea. I hope it gets released someday - I would buy a bottle or 2.

  16. I'm really trying hard to like this blend...there's something that isn't quite right on my skin and smells almost peppery, but not.

Wet, I smell the orchid, pear, amber and blue musk. It is really nice in the wet stage.

About an hour later, the olibanum comes out front and center and this blend reminds me of Odd Portents without the lavender. I think I can smell the tonka providing a semi-sweet creaminess underneath the olibanum. The pear is still fairly prominent, and I think the gardenia is peeking out at me - and that may be where I start to have trouble.

So, I like this so much when it is wet, and the drydown is beautiful, just maybe not on my skin. I'd still rate it a 7/10.

  17. YAY! Another Pomegranate that works on my skin! YAY! This is truly beautiful...

Wet, I can pick out the purple musk, amber, oakmoss and pomegranate

About an hour later, the pomegranate is still going strong (but it's so beautiful) and tempered with tobacco, and the amber and musk. I think I can smell the red sandalwood...

This is one heck of a blend - another masterpiece, and perfect for the last month of summer. 9/10
