Very perfumy - not to my liking. Will try again, but don’t think I like it

When I first put it on I was totally struck with a Deja Vu moment - I knew I had smelled this fragrance before somewhere in my youth (I’m currently 47) - but I could not place it. I had my husband smell it and he got the same feeling. We finally placed it - it smells EXACTLY like Spencers Gifts used to smell - all incensy, sweetie, different - very unusual and a trip back to my past.

Snake Oil blended with Dorian, plus soft vanilla flower, lily of the valley, lavender, and fennel. Sweet sweet sweet. I don't know what it is about Snake oil, but it's just too heavy and sweet for me - such a shame as so many like it a lot.

At first I smelled a little bit of the pine, then just dried to clean scent. Dried down to nothing very quickly which was dissapointing because I wanted it to stick around.

Smells like baby powder squared on me. Hmmmm…. don’t think I like it.

All I'm getting from this one is cologne - no undertones, just sort of in your face bright smell. More masculine.

I really liked this one. It’s sweet smelling, but not in a way that gave me a headache - must be the yummy vanilla. A keeper Once again tried the imp first, then sought out a bottle

I was surprised by how much I liked this one. Out of the bottle - very sweet, dried down and was very nice - still sweet, but not headhache sweet. Got an imp first, then searched out a bottle.

Very interesting scent. Right out of the decant on my skin it smelled just like pine trees at christmas, very quickly died down to a almost cigarette smoke mens cologne smell. Smells like Polo when it dries down.

When it first goes on me it smelled just like sugar cookies baking. Dried down quickly to a slightly soapy sugar smell. Very nice fades quickly. Stays very close to the skin.

This was not a good one on me - let's just say that! On my skin it ws a fake plasticky pumpkin pie smell. I tried several times to wash it off and hubbie had to open all the windows in the house.

To me this smelled like fake plastic cotton candy - yuck

I like it - seems light, didnt stay on me very long. Slightly sweet, slightly floral but not too much of either.

On me this smelled like a syrupy sweet baby powder - not good!

2008 Version: In the bottle it smells very much like old lady perfume, put it on and it’s very strong, very sweet, almost too sweet for me. Dried down to have some very nice undertones. My husband liked the smell of it

When I first put it on it almost smelled a little lemony - must be the ginger I am smelling. Anyway - quite pleasant. Then as it dries it turned sweet on me and just kind of meh - I wonder what in the world could be turning sweet on me with this description - ginger, cinnamon, mold flecked dirt, cumin, bitter clove, leather and dried blood - hmmmm

I have put this on three days in a row now - so I obviously like it. I don't get any particular scents coming out, but it's soft, soothing and likeable (without a huge throw).

Water-logged and rotting wood, fallen chestnuts, oak leaf, bog laurel, and Virginia creeper. Wow - this isn't what I was expecting at all! When I first put it on I got a huge whiff of sweet tarts (very odd) then quickly went to a very bright slightly soap big throw perfume. Not like any swamp I've ever smelled in my life. Once I get past it not smelling soft and mucky like a swamp I kind of like it.

This is the very first BPAL I ever tried - I’m off to a really great start. Out of the bottle I smell deep dark rich chocolate and smoky caramel - but not sweet at all. As it dries down, the spicy hot woodyness remains and the chocolate vaporizes. A keeper and one of my favorites.

I was expecting big things out of this one. I can’t smell any mint at all. The scent is not bad, but just sort of there and blah.

I liked this one a lot, slightly sweet and soapy. Very soothing.

I found this to be slightly cologney, but crisp, nice and soothing. A keeper.
