In the imp this is like contained pine sap. It made me think of all the time I spent attempting to climb the pine tree that used to be in our front yard when I was younger. I would come in the house with sticky smelly hands and that was exactly what it smelled like. Once this dries down, it gets SWEET! And kinda berry-ish. I dunno, but I like it.

This starts off like Sugar Skull 05 covered in chocolate. And then LOADS OF CINNAMON comes up. I still smell the sugar & chocolate, but the cinnamon is beating them off with a stick of.. cinnamon. ;_; I smell like a candle or something. Unless this fades a bit as it dries, this might end up going to swaps. I mean.. I like it, but.. Maybe I shouldn't have slathered. Boo. I think it's just too strong. We'll see. It's a keeper, but just barely. I might have to try it again with less um.. Slathering next time.

Guh. I smell like I bathed in chocolate brownie batter. Wet this is liquidy brownie mix with big chunks of baking chocolate. Once it dries down, it's got a powdery element. Like I just opened a box of brownie mix and ripped the bag open all over my counter, completely missing the mixing bowl.. Not that I've ever done that or anything. I'm just guessing, you see. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have as much throw as I'd like it to. Oh well, I'll just have to slather it on again. :D *goes slather happy* This might be my first catalog bottle purchase.

In the bottle this is pure vanilla extract. Yeah, I need a napkin. I'm already drooling. Once on, it keeps the vanilla smell for about a nanosecond and then goes to.. Um. What is that? Oh no. It's going sour. Oh wait, oh wait. Mmmmm cheesecake. No, no. Still sour. I swear. I hope this doesn't stay sour on me. :D BAH! I will make you work for me, Beaver. Even if I have to demote you to a room scent, you will submit!

Wow. This is pure apricots on me. But, it has the texture of the dried fruit, not the fresh fruit. This is gooddddd. Not a winter scent though, so I think I'll hang on to it until spring or summer. Mmm
-
Wow. This is all spicy apple on me. The pumpkin that I love isn't as prominent in this blend, making it go kinda potpourri (sp?) smelly on me. I only just applied, so maybe it'll lighten up a bit.

WTF? CARDBOARD??! No, wait.. Cut wood planks? Damnit, damnit, damnit! No musks, no herbs.. just.. ew. Blood Moon, you've broken my heart!
-
Ick. I'm not sure I like this much. In the imp it's so sharp and reminds me of something else.. Not a perfume, but some sort of.. medicinal thing. I have no idea, really but.. icky. On me, all I smell is (what I think is) the vetiver. Meh. I'm not sure it would smell any better on the boy, so.. Swaps it is!

Holy COW. Is there any way I can develop this scent into something edible? Because, OMG. Ok. In the imp, I got a really strong butter smell. Ew, I thought, this smells strong & yucky. But, I put it on and WOO! The butter smell dies down considerably, the peach comes up, mixes and forms this.. pie-like smell. Peach cobbler-esque. With spices. I tested Dorian on a different part of the same arm and they seem to be mixing in the air with each other and yum. Jack is definitely a scent for cold weather and hot tea. I'm going to have to try layering them at some point in the very near future.

Ohmy. I think I love this. It's musky but the vanilla makes it slightly sweeter. There's a hint of sharp lemon, but only if you inhale too deep. Guh. I like this a lot. This is going to be worn quite a bit, probably.

Upon opening the imp I got strong strong corn and I cringed. Because... ew??? But, I had read the reviews so I wasn't TOO worried. On my skin it morphs INSTANTLY (thank goodness!) and gets very sugary and sweet. The corn is still there in the background, but the sugar comes up front right away. It smells vaguely like I remember candy corn smelling, but I just get a general creamy sugar smell. Not too bad. But, I think I might prefer Sugar Skull with with fruity note over this.

In the bottle it's very.. medicinal and mentholated. Maybe it's pine. I thought we'd get along, but now I'm not so sure because it's getting flowery. Eugh. I'll have to try it again next week, I was just too eager to try it today. Edit as of Nov 9: Ugh. I really don't think Belladonna & I are going to get along here. I have no idea what I'm smelling at this point, but it's familiar and I know I don't like it. Bummer.

I'm getting roses, roses, roses, and a bit more of the roses. I've had this on for a little while now and I'm still getting pure rose. I was hoping for a bit more of the incense and a bit less of the roses, so we'll see if it morphs at all. I don't think it will, but I'll hold off on throwing it to the swaps because it might work next week.

I opened this imp and was like.. BZUH?! VELVET?? Because I got this straight up minty chocolate smell. o_O But, on? Oh where did that chocolate smell go? I don't know WHAT I'm smelling now. Musk, maybe? If it's musk, this type obviously does not agree with my skin & nose, because I don't like it much. It smells waxy. Bummer. I'm not getting any smoke, booze or sugar goodness. I'll edit if it morphs into something better.

Oh god. Sugar Skull, I love you. In the imp, it's such a difficult scent to pick apart. I had my dad sniff it, and he even agreed that it smells SO GOOD (which is rare, btw). It smells buttery, but sweet. More sweet than butter, though. It's like.. sweet popcorn? I'm not sure. I still can't place what it is, exactly. I put this one first when I got my decants from Wacky yesterday and then I reapplied it again today. Now, I'm getting a very heavy spicy fruit. Like, an apple pie or a mixed fruit cobbler (or something) with cinnamon-y crumb topping. YUM! This is what I thought Harvest Moon would smell like. Don't get me wrong, I love Harvest Moon and have been wearing it plenty, but this.. Sugar Skull is so much love. I didn't think I would like it, because I thought it was going to be just.. pure white sugar. Not dark brown sugar and maple syrup-y. Oh god. Apple. Apple pie is wafting into my face and I love it. a;lskgh;l

I'm just trying this out as a scent right now, because.. Well, I have no one to seduce and thus do not need to feel sensual etc etc. This goes on completely ylang-ylang and then goes directly to floral. But, it's not a bad overpowering sweet floral. It smells dark blue and stem green. I have Fae on my other arm and they're mixing in the air by my face and oh wow. They actually smell rather lovely together. The fizzy peach in Fae mixes fabulously with the green and blue floral of Seduction. I'm not sure how soon this is going to get eaten by my skin, but most Panacea & Somnus blends get used up pretty quickly. I think that's more because they are made to be used not to be worn (not that they can't be worn just for their pretty smells) and once they are done, they're done. Not that I'm complaining about this, mind you, because I think that's pretty neat. Yeah, in the time it took me to write that, it's already starting to fade out a bit. Well, mellow out and become softer, at least. I have to get real close to sniff it.. when I do, though, it's all up in my nose. o_o

Ok, in the imp, Fae is all peach. To the point where I almost thought we weren't going to get along. Thank goodness I was wrong. It smells. LOVELY. I'm not sure I can pinpoint what it is, exactly, that makes me love it so, but once it's on my skin, the peach mellows out and something else comes forward. Possibly the musk mellowing the peach out but it might be the heliotrope (I have no idea what that smells like, so I'm just guessing here). Whatever it is, it's making the peach very fizzy and a bit erm. Less sweet? Not spicy, but.. I'm not sure what it is. But, this is good. I probably won't end up with a 5mL, but I'll definitely be using up this imp in good time. Who knows, maybe I will end up with a 5mL. Edit: I just realized.. for all the love that I have for fruity smells (B&BW line, mostly), this is the first BPAL fruity scent that's worked on my chemistry!

Ok. Opening the imp and putting it on gave me such a strong smell of eucalyptus and I was reminded of something my uncle used to wear (probably that Eternity for Men or CK One that was mentioned early on) when I was younger. Ugh. No. This smells too much like cologne on me. If I had a man to try this on, I might keep it, but my 'man' is all the way up in Canada, and he already has something that he wears, so, meh. Off to the swap pile, you smelly thing.

Beltane smells like dandelions and daffodils in the imp but once it goes on my skin it gets this soapy note and within the hour (very early in that hour, btw) it fades very quickly. I have to sniff deeply to get anything and I'm really not getting a wafting scent. It's not ew-inducing but it's not omg-must-have-more either. I might give it one more run before letting it go to the swap pile.
-
Damnit. Why is it that I love fruity scents usually (AKA Bath & Body Works fruity stuff) but fruity BPAL goes strong and cloying and.. generally 'ew' on me? This is such a bummer. Fruit Moon, Titania & now Forbidden Fruit all go kinda gross on me. Yuck, yuck, yuck. To the swap pile. AWAY!
-
This is sweet but clean? Not sweet enough to be sticky, but just sweet enough. It brings to mind freshly laundered white sheets being hung on the line in a backyard of freshly cut grass in midspring. I'm not sure if it's something I'd regularly wear, but I'm glad the Lab sent it as a frimp because it's not that was on my wishlist.
-
This is very fruity, but there's a bit of floral in the back (obviously flowers in here!) and it goes a bit Jolly Rancher, as some have already mentioned, though I definitely smell peach and not watermelon. As it starts to dry down, though, it turns.. and I'm not sure I like it much. This one might be heading to the swaps.

This was one of the imps I was waiting for so impatiently andddddd I finally slathered it on. For some reason it's not the one I reached for first. I smell the rosewood right off the bat... and GAH! It seems like that is going to stick. Well, now that I keep sniffing (maybe I'm sniffing the rosewood away!), there's something else coming up to play, but I'm not sure what it is. I'll have to find out another time, because if I keep sniffing my arm I'm going to start coughing. Ohohohoh. WAIT! (Like I could ever stop sniffing a new scent. Stupidstupidstupid. *slaps forehead* What was I thinking??) It's smelling a bit green? That's probably the rosewood mellowing a bit, but it's calming nicely. Yum. I do like this, but not enough to order a big bottle. I'll use the imp in good time, I'm sure. Edit: OMGDEEILOVEYOU! The rosewood has DEFINITELY mellowed out some and the leather & parchment/woods are starting to peek out. Yummy. Second Edit: Yes. This, I think, is my new favorite scent. It has dried down beautifully and the tonka & woods are blending perfectly and the rosewood has mellowed a bit more to be just a background sweetness and..a ;lkshdgalkhsg Lovely.

This has a small hint of juicy.. something, but it's very smoky and heady. It almost reminds me of the way my dad's winter coats used to smell when I was a kid when he still smoked. But, it's sweeter and. Yumyumyumyumyum. And, as it's drying, it seems to be getting sweeter and sweeter. Not massively so, but enough so that the sweetness is coming up to fight (not in a bad way, mind you) with the smoky smell of incense.. smoke.

Oh, hello dirt! That is exactly what this smells like and I LOVE IT. I'm not getting any specific notes from this one.. Just dirt! Damp black earth from a forest floor. Yaye!
