    Mata Hari

Ick coffee... I *hate* the smell of coffee. And this is like the most bitter, acrid coffee note ever. >_< I'm not even getting any of the other listed notes at all... just this overwhelmingly nauseating coffee bean scent. Definitely a swapper.

    Midnight

An ethereal bouquet of night-blooming flowers. Evening primrose, ruellia, flowering nicotiana, wild petunia, panani-o-kai, night phlox, night gladiolus, moonflower and the elusive scent of Nottingham Catchfly. Oh... I was hoping the moonflower in this would be gorgeous but instead I'm getting something that smells like bitter medicine. >_< I'm not even sure which one it is, but it's sour and almost rancid. I have no clue which note this may be, but it needs to die. Now.

    The Scales of Deprivation

Lavender without that spicy kick that I normally associate with it. I tend to get a better lavender with the fougere with the BPAL blends. I was expecting the lemon peel to perk this up a bit, but I don't smell it at all. An overabundance of sage perhaps (which I'm slowly discovering that my skin likes to amp up) and a harsh sandalwood (another amper), along with vetiver and frankincense (2 notorious blends that hate me and my skin chemistry)... I think this blend may have almost every single note that I dislike or that doesn't work out on me in it. All it needs now is some dirt and myrrh and I think it may be set!

    Machu Picchu

Hot tropical blooms with a faint fruity sugar sweetness overtone. Not bad at all. I'm also getting a faint ozone note that's blended together into this wonderfully. A wonderfully "tropical" scent that isn't overpowered with fruits. (Not that that would be a bad thing... I happen to love the fruits!)

    The Lion

Spicy powder is all I'm getting out of this one. Amber is usually hit or miss with me on the powder thing... I guess I'll just have to chalk this one up to a miss. And it sounded so good too.

    Obatala

Can definitely smell the coconut meat and the odd sour note that I usually get with shea butter. This blend is overtly coconut-y, a certain note that I just don't like.

    Alecto

Darn vetiver. It has to ruin everything it touches for me. Although this overwhelming cedar note isn't helping much either. Some days I really dislike how much my skin amps up woods beyond belief. This may be one of them. Off to swap.

    White Rabbit

Strong black tea and milk with white pepper, ginger, honey and vanilla, spilled over the crisp scent of clean linen. On wet, I get a heady black tea and a strong pepper spice. After the drydown more of the ginger comes rolling out. I also get that odd sour note I"ve come to expect from BPAL's honey notes. < sigh > I ws hoping it'd smell a lot better on me but the ginger and black tea just make this way too bitter for me. Off to the swap pile.

    Antique Lace

I think I'm getting a creamy vanilla from this? After the initial drydown, I get a bit more of a light green floral. It's a sweet (almost syrupy) floral blend. Very nice smelling but florals just aren't personally my thing.

    Antony

Hrm... not at all a bad scent. This smells like a nice masculine cologne on me. The sage note gets amped up a bit by my chemistry but I think I rather like it. Of course, the true test will be trying it out on my husband...

    Tiger Lily

Smells a bit like calla lilies. I was hoping for a bit more stargazer but ah well.... After the drydown, this turns to soap on me.

    Les Fleurs du Mal

At first whiff I get a very nice rose note, but the lilac isn't right... like it's an oddly dry bitter note. Doesn't work on me at all.

La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente

Hmmm... this one actually smells a bit cool and autumny. I get a soft berry in a cool aquatic with this blend. After the initial drydown, a soft rose emerges and mingles about. Not a bottle buy just yet, but the imp will be staying for awhile.

    Envy

All I get out of this one is a minty lime. Like some sort of chilled summer-time drink. Not bad at all, but not for me either.
  15. PilotKitten

    Kumiho

A crisp white tea scent. I barely get any ginger in this one on me at all. Nice tea blend but I prefer others over it.

    Kuang Shi

Gak... *really* heavy on the white musk and sandalwood. This is amped up beyond belief on me. I don't get any lovely orange or mango, just this horrific musky wood. Slightly sour overtones as well. Swap pile for sure.

    House of Night

Green floral blend. Not to bad actually... I don't normally like any of the scents in this category. It's a sweet floral with just a faint touch of sugary-ness. I'm not a *huge* floral fan, so this will still be going off into the swap pile but it's not bad at all.

    Grand Guignol

Can definitely pick out apricot but it's very faint. After the drydown, it turns to soap on me. < sigh > And this one sounded soooo good too.

    Forbidden Fruit

A cheery citrus scent. It's actually pretty reminiscent of Versailles. But tamer somehow. After the drydown this turns to soap on my skin though.

    Lyonesse

Hrm... a bright vanilla is the predominant note when on wet. After the drydown, it's still the vanilla but creamier and muskier. This blend is okay for an amber, but there's others that I prefer more.

    Jazz Funeral

This starts off with a very dry mossy overtone to it. Moss and dirt.

    Dove's Heart

I"m finding out that unless a lavender is tempered somewhat with say a vanilla or something to take the edge off, I just don't like it. So count me out of liking this blend. Lavender is supposed to be all this aromatherapy soothness and such but on me it's just a kick you in the head spicyness that isn't soothing at all.

    Darkness

All I'm getting from this blend is dusty opium and twisted, amped up myrrh. Neither I like, this blend just isn't for me.

    Delight

Interesting blend. I have no clue what frangipani smells like but on me, it smells a little bit like dust. I can pick up the faintest whiff of jasmine and tuberose before this blend disappears on me completely.

    Jezirat Al Tennyn

This blend seriously smells like dirt on me. O_o Dirt and perhaps a light aquatic in there as well. What do you get when you mix dirt and water? Mud... and that's all this smells like to me. Blech.
