Patchouli, sandalwood and frankincense. All notes that amp up horribly on my skin. Ick... this smells horribly musky on me. Woods, wood and more wood. Definitely not for me.

    Manhattan

Ooh this smells deliciously yummy! Like a hot lemon tea. Oh this is sucha comforting scent. At least it doesn't smell all exhaust fumes and such like one would expect Manhattan to smell like.

    Vicomte de Valmont

Oooh... WONDERFUL men's scent!! I personally love wearing these types of blends on myself and I absolutely go insane when my man is wearing them. Oh yes... definitely a bottle of this one!! I love how my favorite men's scents have this heady floral overtone to them that just manages to smell so much manlier than woods or what people generally think of as men's scents. Oh, I just can't describe it in words... it's just so scrumptious. If my husband was wearing this? I'd definitely jump him.

    Hurricane

The Dark Side of Air: a high pitched, tangy, clear scent -- light China rain deepened by murky vetivert. I'm quickly discovering that vetiver simply hates me. Or maybe I hate it. This is so very musky and harsh on my skin. It smells almost rotting... ick.

    Succubus

Bittersweet citrus. Spicy hint of clove. Somewhat reminiscent of christmas-time pomanders.... but drier and lighter. Okay scent, just not for me.

    Sheol

A bright, somewhat sour scent. It smells floral but there's this strange sour note to it that I have no clue what it is. Perhaps the copal, since it's the only note I haven't smelled before. Anyhow... after drydown it's still this slightly sour, dry note. Not for me.

    Vinland

The wild roses in this are more predominant than I expected. Which is a GREAT thing since I love the roses. The rest smells like the ends of a beautiful meadon just before turning into the forest glen. Wonderful scent... it smells like a forest without being nothing but woods. Lovely lovely... along with the rose I may need a full bottle of this.

    Juke Joint

Minty. After the initial drydown I can definitely smell the bourbon... it's got that nice sweet scent without the really heavy alcohol overtones. I'd love to smell this on my husband. <3

    Jolly Roger

This blend is a very salty, masculine blend on me. Slight tinge of sweetness from the rum I suppose. After the initial drydown, this turns to cheap hotel soap on me.

    Les Bijoux

Mmm.. wonderful ripe juicy red delicious apples! I'm so glad the honey doesn't screw this up for me like BPAL's honey notes seem to do. Wonderful bright scent. This isn't a sexually seductive fragrance, this is the perfect mate, best friend, you're my better half, wooing scent. Of picnics outdoors and kisses under the stars. Wonderfully sweet and oh so right. The skin musk in this is such an intriguing note. It's such a light musk with a hint of sweetness to it.

    Cockaigne

Dry cakes.... very reminiscent of All Souls actually. A bitter dry cake scent that I just haven't ever liked. I think BPAL's honey blends all smell like this on me, strangely enough... I guess honey just doesn't like my skin chemistry. This smells foody and I'm sure someone out there would love it for that reason, but on me, it's just too much of a dry and almost nutty quality to it.

    Port Royal

At first sniff this smells absolutely wonderful! A tropical sweetness (not a fruity though) with just a faint hint of wood and a perfumey incense wafting about. The spiced rum in this blend is sweet and spicy and just so yummy, I wish I could find me a bottle! A warm scent with a slight touch of sea air this blend is very piratey indeed. Yarr!!

    Two, Five & Seven

Mmm... I'm not sure which rose note it is, but there's an almost sugary sweet one tossed in that just makes this blend smell divine! Surprisingly enough this blend isn't too heavy or heady at all! A wonderful rose, rose and rose with a faint hint of sweet herbal grass. Perfect.

    Nuit

At first I get a definite scent of moonflower and a yummy spicy note (egyptian incense I believe). After the initial drydown there's a very nice blend of white musk and a soft jasmine. Not as outstanding as I expected it to smell, but still a great blend nonetheless.

    F5

Refreshing indeedy! This is a bright cheery summer blend just perfect for a warm summer's day lounging out in the yard with a good book. Mostly aloe and green tea on me with just a faint hint of a salty seaspray.

    Moon Rose

Oh wow. A wonderfully ethereal floral blend. There's a lovely dusting of moonflower and a very light aquatic note over the palest rose imaginable. I feel like I'm really wandering out into a moonlight garden on a cool night, surrounded by this evocative scent.

    Blood Rose

Oooh yummy! God, this is just soo sexy! It's a wonderful sumptuous red velvety rose dowsed in a sweet red wine. Oh wow, sooo glad I managed to snag this one up in a 10mL before they went bye-bye. This is just wonderful!! The dragon's blood lends a sweetness to it without overpowering... so delicious.

    Three Brides

Mmm... that moroccan rose is just divine! A wonderfully blended floral that isn't too heady or heavy at all. After the initial drydown some of the most gorgeously golden amber comes out and mingles with the rose. I'm super glad that the carnation in this isn't even noticeable on me. Very nice rose blend with surprising floral touches.

    Silence

Hmmm... gods I love that moonflower. It's so sweet and clear. The green tea and white peach lend this scent a wonderful lightness to it. And this scent *is* really a lot like Black Moon. Definitely another bottle of this. < nods >

The Fox-Woman Kuzunoha Leaving Her Child

White tea is very strong in this at first but it almost immediately backs off and lets in the wisteria blooms. This one is actually hard for me to describe well. It's a crisp sweet floral with just a hint of sugary sweetness. The jasmine doesn't come up as much as I would like it to, but that's actually better I think.

    Cloister Graveyard in the Snow

This smells like a chill winter wind. Slightly minty but full of ozone-y freshness. The frankincense is a bit more harsh than I thought it would be, but it still manages to fit. This blend almost feels like it should've been a Yule LE, it's that evocative of winter's desolation and loneliness. One of the musks in this has a slightly sweetened tinge to it that is just wonderful. And the mint isn't at all as harsh as I envisioned. Very nice and exact intrepretation of this painting I believe.

    Gennivre, L’Artiste du Diable

This one is like a brief slideshow of each of the listed notes. At first I get a heavy tea leaf, then a sweet lemongrass, a whiff of a light mint leaf, and finally a tart orange blossom. So strange... they're not blended into each other, they just sort of kick each other out of the way completely. After the drydown though, they mix it up a little bit. Still a slightly heavier minty feel with an orange blossom background. Not sure I liked it at first, but it's growing on me a little bit. Probably too minty for me to wear often though.

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

Weee Cherry blowpops!! Just like I was hoping I'd get! The orange peel lends a hint of juicy ripe citrus to the mix, like I've just sliced open a rind with small droplets of fine orange mist hanging in the air. This is a lovely fruity with just the right hint of sugar and floral goodness added to not make it like every other fruit blend out there. Love this... sooo glad I got 2 bottles.

    Melisande, The Puppet Mistress

Jasmine sambac, dark musk, violet water, vanilla bean and mimosa. Mmm... nummy jasmine scent. After the drydown I get a faint faint whiff of vanilla bean. Just enough to show me there's vanilla in it, but not enough of the bean scent to make me cringe (hate vanilla bean scents). Nice blend.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

Yup... patchouli alright. After the initial drydown I get a musky overtone added that smells delicious. But I'm just not crazy about the patchouli. It's such a dry/dusty note on me that it doesn't smell good unless heaped with massive amounts of sugar or vanilla or something else. I'm also catching a very faint whiff of the wild plum and it smells delicious too.... < sigh > Just wish the patchouli would back off just a smidge and let the rest of this wonderful blend come out.
