  1. I do not like this one at all. In the imp and wet on my skin, all I could smell was the bathroom in the poolhouse. It got a little less acrid as the rose took over, but this is the rose that doesn't like my skin. All I smell is soap.

Off to the swap/sale pile it goes. :ack:

  2. Holy morpher, this one is all over the place! In the bottle and wet on my skin, it was a box of chocolates. Within 10 minutes, a Lemonhead candy. Fifteen minutes later - wood. Now, after nearly two hours, I'm still getting the wood but now the spices and the patchouli are mellowing it out. It's getting softer, too.

It's interesting. The chocolate and lemon initially were offputting and I was certain this one would end up in the swap/sell pile. I'm reconsidering at this point.

  3. I have to agree with meredevachon on this - it's Lady Grey tea, but with flowers. There is a sweet note there, but it's not what honey does on my skin (overly sticky sweet). I am in love! :wub2:

This one had been on my want list for a while before I finally threw a bottle in with another order. I wish I hadn't waited!

  4. So, when I put it on this morning, the guy states that this is the first BPAL oil that he thought smelled like regular perfume. And he's right. It's a very sweet, white floral and I like it, but it really feels more like perfume than an oil.

Oh, and must use in small quantities. This stuff has a throw!

  5. This one had been sitting on my wishlist for a long while and I was excited to finally locate a bottle. However, I have to admit that I was a bit worried when all I got was skin musk for about the first hour. I was not prepared to be so disappointed when all of the individual notes were perfect for me! Luckily, the florals - especially the carnation - started popping about half an hour ago, and now I'm happy. It's a slow morpher, but once it gets there, it's worth it! :wub2:

  6. Red musk and amber - no rose. Very odd, because I'll amp rose like crazy (and often not in a good way) if it's present.

It's a powerful scent and I like it, but I think I'll have to use it sparingly next time. What a throw!

  7. I love vanilla, I love anything aquatic, and I love lilies. Put them all in one bottle and I love the scent! This one just got moved to the top of the favorites list and I'll be adding a bottle of it to my next BPAL order. :wub2:

  8. White musk and leather here. It is slightly sweet, perhaps the frankincense? Bourbon vanilla is a no show, which is slightly disappointing.

A very nice, soft scent. Funny, I thought it would be stronger. ;)

  9. Cleric

This one morphed - a lot. Mostly narcissus at first (damn that stuff hates me), then more of the florals appeared just as I was about to go wash it off. Final drydown, however, ended at old books with just a hint of floral.

As long as I can live through the attack of the narcissus, I think I kind of like this one.

  10. Elf

Absolutely wonderful, but I wish it had a better throw!

Strongly evergreen at first, it takes a bit for the musk, berry and florals to peek out. Once they appear, wow! what a wintery beauty! I agree with skyelyric - this should be named Snow Elf.

    :wub2: :wub2: :wub2:

  11. Jasmine always does something odd on my skin when I first apply it, so I've learned to just live with the initial blechiness until it softens and the other scents come through. This time, I'm glad I did. The buttercup and honeysuckle are just lovely and tempered with a bit of musk.

Soft, soothing and not overpowering -- this may end up on my "must get a bottle" list. :wub2:

  12. I have to agree with claudia6913 on this one, it starts out as a creamy vanilla amber and I amped that like crazy for the first two hours I've had it on even though it's not a listed note. The spices are just starting to peek out (heavenly!) and I'm hoping the florals might show up as well.

Overall, this is a wonderful scent that I'll be happy to smell all day long. :wub2:

  13. Dirt at first, but an acrid soil that I just wasn't grooving on. I stayed with it, despite how much I wanted to wash it off after a few minutes, and was rewarded with a flower garden. Lots of beautiful florals with just a slight undertone of garden soil. It's a little strong at the moment, but I'm hoping it will soften a bit -- sometime soon?

  14. Creamy vanilla at first, but then it dries down to a heavy, spicy and sweet, floral mix. It's hard to distinguish any particular scent because it's SO heavy.

It's not overpowering, but it's different. Not sure if it's a favorite, though.

  15. I only got a small tester of this, and that's probably all I'll ever need. There is a mouthwash/astringent/whatever in the south called Dr. Tichnor's and this smells juuuuust like it. Very mediciny and mentholy. It eventually dries down, hours later, to something slightly minty and herbal. Just not my cup of tea.
