    Shroud

Dusty sandalwood with just a hint of herbs. Unhappily, I'm not getting the floral notes but I like the scent despite it. Glad to have an imp.

    Springtime Playfulness

I'll admit that I chose an imp of this one because I was curious about what the ripe squash would smell like. I could smell it in the imp, but not on my skin. Instead, it's a really nice blend of musk, wysteria, hydrangia, and berries with just a hint of wood. Not at all what I thought it would be. Playful, indeed.

    Copulating Mice

Like Edens Sixth Day, I'm getting a lot of warm, creamy nuttiness here. Nuts in the imp, nuts on my skin. No herbs, no lavender , no bergamot . Maybe they'll eventually appear, but it's all nuts, all the time at the moment. I'm not even getting clove, which is odd because I usually amp it. Wait, wait...there's something herbally lurking in the background now... Not unpleasant...just not what I had expected/hoped for.

    Loosening of the Obi

I had such high hopes for this scent, and I'm left vaguely disappointed. Rice wine and sandalwood at first with just a hint of vanilla - yummy! Then the musk just took over and that's all I can smell at this point. Going to put this one aside and try it in two weeks, when my hormones aren't quite so in the forefront.

    The Arbor

I have to agree with boxinghelena here. The Arbor has all the elements to be a beautiful, rich scent, but all I'm getting is old lady cologne. Blech.

    Tears, Idle Tears

Lovely, lovely aquatic florals with amber and just a hint of vanilla from the davana. Wonderful throw, too. This just got added to the "must get a bottle" list.

    Antheia

Disappointingly, this was just a mishmash of florals for me. Once the dreaded Damask Rose finally chilled out, that is. Nothing spectacular and rather light on the throw. Not a keeper.

    Apatouros

Wow! What a rich scent! Lots of carnation, black fig and nutmeg. I smell yummy!

    Time Does Not Bring Relief

Very strong Egyptian musk and white tea at first - very different. Then other notes start appearing and it changes to a slight cologne scent on me. Shortly afterward, violet takes over and it goes all sweet and powdery. Meh. Not for me.

    Nymphia

Overwhelmingly coconut and sugar at first, and pretty much for the first two hours. It's just now calming down and allowing the other scents to come through. Thinking I smell a little lavender, and I'm hoping that the apple blossom and freesia make an appearance. A very pretty, almost summertime, scent.

    Sugar Moon 2008

Once the update was announced, decided to try the 2008 imp I've had sitting around until I got to it. It had been on my "iffy" list due to some notes I've had issues with in the past and, after trying it today, for good reason. Sugar cane and mahogany just don't like me. Period. This started out as maple syrup with an ashy undertone, and now it's just sickeningly sweet cologne on top of ashy wood. Bleh. Don't think I'll be ordering the update.

    Les Infortunes de la Vertu

This one smelled odd to me at first until I realized it was the leather. I've never had a leather scent work on me before. Mmmmm, leather and florals, with just a hint of the amber and the incense might be peeking its head up. Masculine, but not totally so. Must try this one on the BF...

    L'Ecole des Filles

Not real thrilled when I first put it on, but I'm happier with it about 2 hours after application. Orange blossom, jonquil, and something else - maybe the carrot seed? I agree with Altaira that it's a masculine floral. Nice, but I don't think I need a bottle of it.

    Languor

Way too much tuberose and opium and first, but then the paperwhites and narcissus poke their heads up and join the party. Very pretty scent, but absolutely no staying power whatsoever. Two hours after application, it's almost gone.

    Ladon

Really fruity in the imp and wet on my skin, and I felt that I reacted kind of oddly with the resin. Glad I decided to reserve judgment, because once it warmed up and the other notes began to appear, this has turned into a wonderfully apple and floral scent. Not overpowering, and not so light that it just fades away. This just might get added to the "must get a bottle" list!

    Khephra

Spicy incense and resins, with some really odd note under it all. Is that cinnamon? *shakes head* I like incense, but there are others out there I really like (hello Kaidan) a lot more than this one. Off to the swap pile.

    Kaidan

Mostly sweet plum blossom at first, which was slightly offputting to me. Then the incense kicked in and it is all sweet woody incense with just a hint of plum. I'd like more of this!

    Illuminati Cotillion

Oddly enough, I usually amp the hell out of rose, but I'm not getting any here. It's all incense and woods, and kind of reminds me of an old chest of drawers in an antique shop. Pleasant but not a favorite, and, so far, the only scent out of the Black Helicopters line that I actually can tolerate.

    Ile de la Tortue

I am sooooo wishing I had more than an imp of this! It is full of heady tropical blossoms with just a hint of green. Swore I smelled honeysuckle at one point, but it has developed into a lush orchid scent. Wow!

    Hypothermia

Subtle mint and icy white/aquatic florals. OMG pretty!

    Harlot

    Soap, soap, soap. Meh.

    Has No Hanna

Creamy roses and white florals, maybe a touch of something aquatic and green, too. None of the reviews above mentioned rose, but I amp it like crazy if even the slightest tincture is in the mix. Might have to add this one to the "want a bottle" list.

    Pepper

I got a lot of pepper and ginger at first, which smelled a lot like cinnamon - not one of my favorite perfume scents. There is a hint of the vanilla in there and perhaps the geranium, too. I can't make up my mind on this one. I didn't like the overpowering pepper, but it's morphing a bit to include the vanilla and some of the floral. Might be a keeper just because it's interesting.

    Milk Moon 2007

I may be making a trip to the bathroom shortly to wash this off. Overly sweet and vaguely reminiscent of industrial bathroom cleaner. I can smell the fruit in there, but mixed with the honey and the milk, they just smell odd. Blech.

    The Phoenix in Summer

I'm usually fond of ozone, but I find the notes in this one too tangy and cloying to really enjoy. Sadly, this is the only one of the four Phoenix anniversary blends that I didn't really like.
