Received this as a frimp today with my new SCENT LOCKET! I have tried this several times today both on my skin and in the locket and all I get is OMG HAWAIIAN PUNCH! Seriously, this is so clearly fruity, red, syrupy punch packed with sugar. It's uncanny. It's unfortunate because it would have been great if it were super spicy, warm, and sexy. Not sure how I feel about keeping it yet. May keep it for when I feel like I want to be five years old for a day.

I was very excited about Sea of Glass and I finally gave it a day long trial today. The name of this scent alone excited me. I imagined a very clean, clear, pure scent. I imagine a sea of glass, smooth, glossy, hard and cold but immaculately clean. I imagined a light aqua and green colored scent. I could not resist! I should probably wait on my verdict because I don't quite have a solid one but I'm reviewing it anyway. Sea of Glass is definitely clean and fresh. It's so clean and fresh smelling that it almost hurts. I'm not great at picking out notes but I'm pretty sure there is floral in there and that is a bit of a problem for me. I've realized I hate floral scents. Florals irritate my nose and I think they generally smell awful. Sea of Glass is not awful, however. I don't hate it but I don't know how much I like it. The floral undertones displease me but something about it saves me from total dislike. It is a bit strong and verging on irritating but I want to give it another try. I was hoping for something a bit lighter and fresher. Salty would have also been nice. The florals make it feel heavy and it's just a bit too much. However, I feel some potential for this scent, even if it ends up freshening my laundry like Serpents With Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues.

This was the very first scent I tried and my opinion of it has fluctuated and evolved after several wears. At first, I loved it. I knew nothing about the notes (except that I definitely knew there was patchouli in there!) but it seemed fairly complex and interestingly beautiful. It put me in a strangely energetic mood and took me out of a long funk. After several wears, however, it does not seem like the same oil. Now, Lust has become an extremely powdery patchouli scent and nothing else. It’s not patchouli, it’s more like opening an old, dusty trunk full of books in an attic that had several satchels of patchouli lying in it for 50 years. It feels like a thick, heavy cloud radiating from my skin and surrounding me. I am not sure I like this. I don’t know what happened exactly, but I will assume this is some issue with body chemistry or hormones. Perhaps I will save the imp and try it out in the scent locket that I will be receiving for my birthday. I really wanted to smell the myrrh in this. Too bad. I'll probably try it once or twice more and hope for the best.

Despite my great dislike of rose scents, I decided to order this oil based on several of its reviews. I imagined a deep, sensual, heavy red rose that I could love, mixed with a touch of delicious leather. I imagined a scent that would evoke a mental image of sadomasochistic love, of pain and beauty. Unfortunately, despite my stack of hopes and dreams, it smelled like rose. It’s just a rose. I guess no matter how nice a review of an oil is, a rose is a rose is a rose. That being said, I’m sure it’s a lovely rose scent for those who like it. I just can’t do it. I didn’t pick up any leather in vial or on my skin. It is a red, red rose. Smells like a fresh one, though! I wanted to love you!

Black Opal is difficult for me to describe. When I first tried it on, I thought that it seemed awfully familiar. It is a scent from my past, but I couldn’t say what perfume it is similar to. It is incredibly subtle and soft. It’s sweet without being sugary or toothache-inducing. It’s not foody, it’s just sweetness. Perhaps it’s powdery, but it doesn’t make me feel that it is. It’s certainly not unpleasant or old lady-esque. It smells like a dark purple scent to me, not quite black. It is undoubtedly feminine but it smells like how a girl would just smell naturally. It’s not perfume, just her natural, girly scent. Unfortunately, I cannot detect any specific notes. (I haven’t developed the skill yet.) I think this oil is easy to love. It’s beautiful, soft, and comforting. As for myself, I like it but it is not me. It just doesn’t really fit what I think I should smell like and because of its familiarity I have already associated it with someone else. I’ll probably keep the imp anyway, just in case.

I smell like the freshest laundry ever! Sundew is a bright floral, nice and light with a bit of powder and the smell of very clean clothing. I would really like my fresh laundry to smell this nice (which it does not), but I don't think it's really my personality. People who like very light, happy springtime scents will probably love it. It's fresh and peppy. It makes me want to don a straw hat and sun dress, grab a wicker basket and gather daisies.

Zorya is super feminine and super floral! I can't pick out specific notes but it seems to be very well balanced. It's actually quite beautiful. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a floral person. I think if I met a woman wearing this, I would find her quite attractive. It just doesn't mesh with who I am. Nice for a floral, definitely. I think people who like floral scents will really love this. Edit: It smells like a doctor's office. It may just be me.

Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues
Tenshi replied to IronMollyBlack's topic in Discontinued Scents
My, what an interesting scent this is! Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues starts off very fruity. I wouldn't describe it as being as "green" as some others have, but it's a very sweet and sassy sort of smell. It reminds me of fruity candy, perhaps Fruit Roll-Ups. It's actually quite delicious. Unfortunately, after about an hour or so, it has completely transformed. Now my wrists smell exactly like fabric softener sheets. It's uncanny. At first, I didn't even realize it was the oil. I just thought my laundry was extra fresh smelling. Then I realized I don't have a drying machine and therefore, I don't use those sheets. I may try it as a room scent for when I need some perking up. I really liked the fresh, fruity scent it started out as! -
This was one of the first scents I tried from the lab. Being a noob, the notes sounded delicious and because I find the story of Mata Hari to be strangely fascinating, I ordered an imp of it. Unfortunately, this was not what I expected. On me this scent was far too florally. I didn't even smell roses, just jasmine. There was no coffee at all as far as I could tell, not even in the bottle. My first instinct was to scrub it off immediately, but I decided to give it a chance and wear it out. After about 45 minutes, it dried into a scent that I can only describe as "old lady floral perfume". I was really hoping for the warmth in this scent, with the coffee, vanilla and mahogany. On me it was only nosebleed inducing jasmine. It's really a shame but I'm not eager to relive that experience.
