  1. Of all the imps I've tried so far (and am totally enamored with just about all of them) I find that I am attracted most to that cinnamon note in Harlot.

I looked up cinnamon on the Lab's search and made a list of what came up...my question is, which ones are the most cinnamon-y?

Thanks in advance to the noses that know!

  2. Being patient can be difficult, but now that I've found your magical elixir's Beth, living without them would be far more difficult.

I do agree with the other posters about the ties. The ties and labels look lovely, but I cut the ends of the ties first thing. They make it so hard to organize the Imps. Perhaps another labeling system would be more time and cost effective.

We want what will make your life easier, Beth. Take good care of yourself.

  3. I've ordered on March 22nd and CCNow has the item as shipped on April 1st. I have gotten no shipping confirmation nor have I received my parcel. I have sent a couple of e-mails to the lab inquiring. I know it's hard work for Beth and Co, but it's also hard not knowing, especially since the money has long gone out. I would love to place a second order but I dare don't until I at least get some sort of confirmation of what's going on. Am I being difficult or are there others of you out there who have the same issues?

  4. First Impression: Oh no, not again! I didn't want to love so many of them. Nor did I ever think I would.

Second Impression: Sweet juicy pear, gorgeous musky floral. This surrounded me in juicy wet flowers. So perfect for Easter Sunday.

Final Analysis. I wish it were stronger and longer lasting because this scent is exquisite.

  5. The most effective way and the neatest to apply perfume oil (that I've found) is from an applicator with a roller ball top. My all time fave until I've found this site was Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess. It's packaged in a 1/3 ounce glass bottle with a roller top. It's goes on so well this way and is very neat for travel.

    Here's some

    and here

    Has anyone tried this???

I think I might when I order some of the larger size bottles of Beth's divine creations.

  6. First Impression: I never knew I could adore a rosy scent, that is until Beth unleashed her magic. Huge roses on the hottest and most humid of days.

Second Impression: Here comes the cinnamon. Shollin put it perfectly...

But this is REAL cinnamon, like someone grabbed a curl of cinnamon bark and a fine-mesh grater and grated the spice directly over an enormous RED rose.

Final Analysis: I like how when the cinnamon blooms, the roses stand up to it. It's very well balance. I like that I've never smelled anything like this. I smell like a one-of-a-kind. We'll see if my hard of smelling husband notices.

  7. The third time is the charm.

First Impression: Whoa, very strong in the bottle and when wet. Did not like this on me the first time.

Second Impression: I didn't like the second time either.

Final Analysis: I wore it today and it has captured me. It turned sweet on me, like sweet smoke. At first the amber note knocked me over, but once the dark musk came through it turned very sexy. Works very well with my natural skin smell. I'm happy I gave it another chance.

I wonder if changes in hormone levels (I'm a little pms-ish) affected the way this fragrance behaved on my skin...

  8. jj_j, you're not alone.

First Impression: In the bottle Vixen smelled like a tempting liquer, had to stop myself from wanting a taste.

Second Impression: The opposite of sexy. On me, it turned into dried up Old Lady. I only applied the smallest drop but it over took me.

Final Analysis: Utter disappointment! I enjoy all three notes but not in this particular potion. Chemistry :P

  9. First Impression: This is a royal beaty. Fresh and clean without being green or powdery.

Second Impression: This is not the Queen of Hearts as we know her. It's the Queen of Hearts that lives in her distant memory...a princess playing in the flower gardens of Wonderland.

Final Analysis: Innocent and fresh but definitely regal. This smelled so good on me, I sniffed and sniffed until there was nothing left.

  10. Pandorra nailed this one perfectly.

First Impression: In the bottle and wet, sweet, strong jasmine with a very sour undertone. Perhaps the juniper berry, I always hated that smell.

Second Impression: Sourness gone and the sweetness of the jasmine has turned rich and rounded.

Final Analysis: I felt very womanly wearing this, it completely enveloped me. Not as much staying power as I would have liked, but definitely something I could wear all spring.

  11. First Impression: O-mazing. This is warm and delish.

Second Impression: The balance of the scents in this one is quite perfect. They all harmonize with each other, none of them taking the lead or fading into the background.

Final Analysis: Another gorgeous, sexy creation. This smelled lovely on me. It's warm, sexy and sweet, but not foody.

  12. Anything oily comes out with Lestoil. It smells nasty, but it should save your favorite shirt. Apply directly to stain and add some to the wash tub and wash on a stain cycle with the hottest water suitable for the fabric. Good Luck!

  13. It's amazing at how different our "noses" are!

First Impression: In the bottle this smells very sweet then quickly changes to dusty on the skin. I can't believe how this one changes.

Second Impression: It smells like bayrum to my nose--a sexier, sweeter more feminine version. I don't smell any butter whatsoever.

Final Analysis: The more it mellows, the prettier it gets. Though I still smell the bayrum the nuttiness has come through. I like this one, it's a little mysterious and voluptuous.

Edited to Add: My second imp of Hellcat was totally different to the first one reviewed above.

The second imp was very almondy, buttery, rummy and boozey. It's lighter and sweeter than the first one. Pretty and more foody.

  14. We *wants* it! We *neeeeeds* it! (sorry, we watched The Two Towers again yesterday)

First Impression: As Violetta so eloquently put it "Sweet and Thick". But this sweetness is not fruity, sickly sweetness. This is deep, warm sweetness.

Second Impression: During dry down it's like a summer breeze cooling sunkissed skin. It's the perfect combination: sensual, warm, floral. I have not been able to stop sniffing my wrist for hours.

Final Analysis: This could be the personal scent I've been searching for. I am enamored of this scent. I can envision making up an entire bath and body line with this one.

  15. First Impression: Apricots soaked in spiced honey. Which in turn reminded me of my favorite scene in Notting Hill...

William: Would you like something to eat? Something to nibble? Apricots, soaked in honey? Quite why, no one knows, because it stops them tasting like apricots and makes them taste like honey... and if you wanted honey, you could just... buy honey. Instead of apricots. But nevertheless they're yours if you want them.

Second Impression: Potent, very potent, almost that I couldn't sniff it until it had dried completely and faded a bit (which took quite awhile).

Final Analysis: I really like this, I can't wait to try it as a room fragrance.

But it's sweetness and potency would prevent me from choosing this as a personal fragrance.

Edited to add: This made a wonderful linen spray/room fragrance. My bed and bedroom smells just like Walt Disney World's Grand Floridian at Christmas. And there is no lovlier smell than that!

  16. I was enchanted by the name as well as the description of Cabaret, but I don't feel the scent matches the name.

First Impression: I found this quite strong in the bottle and wet, the jasmine was so out there.

Second Impression: Still strong while drying, but the jasmine is brought back down by the sexy musk underneath. This reminded me of a French prostitue who was transported through time to Woodstock where she got lost in the hippie culture.

Final Analysis: It softened quite a bit more than I thought it would. This is a sexy scent but I didn't really work as a second to my skin.

    ADDED July 20:

I received an imp of Cabaret as an extra from the Lab and love sure is lovleier the second time around.

First Impression: The scent changed or my tastes have, because I love this.

Second Impression: Sexy and musky, juicy sweet. How did I not like this the first time????

Final Analysis: A keeper, that red musk note gets me every time.

  17. My first review :P

I'm partial to the fragrance of figs (ever have pizza with fig jam and carmelized onions? foodgasm). I really like b&bw fig body cream and picked this note hoping it would blend.

First Impression: In the bottle and wet on the skin, this smelled a bit artificial though pleasant.

Second Impression: As it began to dry it really reminded me of shopping at Spencer gifts at Liberty Tree Mall as a pre-teen. This Fig note is the smell of the shop and of these little tins of lip balm, the ones that the top of the tin was attached and would slide to the side to reveal these scented lippies.

Final analysis: After an hour this turned really nice, a bit sweet and even powdery. Similar to the body cream, I really think this will be a nice match.

  18. Lorajc,

I felt the same excitement when I saw that CC Now had my order listed as shipped on April 1st. I placed the order on March 22nd. I just checked my bank balances and the payment for CC Now was just charged to my account, so that may mean it's on the way. You may want to check to see if payment was taken out. I inquired on another thread and some of the more experiences BPAL purchasers commented that they don't count on the package arriving until after they've seen the payment as being posted.

I hope this is some help and postal fairy dust to you!
