  1. First Impression: WOW! Roses, roses, roses and they pack a punch.

Second Impression: On the drydown this is much more balanced. The ylang ylang plays a vital role in this gorgeous blend. It brings sweetness and light. It also keeps the roses from being too rosy.

Final Analysis: Lovely, long lasting and lush.

  2. I applied a little dab of Othello to the back of dear hubby's neck yesterday just to see how it smelled on him. It smelled nearly the same on him as it did on me. It's a gorgeous scent and I wanted to gobble him up but it's really not masculine. It was weird smelling flowers on him, weird but goooood.

I'm going to try Black Forest on him next. :P

  3. First Impression: Violets and lots of them. Not sure I want to put it on. Veil is the only violet blend that I can wear.

Second Impression: YAY! Another violet blend that works for me. This is Veil's younger, sweeter sister. The violet isn't cloying at all and the drydown and lovely and sweet. The vanilla and gardenia work wonders in this blend.

Final Analysis: Not sure if I like this better than Veil, but just as much anyway. I want a 5ml bottle of one of them and not sure which to pick. Thanks Beth for making terrible violets gorgeous on me!

  4. First Impression: Brightly fruity and then smack with that leather whip.

Second Impression: I didn't get wine nor musk from this. I think I was expecting a sexier, naughtier Lilith. That leather note does not agree with me.

Final Analysis: Disappointed that the notes that I love in this stayed hidden from me even after a long drydown. Just fruit and leather.

  5. I got this in swap, from guess who!!

    First Impression: Smells like booze.

Second Impression: Imagine a shot glass full-up with overproof rum and you've had one too many. And just the smell is enough to make you spew. That's what this smells like.

Final Analysis: No, don't want to smell like this.

  6. First Impression: I smell the lemon first off. A little bit scared now. With the exception of Delirium and Zephyr...lemon + my skin = :P

Second Impression: Yay! Another lemon scent I *can* wear. This isn't fruity lemon or Pledge lemon. This is rich, buttery, vanilla-lemon like the sweet batter of a moist lemon butter cake with loads of best quality vanilla.

Final Analysis: This smells oh-so-good on me. I can't stop smelling it. It's a very comforting and happy smell.

  7. First Impression: This is what I love about O, Jezebel, Eve and Tiger Lily.

Second Impression: I thought it would be sweeter but it's a very clean and fresh smell.

Final Analysis: Rich and deep yet clean and fresh. It's one of those "I can't stop smelling myself" smells.

  8. First Impression: Ahhh, this is why I *love* Morella so much.

Second Impression: This is a beauty, it's sharp and even a bit soapy but for some reason that does not detract from it's allure.

Final Analysis: I'm keeping this one. It's sweet and sharp and very unusual. Love it.

  9. First Impression: This is being in the Yankme Candle Shop in Saugus, MA at the holidays.

Second Impression: I was really put off by my first sniff of this but it smells so fantastic on my skin it's really bewitched me. It's deep and woodsy, sweet and smoky. I can't really even describe what this does to my nose and skin but I :P it.

Final Analysis: I think I need a big bottle of this. It's so not me, but it's gorgeous and mysterious.

  10. First Impression: Spices. Reminds me of Black Phoenix and Eclipse.

Second Impression: Malanna was spot on with her comparison to Alice. I had them on side by side and the dry downs were very similar...cloves steeping in steamed milk.

Final Analysis: It's more buttery than Alice, more "grown up". I just can't decide if I like it or not.

  11. First Impression: Bathroom cleaner or air freshener.

Second Impression: I can smell the ozone underneath the cleaner smell. If not for that cleaning fluid smell, it would smell just like a violent thunder and lightening storm.

Final Analysis: Not good for my skin. Too cold. The air freshener quality never died as much as I would have liked.

  12. First Impression: Green. Ripe green.

Second Impression: This is a nice scent, like dew covered grasses. The sun is starting dry the dew and a warm breeze is blowing. There is a faint sweetness in the background. Green scents tend to be sharp to my nose, but this is soft and round.

Final Analysis: Lovely and soft, zero staying power.

  13. First Impression: Wow this is curious. I have to take a moment to figure this out. At first whiff, I don't get any of the listed notes.

Second Impression: Whole cloves steeping in milk on an old fashioned stove. Not much honey here, it's as if the honey pot was waved over the pan hoping some sweetness would get in.

Final Analysis: I don't know whether I love it or hate, I just know I can't stop sniffing it. I'm keeping it just because it's so unusual. I'd like to wear it for a full day to see what happens.

  14. First Impression: Fruity, reminds me of Kitsune-Tsuki.

Second Impression: This definitely has an effervescent quality to it. It's not unpleasant, but my skin and fruity scents just don't get on well together. The pomegranate is overpowering any of the other scents.

Final Analysis: The dry down is pretty, it gets a bit less fruity as it wears. It's not something I'd wear. I'll pass this on to someone who will love and appreciate.

  15. First Impression: Joy of joys! Another fresh golden honey sweet floral.

Second Impression: I'm in love. It's warm and sweet and fresh at the same time. Think Tiger Lily and Pele. I actually think I like this better than Tiger Lily. How a scent can be bold and delicate at the same time, I don't know. But this is. It has fantastic staying power in my hair. I applied nearly 8 hours ago and it still wafting around my head like a sweet floral halo.

Final Analysis: Another exquisite scent from our Lab Goddess. It's sweet, playful, girlie and just a touch sexy.

  16. First Impression: I didn't think I'd like this one and I was spot on.

Second Impression: Fruity+my skin= :P It's not a sweet fruity or floral fruity (like Edymion, Delirium and Desire :D) to my nose or on my skin. It's actually quite soapy.

Final Analysis: I thought the dry down of the florals might work out in the end as I do quite like snapdragon and sweet pea but the grape and the peach soap smell is all I'm getting. Off to swap with you.

  17. HELP!

Where is Cabaret? I got an imp in a swap ages ago and didn't care for it and swapped it away. But I got another imp of Cabaret as a freebie from the lab and it's just lovely this time round.

I can't find it on the search engine for the main Lab site or the search engine here or in the reviews. I thought I reviewed it the first time or am I losing it?

  18. The essence of ambition, covetousness and manipulation: sweet Bordeaux wine, blood red currant, thyme and wild berries.

First Impression: Ooooh, it's smells like the Sangria the girls and I were sipping in the pool yesterday.

Second Impression: Juicy berries, sweet and ripe crushed into a bowl of a light red wine. This wine isn't shiraz or cabernet. Lighter, like a white merlot or juicy pinot noir.

Final Analysis: Fruity scents don't thrill when on my skin. This one is nice enough to use up the imp, but not enough to inspire an additional purchase.
