  1. First Impression: If there are violets in the bottle, I smell them first.

Second Impression: :P It's purple, the perfect smell of my favorite color. The violets and jasmine are so subtle and well blended that they stay nicely in the background. It's dark, incensey and slightly juicy with fruit. Perfectly blended dark and moody floral.

Final Analysis: Violets tend not to like me, but I took an chance and purchased this sight-unsmelled from lorajc and I'm thrilled I did. It's a perfect cool weather, very mysterious and womanly fragrance. I love it.

  2. First Impression: Juicy bubble-gum rum and a naughty nightclub vibe.

Second Impression: The description suits so perfectly in the bottle and when wet. The drydown on me is a different story. The black rose stands out and turns to powder. So powdery it's making my nose twitch and making me sneeze.

Final Analysis: I'm gutted that I seem to be allergic to this. The bottle is adorable. I'm going to give it another go before I decide for sure.

  3. First Impression: That juicy wine-tanginess from Red Moon at first sniff.

Second Impression: It reminds me of Red Moon in the bottle and when wet. Once it dries, Hunter Moon is dark and sinister, even. I'm getting dark wine, smoke, leaves and musk, dark musk most of all.

Final Analysis: I definitely smells like fall, much more so than Samhain did. I don't love it like I love Red and Harvest and though it is perfect for this time of year, I'm not sure if I want to keep it.

  4. First Impression: Wow, packs an herbal punch!

Second Impression: This is a very unique blend. I would never have though rosemary and roses would smell so pungent together.

Final Analysis: Just too green and herbal for my taste.I'm pleased that I got to try it.

  5. First Impression: Oh, I love Beth's lime blends!

Second Impression: It amazes me that lemon just hates me but lime works wonders for my skin and my mood. Muse is bright, lovely and very romantic. Lime and lotus work beautifully together. And tuberose is gorgeous.

Final Analysis: I really like this. I'm going to wear it a few more times to see if I love it enough to order a larger quantity.

  6. First Impression: :P And my head, I'd be scratchin', while my thoughts were busy hatchin'...if I only had brain. :D

Second Impression: I get the dryness of straw but also fresh green-ness of fields. It's bright and astringent.

Final Analysis: It's pleasant, not for me as it's not girlie at all. But nicely evocative.

  7. First Impression: Sweet and green, fresh lemon and tea.

Second Impression: I love the smell in the vial, but lemon scents turn deadly on my skin. It's very fresh and uplifting.

Final Analysis: I wish I could wear lemon scents, but I like having them around me. Phantasm is a moodlifter for sure!

  8. Sleek, dark, and ominous. Violet and neroli mingled with iris, white sandalwood and dark musk.

First Impression: Violets, they're always first to jump out at me.

Second Impression: Violet scents can be hit or miss with me. I tend not to like them with the exception of Veil and Les Serpent, which I love. I like this one as the violets are kept in check by the other florals, woods and musk.

Final Analysis: The Raven is a nice violet blend, the violets are well tempered by the woods and musk. It's a very sweet, as violets tend to be but it's not as dark as the name suggests.

  9. First Impression: Bright ginger, fig and cypress.

Second Impression: The ginger and the fig really burst out when Nemesis is wet, it's bright and very juicy. But once it's dry it gets much drier and sweeter.

Final Analysis: It smells *exactly* like Intruigue without the cocoa! This is a mysterious and beautiful scent.

  10. First Impression: Warm and cool at the same time.

Second Impression: I can smell the cedar and lots of minty vapors. It's like being warmed in the sun on a very bright, cold day. Such a light wisp of a scent, one swipe was gone in minutes.

Final Analysis: Ethereal, lovely and fleeting. I'll enjoy my imp.

  11. This was an extra from the lab.

Sol smells *exactly* like Bain de Soleil orange gelee suntan gel. It brings me back to the lying in the sun beside Grammy's pool, trying to get warm because her pool was always so numbingly cold.

  12. First Impression: Oh, I do love the smell of magnolia!!!

Second Impression: This is the ultimate in magnolia perfumes. I don't get a creamy vibe from this, it's quite spicy actually. I love that the oleander doesn't crowd out the magnolia, not at all. The musk and spices add a nice sexy kick.

Final Analysis: Imagine a southern beauty queen...beauty, brains and a mean streak. She lied, cheated and commited heinous acts of sabotage against her rivals to win Miss Magnolia 2004. This is her perfume and I love it!

  13. First Impression: Sweet and creamy.

Second Impression: This is very much like a blend of Dragon's Milk and Desire. That comforting, sweet candy and vanilla...for a while anyway. Until my arch enemy vetiver rears it's ugly head and this blend turn into nasty lemon ass on my skin.

Final Analysis: I had to take chance and try Blood Kiss for the name and the majority of the notes. Unfortunately the vetiver took over after about 50 minutes and I had to scrub it off. And damn, it's tenacious and I can still smell it after two washings with dish soap. DOH!

  14. First Impression: Creamy, sweet and creamy, luscious apricots.

Second Impression: The fruits in the this are just so syrupy, thick and sticky-sweet. The plum and pom do peek out from behind the apricot, just enough. After the drydown begins, the sticky sweetness is tempered very nicely by the musks and the touch of earthiness from the roots. A delicate hint of floral makes this a bit more sophisticated then I thought at first smell.

Final Analysis: I love the peach and apricot scents and Yerevan can really hold it's own against the likes of Imp, March Hare and Depraved.

  15. First Impression: In the vial that "I don't know if it's cherry or almond" scent leaps out.

Second Impression: Then it's gone as soon as it hits the skin. It remains sharp for a little bit and then the magic happens. Oh, this is mysterious and lovely. I adore Egyptian musk and red sandalwood and together they make a sexy duo. The star jasmine, which must be more subtle then traditional jasmine, lends a very smooth and subtle spice.

Final Analysis: I wasn't sure I would like after the first few minutes, but then Salome morphed into a very "me" scent. Wow!

  16. First Impression: Whoa, this is a sweet tooth's dream fragrance.

Second Impression: This is the burnt sugar on top of a perfectly chilled creme brulee, this is deep dark molasses, this is pure Vermont maple syrup (the unrefined kind), this is ecstasy.

Final Analysis: Sugar Skull not only lives up to the hype, it far exceeds it. I just love it in all it's dark, burnt, sugary goodness. :P

  17. First Impression: Sweet cocoa-dusted, grape jellied candies.

Second Impression: A very complex blend with a really interesting dry-down. I get a bit of dark purple, sweet wine, a bit of jelly candies with a dusting of cocoa, a dab of sweet pastry and a touch of floral and whiff of incense smoke that keeps it from being too foody.

Final Analysis: It's *very* and though it's Mexican Day of the Dead themed, I think it's going to work really well as a winter holiday fragrance. I really like it.

  18. First Impression: Harvest Mo....hmmmm? SUN!

Second Impression: I can understand the comparisons that have been made to Harvest Moon, but All Saints' is a bright, sunny, chilly autumn day where Harvest Moon is a cold autumn moonlit night. I get the same buttery pumpkin top notes but the floral drydown is very different, brighter and sunnier but still decidedly fall.

Final Analysis: Harvest Moon gave me a four hour experience, this is much less, and while I like this, I still prefer Harvest Moon.

  19. First Impression: Fir needles and eucalyptus.

Second Impression: I get very strong leaves and fir for the longest time. Only after long while does any sort of sweet autumn spice start to appear. I put this on the second I had it out of the package, so it's been on for about 3 hours and only now and I'm getting a faint sweet apple scent mixed with the fading fir and eucalyptus fragrance.

Final Analysis: I don't get as much autumn from Samhain as I get from Harvest Moon. I was really expecting to be over the moon about this, but no. It's lovely but it's not the "holy grail" of autumn that I thought it was going to be.
