  1. In the imp, I smelled tea, lemon and honey. I tried it on regardless of the many bad reviews I've read. The first few seconds it smelled the same as the imp but then it turned to sour milk which made me think of baby vomit. I immediately washed it off. No no no. I don't even want to swap or frimp this to someone else, it's so bad.

  2. Whoa, first sniff was Vapo-Rub. I guess that's the cedar? I smelled something nice in there so I tried it on, and surprisingly it was beautiful after the initial sharpness dried off. I don't know what lotus smells like, but there is a general creaminess to this that I really love. I also smell the sandalwood which is always magic on my skin and the cedar/vapo rub is hanging in the background (very far) and reminds me of a container of Tiger Balm I had yrs ago. I think it's the clove...

Hmm. I'm keeping this imp to see how much I can grow to love it.

  3. This was sent to me by a kind member from the Orphanage/Karma Swap thread. Initially, I was turned off by the intense apple smell from the bottle (because who can forget B&BW's Country Apple Invasion of America years ago?), and it smelled a little musty, so I let it sit for a few days until I was feeling adventurous. Today was that day--on my skin, the apple is sweet and fresh, but only lasts for about 10-15 minutes. After the dry-down, I smell the black amber (which I love) and a faint fruitiness. It fades pretty quickly on my skin, but it's definitely a keeper.

  4. OMG. I need to have a vat of this stuff because the Holy Grail has been found.

My first whiff was Snake Oil because I took it out of the mailbox that was baking in the 117 degree heat. I stuck it in the fridge for a few minutes then tested again. This time I smelled a delicious vanilla musk. I dabbed a bit on my wrist and sniffed again. I smelled a creamy Nag Champa incense with coconut, which is so amazing. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am.

    :wub2:

  5. I guess the red musk is what's making this smell like perfume-y Snake Oil on me? I'm not really impressed right now, but I'll let her age...

    Update 8/27/10:

I tried it again a week or two after my initial test, and it went horribly pencil shavings on my skin. I was going to sell the bottle because I wasn't feeling the love. Then I tried it again and like, whoa! It's pretty delicious. It still has a little cedar but I think as it ages it's going to turn into a plummy Snake Oil.

  6. Bottle: A young white peach with a hint of something sugar-citrusy, like a peach Sour-Patch Kid candy. The second time I smelled the imp I got a whiff of sharp cologne.

Wet on skin: I start to smell amber and golden sandalwood, then it starts to turn slightly powdery.

Dry: Still smell powder, but I also smell the peach and something plastic-y.

I started out thinking I'd like this, even though it was too "young" for me. It ended up reminding me of a scented doll I had as a kid.

  7. Holy Hell! Intense honeysuckle and jasmine in the imp and wet. This does smell like New Orleans minus the mildew and smut permeating thru the humid air. The dry down is jasmine and lemon spiciness.

It's different, but not something I see myself wearing regularly.

  8. Queen Mab was a frimp from the Lab along with a couple other florals that I'll be testing this week.

Roses, jasmine and black orchid stand out. It has a creamy sweetness, which must be the sandalwood or musk, which I love equally. This is not something I'm used to wearing, but I like how girly I feel.

I've worn this for about 2 days and 1) the scent stays true from bottle to drydown and 2) it doesn't last or it's just so light that I have to keep reapplying.

    Very pretty.

  9. Tonka, black licorice, amber, golden sandalwood, ginger cream, bitter clove, stinging nettle, cinnamon bark, and coconut shell.

In the bottle: Smells like there's a shot of Jägermeister lurking in there.
Wet: Coconut, vanilla, and black licorice.
30 minutes later: Reminds me of Antikythera Mechanism (which smells like Angel for Men to me). I also think of cocoa.
    Dry: Tonka and coconut.

I could smell this scent morphing like a swarm of bees, but they were happy bees. I didn't get anything "menacing" from this experience. It's sweet without being cloying, interesting, and beautiful.

  10. This is well-blended, because I can't pick out any specifics other than faint coconut and woody notes. It's almost a softer version of Blood Pearl. It does feel very comforting to wear. I feel a warm fuzzy.

I'm going to wear throughout the week and see how it develops. I'm disappointed that I don't smell the other notes.

  11. I almost had an orgasm when I opened up my box of goodies! VANILLA! :wub2:

    426:

Bottle--This one came very full and smelled like vanilla cake batter

Wet--Vanilla frosting morphed into a creamy vanilla-coconut (suntan oil!) in a few minutes. I'm in heaven, I LOVE coconut.

Dry--Fading to a light coconut. This one doesn't seem to want to last. I'll come back in a few hours to edit...

    477:

    Bottle--Vanilla Buttercream frosting

Wet--Vanilla turned into a butterscotch and maple syrup smell. I'm craving a stack of pancakes with butter and a ton of sugary syrup. There's a possible berry-candy note coming out the more I sniff. Yummmm.

Dry--A creamy, maple-berry syrup. Surprisingly, it's not sickly sweet like I'd expect something like that to smell. I'm very pleased with this Chaos bottle.

  12. and Trish McEvoy's No. 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk

"Mouthwatering, magnetic, Trish's No 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk is an irresistible blend of caramelized blackberries and vanilla infused with the

warm aromas of musk and white rose"

These have been the only perfumes that I have loved enough to wear religiously in the past.

Lady Una has vanilla and blackberry

I don't know if I have posted this already but Diabolical Offspring smells a lot like Chanel N 5.
I got Chanel No. 5 from Wicked.

  13. I wanted the coconut to be more intense, but this is the perfect coconutty scent I was looking for. I layered it with Pele to get the full tropical effect I was looking for. I'm definitely going to buy Pele and Obatala to wear together. :D

  14. I liked this from first sniff. It smells delicious...my favorite vanilla scent ever. It smells warm, spicy and sweet but not cloying and the scent lasted all day. It drys down to a soft vanilla which was very cozy feeling. I want a big bottle of this.

  15. Wet--vanilla cake batter, butterscotch and pineapple.

Skin--caramel popcorn. fake vanilla/hazelnut coffee creamer.

    Dry--still smelling like popcorn.

I had high hopes it would smell interesting. I had to "temper" this a little with Grand Guignol (another frimp I received with Drink Me from the Lab). It was too buttery/vanilla cake sweet on me, I almost threw up. I'm going to wash this off. Where's a barf emoticon?

  16. This scent is THE BOMB. :wub2:

It smelled like root beer in the bottle last night, and I wondered why I ordered it. I put it on this morning and I was in love. It smells like root beer and Tang, which is the EXACT smell that Thierry Mugler Angel for Men had. I used to wear that cologne and I'm thrilled I found it at BPAL. I'm so in love. I wanted to eat myself and it lasted all day.

Someone walked into my office and said I smelled like incense, which I think is fantastic. Very beautiful and interesting scent.

  17. Got this as a frimp from the Lab and it's first on my list for a big bottle. I found the Holy Grail amber scent. I never smelled saffron before and I decided I love it. This is a sexy, warm, feline scent. My black cat loved it too. I kept having to smell myself.

  18. Eh. I wanted this to smell more coconutty. It's not a bad scent, there is something mass market perfumey about it (the orris?) but maybe it's musk and/or coconut that makes it more interesting. I might give this another try later. Sometimes my nose hates a scent but loves it another day.

  19. I got this as a freebie and initially I didn't like the smell in the imp. I came here to read the description and notes and decided it wasn't something I'd like at all.

I tried it again a few days later and found a strange attraction to it. It smelled woody with a hint of something mossy but altogether it was feminine and sparkly.

It's a very comforting scent. I decided I liked to wear this after showering when I've had a emotionally/mentally tough day. I'm waiting for a big bottle of it as I type, but I will be saving it for the colder months.

  20. Honey musk, green tea leaf, blackberry leaf, vanilla bean, and fae spices.

This scent makes me want to lay on a blanket on the grass and watch the clouds on a sunny day. :wub2:

I love honey scents, and this sparkles with the addition of the blackberry and "fae spices". It reminds me of YSL In Love Again which always smelled like blackberry + grapefruit.

Lady Una is blended so well and smells beautiful on my skin. The only negative is that it doesn't have all-day staying power.
