I don't see a lot of quince around so it's nice to have a bottle of this. It's a tart-citrusy honey/vanilla with a shot of booziness. It's not gross boozy though. The quince is delicious, and it smells exactly like the membrillo paste in my fridge. Someone mentioned Li Hing Mui powder covered plums, and I have to agree. Not so much the plum, but the tangy powder. This is beautiful and unique.

Now this is what I expected the released version to smell like. The released version was red hots cinnamon so intense that I couldn't smell pumpkin or blue candyfloss. The prototype is mouthwateringly perfect. It's spicy pumpkin pie with an amazing berry candyfloss running through it. It's funny how much I love this, because I really hate pumpkin pie and I don't tend to like many of the spicy-foody BPAL scents. You would have to pry this from my cold dead hands.

Be still my heart, a leather that works on me! Amaterasu v3 is a perfectly clear amber with a soft and barely noticeable (that's a good thing) leather note, and white cherry blossoms. The dry down is a glorious golden powdery haze that stays very close to the skin. I'm in love.

Creamy herbal vanilla...and sassafras that made me think of Snake Oil. It smells nothing like Snake Oil, but there is something in this oil that is tricking my nose to think there is a common note. The vanilla is similar to the one in Gypsy but with sassafras not cardomom. Most random review ever! I really love this scent. ETA: I'm comparing this to The Anti-Saloon League now, since others have commented on the similarities. PPv1 is like a lighter, less cologne-y version of ASL.

Elf v4 is like Dorian-lite, and more feminine. It's a creamy vanilla and lemony skin musk, with a floral note that makes me picture a field of white daisies on a hazy day. The vanilla note is beautiful, and it seems to be the same vanilla as Celeste and XCDL13. (ETA 4/19: There is a bit of a white chocolate note that I didn't notice before.) The throw is alright, but it doesn't last very long. I'm still lucky to have found a bottle and will cherish it.

At first sniff, I thought of Mead Moon: Beeswax. I'll have to agree with yeahbunobut on the "spun honey" comparison once it hits my skin. It's a beautiful, pearlescent white honey with a good bit of pollen. I don't smell anything floral and I can't compare this to O or Glowing Vulva, either. It's the same delicate honey note in Lady Una. I think it's lovely.

This perfume is beautiful. It's such a lovely, clear honey with something that reminds me of the faint lemony note in perfumes like Dorian, Velvet Nudie and Giant Vulva, and a bit of beeswax. While it is a honey scent like O and Womb Furie, it lacks the "skin musk/sweat" aspect of O or the powderiness from the combination with Snake Oil in Womb Furie.

I want a BPAL that smells like Philosophy... fill in the blank

Boo for marshmallow. It's a Halloweenie limited edition but you can check around the sales/swaps for a decant or bottle. It does have a bit of a cotton/linen note along with the marshmallow, but I think it levels out the sweetness. Another good marshmallow perfume is White Chocolate, Coconut and Marshmallow Truffle which is also LE but harder to find. As far as the chocolate cake, there is a lovely chocolate recommendation thread here. -
I have the same situation. 4 bottles of TIL, one with no red musk, 2 with very heavy almost single note red musk and super dark oil (I can barely see light thru the bottle), and 1 bottle of medium red musk that is much lighter in strength and color. I don't think they are aging issues either, because I received them all around the same timeframe. I will always wonder what happened. ETA: I just skin tested heavy vs. medium versions. The medium has a faint cola note to my nose compared to the heavy. Then it's gone. Curioser and curiouser...

The 2010 version is definitely my favorite. I put some of the 2011 version on last night and it wasn't as yummy. I woke up with a very powdery honey scent that wasn't very pleasant. With 2010, the Snake Oil sticks around longer to keep the honey from going powdery.

Thanks to a lovely forumite, I finally had the chance to test this. I would say this scent is right in between Hawaiian Tropic and coconut milk, with a little sweetened, shredded coconut on top. It's not plastic or cloying at all, but rather it sits close to my skin yet has a pleasing amount of throw. I'd kill a distant relative for a full bottle.

I finally received this as a tester from a sale. Soft vanilla, florals, incense smoke and leather. Leather makes my nose itch and gives any blend an almost men's cologne smell to me. Why does leather hate me so?

Finally, I get to review the perfume that makes most everyone recoil in horror. It's terrible OMG. I'm sorry to write something bad about Beth's perfumes but O.M.G. the combination of violet and vetiver is making me cry.
-
Watery floral/stinky violet aquatic. Not for me.
-
Hmm, this is a deep green aquatic. It's rather nice initially, then it turns into detergent.
-
OMG Pine! My nostrils flared and my eyes bugged out when I sniffed this. I can't skin test.
-
This is citrusy, spicy and boozy. Like a Maker's Mark & ginger ale with a twist of lemon. It's a little syrupy and cloying.

This smells like what I wanted Pom IV to smell like. There's dark berries and thyme, but not overpoweringly herbal. There's a bit of the wine/boozy note that I get from Smut too. Now it's turning funky.

This reminds me of Underpants (without the cream and saffron) and Loli.Goth. Very strange. It's PINK (strawberry?) and sugary but not bubblegum. I want a bottle of this to slather in the Summer.
-
This is a grassy, woody musk. It's very light that I can barely pick out anything once it's dry.
-
Stinky rosewater. The scent gives me a piercing headache.
-
Woody with dragon's blood and some white floral. Smells a bit dirt-like with the dryness of the wood.

This scent is not something I'd usually like. It's very feminine without being floral and clean. It's like a lovely cream-colored raw silk. Rice wine is a prominent note, with white musk and sandalwood following closely behind. There is something herbal about this and I'm getting whiffs of something like the absinthe or black licorice from Paduan Killer Swarm. I'm sad that I can't smell much vanilla, but I'm pretty sure this will age nicely into a warmer vanilla scent. ETA, months later. The perfume is essentially the same, but the vanilla has become more prominent. I'm so in love with this scent that I may need a backup bottle.

Marzipan/almonds are just nauseating to me. It turns into a weird fake cherry scent and it's strange that I hate it to much because I love cherry. The peach is nice but overall this smells like peach schnapps with a bunch of smashed maraschino cherries thrown in.

Super fizzy in the imp, like a gin and tonic. On skin, there's a playful blueberry that isn't artificial because lemongrass is making it bright. There is a bit of lime in this, or maybe that is how my nose interprets lemongrass. It's like a fizzy lemongrass limeade with a splash of blueberry simple syrup and gin. I really like this for Summer.
