Imp: Om nom nom, YES!! Minty chocolate, delicious! On, wet: Minty chocolate with an odd undertone of something. Something earthy. Oh dear. Dry: Where the hell are the mint and chocolate? This turned into sweet wood and moss. I love oakmoss, but not like this! Not when I was loving the foodiness! Verdict: Lovely in the imp, total dud on. Smells musty, like an attic. No thanks. ETA: Months later- It turns out that in nearly every blend, I amp cedar like crazy. It's wood. Wood, wood, wood. What begins as absolutely delicious milk chocolate with a kiss of mint becomes Eau de Second Grade Pencil Case.

Oh God this is stunning. I wasn't expecting to like this, but as soon as I whiffed the imp, it was love. I tried it on, and it reminds me of a perfume my nanny used to wear when I was little, but it's not at all old ladyish. It's floral, but not the sharp rose/lily/jasmine florals I'm used to and dislike. This is soft and gorgeous and invokes images of tropical locations even though I've never been to any. From wet to drydown it remains the same. While there are no specific aquatic notes sticking out, it does smell beachy. I think this could be worn year round. This has to be a bottle for me. It'll get a lot of wear.

All tea all the time. I happen to love tea scents, it's my favourite note. Which is why I'm shocked that this isn't my holy grail scent. It's lovely to be sure, but I'm not a big fan of spice. This isn't spicy, but it does smell sort of chai-like from the pepper and ginger. This is definitely orange tea, and STRONG orange tea. Getting no linen from this at all, but I think vanilla may be in there somewhere just providing a sweet contrast to the ginger and pepper (which doesn't smell like pepper, it just adds some warmth). No specific honey note, so honey haters fear not. It may be in there along with vanilla sweetening and deepening, but it's not in your face for sure. Definitely a fall and winter scent, it's a little warm and cozy for spring and summer. Verdict: Keep and enjoy the imp, and consider whether I need a bottle when fall rolls around. Will depend on other similar scents and whether my imp gets enough love. ETA: After an hour or so, the spicey tea backs off and the linen comes to the forefront. This gets nice. It doesn't last all that long, 2 hours or so, and isn't bottle worthy for me, but it is worth noting that linen does come forward to be the top note.

Imp: Why that's lovely. Very light, creamy, with something else to warm it up and deepen it. Must be ginger. On dry: Huh. The same as before, only now it has a whiff of chlorine in the background. Like milkiness put on skin after you swim in a chlorinated swimming pool. Not strong enough to wear alone, but could be used as a milky layering note. I may try it with White Rabbit and try to make milky tea, hopefully sans chlorine. ETA: Aaaannd within half an hour its vanished. After 15 minutes, you wouldn't smell it unless you knew what you were looking for.

Expectations: I knew this couldn't go too terrible wrong on me, as black tea is my favourite note. This is the tea note from Dorian, but more of it, with a teeny vase of sweet peas sitting nearby. Imp: Dorian's tea note! Yes!!! Very sweet, this is a sugared tea. I'm not getting the sweet pea. Wet: Sweet tea Dry: More notes surfacing now. Top note is still sweetened tea, but sweet pea is coming out and is gorgeous (but is not making the blend feel like a floral). There's also something else there serving as a grounding note. I don't think there's musk in this, but there's something with that kind of feel grounding this. There's something almost effervescent here, like ginger. It must be the sandalwood, which I usually despise. It's really working in this blend, but certainly isn't a top note. Overall this is a bright, sweet scent. I don't think this is a sad mouse at all, he's very cheerful. This one will be a bottle for sure. To the top of the bottle list you go, mouse. ETA: HOLY CRAP, THERE'S NO TEA LISTED IN THE INGREDIENTS!!! That blows my mind, because I'm not getting amber, I'm getting tea!!!

Beautiful! Imp: Fruity. Grape, peach and pear coming out the most. I'm not getting any florals, and if they're there, they're an afterthought. On: Gorgeous. Light and juicy, vibrant and crystalline. Dry: Florals are making an appearance but are not dominating. Grape is still the top note, and I'm getting light, sweet florals. Rose is staying in check and I wouldn't have known it were here had I not checked the notes. Very well behaved. Very summery and I may need a bottle.

I didn't see myself liking this one, to be honest. I'm not a big fan of spice or incensey scents, but I had to try it because its so popular. In imp: Huh. Lots o' vanilla (I wonder if this is aged, it's quite dark and viscous, but it was a lab frimp) and spicy scents. On: Reminds me of the exact scent of a hair salon where I grew up. Burning hair (not in a bad way), products, and a mingling mix of scents and perfumes. Very grown up smelling. Still vanilla and spicey resinousness (if thats a word). I like it, but it's not very "me". The longer it's on, the more vanilla it's getting, which is no surprise because I amp vanilla like nothing else. I'll keep and age my imp, and probably reach for it occasionally, but I don't think I'll need a bottle.

Wow, this is much different than I expected from the notes. I expected a bright springy scent of fruit and tea. While not what I expected, it's beautiful. In the bottle: Warm, orangey tea. Spicy and warm, must be the myrrh and amber. This isn't a spring scent at all, it's very much late fall or mid winter, when it's cold outside and you're cuddled up inside with a blanket. The notes I can actually smell once it's on: Tea, mandarin, myrrh, and amber. No vanilla, peach, or lotus root (although I'm not sure what lotus root smells like, so I wouldn't recognize it anyways). This is VERY well blended and melds together nicely. On, wet: spicy orange tea. Dry: Spicy orange tea with something bright (maybe peach is making an appearance!) and grounding (could be the lotus root, but damned if I know) Very pretty. I'm hoping this one ages well though, because it's not something I'll reach for in spring or summer. It's going to have to wait until fall to be added to daily wear rotation. In sum: Warm and comforting. ETA: After an hour or so, this hovers dangerously close to potpourri territory. It never gets there, and at about hour 2, it turns absolutely gorgeous. All the notes blend seamlessly. At the start this could be unisex, but by the end, it's very much feminine. It easily lasts all day.

I was frimped this one and decided to give it a shot despite it being very far from my normal scents. In imp: Sour dirt. Like dirty pickles. On: Still sour (tangy? tart?) dirt. Yeah, this one isn't going to work for me, but I'll be damned if there isn't skill in producing a scent that smells like well composted soil. I'll go back to my sweetness and vanilla and pass this on to a better home.

Boy, I don't know what to make of this one. In the imp, it's woody, almost smoky or leathery, and vaguely unsettling and dark. On, it's the same way for oh, 3 minutes. Then it turns to woody vanilla candles as someone else mentioned. I know my skin amps sweet notes like crazy, so maybe that's it. Even in it's vanilla candle stage, it's oddly unsettling and makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason I can't explain. If a perfume can be frightening, this one is, but it's not because it smells bad or anything. It makes me feel strangely vulnerable and uncomfortable. Even though the wood and vanilla are warm scents, it comes together in sort of a dark, creepy way. This one isn't for me. Not because of the way it smells, but because of the way it makes me feel, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

I don't normally have an issue with rose, but this one really didn't agree with me. Headache-inducingly strong floral. This would be lovely on some ladies, but not on this one. Now that I see the notes, I notice there is jasmine. That would be the culprit; jasmine is a note of doom for me. Okay: Frimp: Strong floral, mostly rose, but heavier and more cloying (I'll blame jasmine). On: Strooooong floral. Eye watering, nose burning strong (probably that blasted jasmine again). We'll never know how it wears on me, because I had to wash this one off. Make sure you like florals if you're going to give this one a go. Edit: I never got any citrus from this, although I wish I had.

In the frimp: Mint and moss. On: More moss, some mint, and something cologney. Upon seeing the notes, that must be ambergris. The good news is that I've got no beef with mint, and I LOVE moss. The ambergris smells like a 1920s gentleman to me, but the blend itself isn't so masculine that I can't wear it. It's quite unisex. The moss pretties it up and the mint freshens it. Very fresh and clean, while still being slightly perfumey and sweet (in a noncloying, nonfoody way). Thank you BPAL, for teaching me that I love moss through frimp/imp trial and error. I never would have thunk it. I don't know that I need a bottle of this, but I'm definitely hanging onto my frimp. I can see myself grabbing for it before going on summer evening drives, or going to summer BBQs. Edit: for ridiculous triple posting within one post. What the heck, forum?

Frimp: I smelled this in the imp and thought "Intrigue indeed. What IS this stuff? What are the notes?" I put it on and the scent was familiar to me. It came to me that it smells like camping. Pine or juniper, or eucalyptus or something like that, and a whoooole lot of wood. There`s quite a bit of warmth here too, sort of like the summer sun beating down on pine trees, and warming up the earth. Overall, it smells like trees (a LOT of wood) and warm dirt (not wet dirt or anything earthy like that, just warm, dry dirt). Verdict: I'm not too sure. The nostalgia of the scent is lovely, since it's winter and camping memories are of summer. It's just not something I want to smell like though. Pencil shavings does sort of describe it a bit. It's intriguing all right, but I don't think it's something I want to wear. Definitely more of a masculine scent I think. I can see my dad (a logger) wearing this, if he wore cologne. It seems out of place and out of character on me. I'll let my boyfriend try this one out, and if he doesn't like it, it can go age for a little while and I'll see if it grows on me more. I do hate to part with it because of the nostalgia, but it's not something I'll reach for.

In imp: fresh, true rose On, wet: WOAH, rose! Dry: ROOOOOOOSE! In the very background, there's a sweetness (or maybe that's part of the rose) and something fresh. Really though, all you smell is rose. The good news is that it lasts forever. A couple of dabs in the crease of my arm and it's 12 hours later and the scent is still very much there. Even after tossing and turning in bed. Very strong at first, and you definitely don't want to go overboard on this one. I keep it away from my face (ie: Not on my neck or wrists that may be near my face) or I feel like I'd get a headache from this one. ETA: This is one of those scents that really grows on you with time. It's very pretty, but sadly, I'm just not a rose person. It's scent takes over my imp container, and I always wonder which one smells so good, and it's Ophelia. She's been passed on to another home though. Hopefully she'll get more wear.

When I put this on, I smelled mainly pineapple and coconut. As it dried, I got more of a grassy, clean scent. Without looking at the notes, I was sure this was a coconut/pineapple/grass blend. I now see that I was dead wrong. I don't think this smells pink, more like somewhere between light yellow and bright green. This one will need to be tried again to see if I get any of the citrus notes. It wasn't a favourite, but I didn't mind it. The scent didn't last long on me (although it's still on my jammies, so my skin must eat it) and had a short throw.

Imp: Peach and musk, lovely. Wet: Same as imp Dry: Peach topnote, musk in the front as well. Bergamot and what must be oakmoss and heliotrope (mostly oakmoss and bergamot I think though) in the background rounding out the scent and giving it depth. It's absolutely gorgeous. Very ladylike, and like someone said earlier, Dorian sprang to mind when I sniffed it. They are quite similar, only I think Fae is a lot sweeter. The peach is quite syrupy. They have nothing in common other than musk, so it's strange that they smell so alike. This is one of my favourites so far, along with Dorian. If it doesn't get onto my bottle list, I never want to be without an imp of it. I do wish it had a little more throw, as I can just BARELY smell it 5-6 inches from my skin.

I couldn't resist Mr Bird. He's so cute and feathery and flamboyant. In bottle: Mmm, exactly what I was hoping. You can smell almost all of the individual notes, although guava, orange, plum, and caramel are standing out the most On, wet: There's some violet, the fruit isn't as juicy anymore. Drydown: Caramel wanted to be center stage on my skin, and pushed guava, orange, plum, and everyone else backstage. Violet tries to peek out from behind the curtain every so often but gets menacing glances from caramel, and pops back inside. This has decent throw and good staying power, but caramel is really dominating the whole Magah Bird show on my skin. Oddly enough, the secondary note to the caramel seems to be a sharp nut, like pecan or walnut. Mr Bird is a showoff, and is making up notes that don't even exist in this blend.

I went straight to the bottle on this one because I'm a huge foodie. In bottle: Mmm, cake and vanilla with something in the background. Must be the currants. Wet: Mmm, cake vanilla with something. Must still be the currants. Dry: This is a strong one, and lasts quite awhile. The rich undertone comes out more on the drydown, but the cake never goes away. The currants never add fruitiness to this, it adds more depth and richness than fruit. Very nice, and great for cold weather. Glad I've got a bottle. ETA: If you roll this one between your palms before applying, you get WAY more cake than currants. It's much better rolled, so if the currants are too strong, try rolling.

This is lovely. Crisp and fresh. It'd be excellent for a hot summer day, and isn't too unusual or strong to wear to work. Imp: Mmm, white tea and grapefruit Wet: Same. Dry: Tea fades and grapefruit takes over. Fades and is completely gone within 2 hours or so. Low throw, which is nice for this type of scent. I really, really like it but there are similar tea blends that I want to try to see if they last longer. I'd like a bottle in this general family of scents, but I'd like a bit more lasting power. Definitely keeping my imp and will save it for the blazing hot summer we're bound to get.

Imp: Mmm, very green, almost aquatic smelling. I'm not getting floral. I like it. Wet: Green, and floral, but green is the top note. Very clean, smells like shower gel. Drydown: Something sharp (floral) and sweetness (the herbs? it does smell vaguely candyish though, although I wouldn't call this foody whatsoever). Basically, it smells like soap and cherry lollipop or something. This is VERY light (yet pretty strong at the same time, if that makes any sense), I can barely smell it after 15 minutes, and it's just that sharp floral/sweetness there. Maybe my skin eats something in this. For the headache sensitive: this might trigger one if you smelled it for a couple hours, but it doesn't seem to last that long, so it should be okay. I'm going to let this age awhile and see if that sharp drydown soap note backs off at all. Verdict: It's okay, but probably not my kind of scent. ETA: As my sniffer gets more atuned, I'm really liking this one. Not a bottle purchase for me, but I've found myself craving this one on occasion.

Frimped. I do like orchid, but tend to not like floral scents as they give me headaches. In imp: Strong floral with a hint of sweetness On wet: Very strong, somewhat dusty but sweet orchid. Yep, just like it's supposed to. Dry, about an hour later: Oh it's nice. The first hour was awfully strong, but it does have a sweetness that keeps it from being too bad. It's calmed down a lot and is now a sweet orchid. Very pretty. Low throw now. To have any throw on the dry down, you'd need a fair amount on initially, which may kill you with it's strongness until it settles down. I dabbed only a little on and was fine, but this has headache inducing potential if it was worn in larger quantities. It's not cloying, but "heady" is a word that would describe it well. I would like to give this one a couple more tries, and will keep the imp. Thanks lab!

Black tea, cherry blossom, ho wood, calla lily, rice wine, and white mint. In bottle: Oh dear God, this smells like the dentist. That gritty crap they polish your teeth with. You can even smell the latex, like the technician's gloves. I was so hoping to love this one, it sounded so pretty. Wet: Okay, it's still dentisty, but now it's tooth polish, latex gloves, AND toothpaste (the mint, I guess). Also something vaguely floral, must be the cherry blossom. The tooth polish fades a bit. Good. Dry- top notes of cherry blossom and sweet mint. Nice, still reminiscent of the dentist, but surely a vast improvement from the bottle smell. Thankfully this one becomes reasonably nice within about 15 minutes or less. I never get the tea, although there's a slight sweetness that may be the rice wine (it seems to sweeten the mint), and I definitely get the cherry blossom. The wood note may be there as well. This is well blended and does round out nicely once it's dry, as long as you don't have a serious dentist phobia. It's January and grey and cold out, and I don't think this perfume will be nice until spring. It'll have much more appeal around March or April, I suspect. ETA: Yep, in late April, this is rather lovely. Not so dentisty, more of a cool floral mint. There's definitely the rice wine in there sweetening this up. I also suspect this may have needed some aging to get rid of the astringent edge. Brand new, it was almost unbearable for the first hour, but now a few months later, this is pretty almost immediately after application. ETA again, almost a year after last ETA: Holy lord this got beautiful. All astringentness is gone and whats left is a sweet, cool cherry blossom scent. Wood isn't present. Dominant note is cherry blossom, followed by sweetness from the rice wine (smells more like just sweet rice), and a whisper of mint. Doesn't smell minty at all, just cool, which is probably the mint. LOVE, SO glad I didn't get rid of it.

First review! Oh my, yes. In the bottle, it's slightly medicinal lemon tea. On, but wet: Mostly lemon with a bit of tea. Dry: Oh yes. Vanilla comes out and plays with the lemon tea and you get a scent reminiscent of Victorian castles around tea time. It smells like old, pretty things. I think it's the tea and vanilla, with just a hint of musk in the background. The lemon really fades out from the forefront, but is still there behind the vanilla and tea. SO pretty, and so very very me. Verdict: I'd declare it a favourite, but it's the first one I've tried. I think it'll be staying in the top 3 though, no matter what else I try. Glad I went for the bottle right away.
