Smells like medicine, alright. I'm amazed at how people get such a variety of impressions from this one! In the imp: a light, astringent smell. Wet: aloe, anise, other things I can't quite place, but still very mediciney. Dry: Well, it gets a little less spiky, and there are hints of white florals that turn soapy on me. In fact, I almost TASTE soap when I smell this. Bizarre.

    Smut

Smut 06 Bottle: Kinda like a cherry-flavored jolly rancher. Wet: Weird. It's sort of a waxy, boozy smell. It fades rather quickly. Drydown: still fading....where did you go! I never really got a good whiff of it to be able to tell more.

    Schrodinger's Cat

Imp: Citrus and mint! I can clearly pick out bitter grapefruit. Wet: the lavender pops out from the citrus and warms everything up on my skin. No sign of chocolate or sugar. Dry: ...oh. Oakmoss is in this? That note that turns to pine-scented soap on me? Cool. Great. Yeah. At least it's a citrusy kind of soap. This is a scent I'd love to have in a shower gel. As a perfume, though, it would smell like I'm still in the shower. No thanks! Also, what the heck is zdravetz, besides an amazing scrabble word?

    Villain

villian imp: lavender and light musk. Yum. Also a hint of lilac. Wet: It's very faint, but there's a bit of a waxy smell to this. The citrus peeks out a bit from the musk. So far, so good. Dry: I get the feeling in my nose that there's a minty freshness in here, but I don't actually smell mint. Overall, a delicate, clean smell with overtones of lavender and citrus. I could definitely smell this on a man, but there's a unisex quality to it that makes it work for me as well. (Considering Dorian is one of my top 3, I'm not surprised. )

    Tushnamatay

Imp: Sweet, earthy sandalwood. Wet: The points on the sandalwood go away and leave a smooth scent with a hint of spice. Dry: Oh, this is nice. It smells like...clean. It's very relaxing. Sorry...I can't really be more specific.

    Antique Lace

Imp: warm vanilla, faint musk, and...well, linen. This is amazing. Wet: I just have a barely testable amount, but it smells exactly like it does in the imp, only much more enveloping, almost warming. These florals are definitely playing nice. Drydown: the sweetness of the vanilla is mellowing out, leaving a slightly spicy yet clean scent. Why, oh why did I have to like this so much! ::cries:: Dry: Hey...wait...where'd it go? My skin! It ate it!

    Pumpkin Patch V (2005, 2006)

Pumpkin Patch '06 In the imp: buttery pumpkin and a hint of woodsiness. Wet: Ooooh. That smells so, so good. A hit of spice comes out of the pumpkin, but not overwhelmingly so. Drydown: the ivy and something really smooth comes over the pumpkin, and it smells just awesome on me. I'm not sure what it is. Dry: Sweet, glossy leaves and a hint of pumpkin spice. Amazing. I wonder if there's even any bottles left around...

    Gingerbread Poppet

In the imp: mmm, gingerbread and butter and nutty. Wet: Oh, look, it's a clove on my arm. Le sigh. Dry: same. Off to swap!

    Gluttony

Imp: chocolate, vanilla, and hazelnut. Mmm. Wet: Weird. It kinda smells coconutty to me. In fact, that's all I can really smell from it. Dry: I get a sharp spicy scent from this. Perhaps it's the hops, or the pralines? It's similar to the overly potent spice I get from Shug-Niggurath, kind of like cinnamon red-hots. Regardless, I think I shall pass this one on.

Luminescent, glowing, and otherworldly: green mandarin, neroli, honeydew, white amber, guava, freesia, white and green musks hovering over desert scrub, smashed wood, and the dry, biting scent of night air over the Groom Lake salt flats. imp: YUM. the perfect light musk, floral, sweet citrusy blend. My wrist quivers in anticipation--what will pop out?! Wet: dewy fruits, greenness, all rounded out by the light musks. Dry: Best. Frimp. Ever. I still get plenty of melon and musk, though the citrus has mostly faded. I can see why people say it smells commercial, but I think it has better staying power and is a better blend than other random perfumes I've tried. It also has incredible throw on me. Drier: The white musk is warming the scent more and more, as it usually does. I am in love. Note: This dried down and turned brown on my skin. There's no itch or anything...just...brown. Weird! I'm still keeping it!

    Florence

Imp: I get a lot of berries in the imp, and what i assume is the iris; it smells generically floral to me. Wet: Sharp sweet berries and a hint of spice comes out. Drydown: I tend to amp spicy things (which I like, honestly), but it's not tempered by anything on my skin. Dry: Spicy....chapstick? Hmm. Not a keeper.

    Fire for Thy Stepmother's Daughters

Like many other reviewers, while I get dark and smoky in the imp, it goes floral/fruity in the wet stage. When dry, though, it has an odd sweet smell that I can't quite place. There also might be red musk? Not sure. Didn't keep this one.

    Ode on Melancholy

Imp: very lavender, rose. Wet: I get so much rose and sandalwood! I like it in the wet stage. Dry: Hmm...something in this goes powdery, and though there's the white musk I love so much, there's not much else holding my interest here. It's a nice scent, though.

    Dana O'Shee

In the imp: a very sweet honey smell, almost like the artificial almond flavor smell. Wet: slightly plasticky, warming into almond butter, or maybe rice milk, almost. I kind like it! Drydown: It dries down to a delicate, milky scent, but it has no throw to it. I have to get my nose very close to smell anything, and that's after two applications. Sad, because when I huff I really do like it! Maybe it'll be a late bloomer like Mama-ji on me. Dry: Well, at least it's not fading anymore. It stays consistently near my wrist. Pretty pretty, but not sure if I'll wear it often. Maybe I should look into layering?

    Defututa

imp: i get dark vanilla patchouli with some spicy florals. complex even in the imp! wet: the florals come out more (I can't tell them apart, really), and i get a sandalwood note. the sweetness of the vanilla went away, and there's no honey, either. Drydown: weird. Usually I amp honey. Maybe there's something else here that's taking over? I don't get any cinnamon, either. Just an earthy floral smell. It's not bad, but I'm not terribly excited about it. Dry: Oh, ha ha, just kidding, there's the honey. The florals are still present as well. I think I might keep this. Note: I tried this at the same time as Dana O'Shee, and I must say my wrists smell very good together! It beefs up the vanilla and honey in Defututa when I hold them both close to my nose.

    Clémence

Imp: Clooove, a touch of pepper, and maybe the carnation? Wet: Clove still, but a bit sweeter. I smell cinnamon, oddly enough, though maybe I'm confusing it with cardamom. It's a very dark, spicy scent. Drydown: It's official; I definitely amp clove, and it's giving me a headache. No good. Dry: I left it on for a bit longer, just to see if it morphed, and lo and behold! The clove went away a bit, and I can smell more of the tea and carnation. I think this is still too dark for me, though.

    Megaera

imp: plum, something earthy. Wet: More plum, amber (but not so bad on me this time), and some of the citrus is popping out. Drydown: The amber is very spiky in my nose (or is that orris? or bergamot?), and it's smelling rather mediciney, though the plum is warming up nicely. I might look for other things with plum in it to see what they're like. Dry: Never mind. Why do I keep smelling like stale fruit snacks! Eventually I get spice and grapefruit-flavored snacks, but fruit snacks all the same. Alas.

    Dorian

Imp: wonderful, glorious, sweet musk with some citrus and mint. Wet: the vanilla pops out on its own briefly before settling in to cover the musk and citrus. I get a touch of lavender, too. Dry: I knew I loved this scent and have worn it multiple times before I wrote up this review, so I'll just cut to the end and say that this has a ridiculous throw on me, lasts forever, and smells like an extension of me-smell. It softens perfectly into warm vanilla musk.

    Les Bijoux

In the bottle: peach gum, apples, light florals, and a bit of spice. Wet: Musk, myrrh, still a bit of apple. It stays very close to my skin. As it dries, the roses come out to play, and I barely get a whiff of dark honey, way up in my nostrils. I really like this stage. Dry: Oh, there's definitely honey now, and I'm almost surprised that my wrist isn't sticky! So, honey and apples, with roses barely registering in the background. I think this is a keeper for me.

    Spellbound

Spellbound: I've noticed a difference between smelling the wand and smelling the imp itself. The wand: Sharp, spiky musk. The imp: warm, sweet...something. Wet: It kinda smells like dirt and a bit like playdoh...what? I'm not getting any rose at all. Also, it makes me cough when I sniff it. It's looking like amber isn't playing very nicely with my skin. Dry: Yeah...no. It smells nice to me in the imp, but not so good on my skin. Wash-off time.

    Under the Harvest Moon

In the bottle: floral, leafy, with some sweetness from the vanilla. Wet: Oooh. Amber, the musks that love me (white, especially), and warm floral, carnation, I think. I likey. Dry: White musk and roses, wrapped in warm vanilla. Can’t get much better than this. As a huge Dorian lover, I am not surprised, and I’m glad that I have this as a more floral alternative. Must find more!!

    Jack

In the imp: buttery, sweet apple cider, with spicy candle smell. Wet: definitely like the warm apple yankee candle, but it’s going away and a new smell of pumpkin pie is emerging. Dry: I only got a tiny bit to test from, but clove amps on me, and, well, there’s the clove. This time it’s tempered by the sweet peach and pumpkin, but I’m gonna play it safe and probably not look for any more. (Not like anyone seems to want to let go of it! ) Drier: Yeah, really waxy at this point, even. Too bad. I need to find myself a good autumn scent!

    Cheshire Cat

In the imp: holy moly, grapefruit. Like snorting a crushed vitamin C pill. Wet: Sweeter grapefruit, plus a touch of lavender, and it throws like crazy on me. Drying: Uh oh. Something went really funky on me, like lemon pledge crossed with herbs crossed with stale fruit snacks. Dry: Okay, what? Now it’s the fruit snack smell with the lavender, and the dark musk has finally come out. Summary: it morphs a lot, but I don’t know if it’ll last long enough to get a “final” smell. Probably not going to keep it.

    Santa Eularia Des Riu

In the bottle: bitter orange rind. Wet: The rind immediately softens to a warmer orange juice and lavender smell. I’m surprised I don’t get much jasmine, as I am actually a big fan of that scent. Dry: The jasmine comes in late for me, and there’s still some bitter orange rind in the drydown. Overall, it reminds me of an orange scent from Bath and Bodyworks that I used to have. Glad I have the imp, but I probably won’t use this too often. My roommate likes it on me a lot, though, so maybe I'll try again later.

    Bastet

... Luxuriant amber, warm Egyptian musk, fierce saffron and soft myrrh, almond, cardamom and golden lotus. OMG, my first review! In the bottle: almondy-cherry-flavored candy. Wet: Turns to musk and a blossomy, almost minty smell. Yum. Dry: There’s the cardamom, but this smell goes very faint on me. There’s still a bit of almond, though it smells more like almond husks to me than the candied flavor in the bottle itself. Or maybe I’ve been smelling it too hard. In summary, if it didn’t fade so much on me, it’d be more intriguing, and I can’t identify this weird icy-hot thing going on when I smell it.
