    Lorelei

I have been at the Loreley rock many times - beautiful place, beautiful landscape! Imp: Ylang ylang (which always smells floral AND fruity to me) and juicy orange. Wet: A nice mix of floral and fruity notes. Very bright and sunny but with an aquatic hint. Dry: It is a nice semi-sweet blend that doesn't really develop as I had hoped it would. My skin eats it all up. I guess maybe the sandalwood will show up after a while.

    Nemesis

Imp: Cypress, rose and patchouli. Very intense, sharp, medicinal. Rather dark green and fresh. Wet: Sweet herbal and medicinal notes. Dry: Almost minty. Sweet, resinous and very woodsy. Like a nice old chest that has been polished. A chest that is filled with dried roses from a past love affair. Very faint on me and rather tart. Meh.

    Pumpkin II (2008)

Here is a review to plug my weenie hole.. Imp: Good, delicious, creamy, nutty pumpkin. There is a tart, smokey and sour undertone with a dash of orange. Wet: Nutty and sour. Dry: Hmm.. light vanilla-nut pumpkin with something more savory. Wood and leather? Maybe the opoponax and leather turn sour on my skin, or maybe this decant just hasn't aged well. It's OK because the scent dries down to mostly pumpkin, but I wish the other notes worked better with my skin.

    Plunder

Spiciness overkill! Imp: Cassia, cinnamon, tea and clove. Very spicy! Wet: Cassia and clove are very strong in this one! Dry: Smokey spices and strong tea. Could imagine this one has a long staying power. Doesn't burn despite the cinnamon and cassia. Not too dark/sharp despite the pepper. Nice blend. Have to second that.. seems right for winter.

    Boomslang v2

SO GLAD I got this!! Normally my bottle purchases end up on the swap pile for some reason. Bottle: Almost smells like aged Snake Oil. Very much vanilla, spices, soft chocolate and a nutty undertone. Wet: Mmmmm.. Snake Oil and soft cocoa. There is definitely something nutty going on.. hazelnut chocolate or even something almond. Dry: Just beautiful and perfect! Smells like cocoa or dark chocolate (but behaved), hazelnut and sweet almond mixed with aged Snake Oil. I had both aged Snake Oil and even aged Boomslang to compare. It sits right between them and has the lovely quality of spicy vanilla but is less chcocolaty than Boomslang. I wouldn't mind more chocolate, but I am delighted about the nutty note in the blend. Awesome! can't wait to find out how this one ages. ETA: This one lasts! I put it on in the morning after my shower. It stayed with me all day and have an awesome throw! I could evens till smell it at night in bed! I put on some Van Van because I like to believe it helps me sleep. And, underneath that strong smell of Van Van, I could still smell the Snake Oil! Next morning: ready for a new round of testing on the back of my hand.. and there it is still! Wow.. that's some strong vanilla in there!

    Gingerbread Poppet

Reviewing the 2010 version. Bottle: Delicious gingerbread! Cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, all there. Maybe even some cardamom. Wet: Spicy and fruity. Dry: Somehow a note of cinnamon plums appears. Very dark, deep and fruity. I have had plum cake with cinnamon streusel this morning, and.. my wrist smells just like that! The clove is also a strong note in this one, and I find that just lovely! Dare I say this is a dark version of March Hare on me?

    Dia de los Muertos

Reviewing the 2006 version. Imp: Dried flowers, probably roses. Dusty, dry, slightly sweet, A waft of cocoa and maybe tobacco. Wet: Sweet and fruity candy plus roses.. or other flowers, and it's the juicy sweetness that makes me think otherwise. Yes, a bright yellow/orange smell: sunny, warm, friendly. Dry: Sweet, fruity, slightly dusty. Sadly, no more cocoa or foody notes. Have to see how this one develops on my skin. Reminds me very much of Samhain, though. Is that apple?

    Skuld

One of my first frimps.. Imp: Sticky sweet honey and oriental spices/resins. Wet: Fresh honey, strong but not as sweet. Dry: There is something.. off in that honey note. Maybe when it is blended with something else it does not work on my skin? I have t try it on another patch or my skin and see if it works then. If yes - yay, keeper! if not - swap pile.

    Manila

A tropical, humid, lush scent, with a faint echo of Pacific breezes, jungle blossoms, and deep wet woods. Sampaguita blossoms, banana leaf, palm, and narra. Oh, something else entirely! Imp: Banana, Sweet, almost artificial banana, Wet: Banana, green leaves and pretty florals. Dry: Dries down to somewhat soft spicy green leaves and tropical flowers. No more in-your-face banana. Nice to keep but no bottle wish.

    Ops

Frimp from a very friendly forumite! Imp: Reminds me very much of Bread-and-Butterfly! Toasted bread and weak tea with a nice citrus note as well. Wet: Still toast and lemon tea. Dry: Toast (or non-sugary cake?) with faint anise, clove and cinnamon in the dry-down. Foody but also dangerously close to fennel/fish oil on my skin. Nice fresh lemon peel note to it too. But still not for me.

    Shoggoth

Hello awesome? Imp: Fresh and light! I smell amber, coconut, lots of light white floral notes and lemongrass. Really great! Wet: Creamy white flowers with coconut and lime. Almost like a delicious alcohol-free cocktail! Dry: Yep, bottle wish. I'm a sucker for light creamy citrus blends!

    Come to Me

A phenomenally powerful attractant. Sexual and commanding in the extreme. Darn roses! Imp: Roses! Soapy sweet detergent-like roses. Smells like.. I don't know.. old lady soap I guess. I think I detect roses and/or gardenia and lily of the valley. Wet: Sour-sweet roses. Dry: Citrusy and slightly dusty gardenia/rose. Like any average detergent, sorry.

    The Death-Horse

How can there be only one page of reviews? Imp: Wow.. that is.. unexpected? Very spicy, salty and foody. Like.. curry? I detect notes of curry and curcuma.. perhaps lovage as well. Strange. Wet: Pure lovage. Huh?! Dry: OK.. still sour, salty and full of lovage. I don't know.. did anyone mess with this frimp? I'd put it in my soup, but not on my skin!
  14. Honey

    Languor

A frimp I would never have ordered myself I think. Imp: A waft of heavy, sweet and soapy florals. Wet: Still very floral and soapy. Dry: A soapy opium & floral mix. I can actually smell the poppy! Nice.. but rather for an actual soap and nor a perfume.
  15. Honey

    Sri Lanka

Imp: I smell sandalwood, incense and resins. Very powdery, dusty, woodsy and spicy. Wet: Dry sandalwood. Very powdery and light. Dry: Dry sandalwood and incense. Simple nice blend but a bit boring.
  16. Honey

    Bengal

So many duds today, maybe one winner? Imp: Honey musk with cinnamon, yup. Not as sweet and super spicy as I had thought it would be. Wet: Reminds me of Eclipse. Very light on the cinnamon. Cannot smell any clove or ginger. Light honey musk. Same yeasty bread smell as Eclipse has. Dry: Oh, yummy honey! Honey gets stronger after dry-down. Still no clove or ginger. Need to test this longer and with more slather.

    Grandmother of Ghosts

Oh.. cannot even guess what this will smell like. Imp: Tart, woodsy, herbal (laurel) and maybe a light green floral note. Wet: Herbal wood and a white/green floral note. Light and earthy. Strong on the pepper, no mandarin. Dry: Sweet, fragrant wood but too strong a pepper. Rather herbal than fruity. Nice but not my thing.
  18. Honey

    Eclipse

Sounds lovely! Imp: Interesting. Smells like bitter almond with a dash of cinnamon and.. stale bread? Wet: Very yeasty, bread-like. Odd. Dry: Better. Still bitter almond and cinnamon (reminds me very much of a tame, non-fiery version of Inferno) plus something.. fresh and green, a floral note (must be the heliotrope then). Vanilla and frankincense appear after a while. But the blend.. well, it doesn't really work for me.
  19. Honey

    Dragon's Eye

Finally - lilac! Imp: A lovely, sweet, light and creamy floral note. Lily of the Valley and lilac with a soft creamy undertone are prominent in this scent. Wet: Lilac with a sour undertone to it. Dry: There is something sharp and sour like pee that clouds the lovely lilac! Very soapy.. and, I think dragon's blood just does not work for me. Oh, OH... the pee note goes away, and a creamy soapy lilac remains.. it is not so bad, might keep this and see if there are occasions for which this scent is quite right.

    Danse Macabre

Let's see if we can find the hazelnut.. Imp: Dark, sweet cypress and moss. Wet: Men's cologne. Dry: Dusty and nutty in the dry-down. The sweetness comes from the frankincense I think, the dark quality from cypress and moss. It's OK, but doesn't really give me a kick (not even for the bf).
  21. Honey

    Bread-and-Butter-Fly

Butter - behave! Imp: Toasted bread with weak tea. Wet: Buttered toast, weak tea and celery (butter notes do that to me). Dry: Smells just like freshly toasted bread with anise tea. Interesting smell but not really something I want to wear.
  22. Honey

    Mata Hari

Yay, coffee! No, roses! Imp: It's roses and roses! Maybe a hint of vanilla and coffee. Wet: More roses, fruity and sweet. Dry: Roses. Sadface. But, hey, what did I expect from the notes in this scent?
  23. Honey

    Bayou

Still trying to widen my smell horizon.. Imp: Creamy florals (gardenia) with a salty/sour undertone. Wet: Sweet floral. Dry: Hmm.. gardenia which reminds me of rose. Nice but not really my thing.
  24. Honey

    Hecate

Hmmm.. will that butter like me? Imp: Bitter almond (like the flavor oil you use for baking cake) with a slightly sour undertone. Wet: Bitter almond - not sickly sweet bit.. somewhat green and fresh. Dry: Hmmm.. spicy and herbal bitter almond. Not too heavy. I need to give this a 24h trial.

Summer! Imp: Fruity, sweet apricot. Much stronger (and more yummy) than the apricot in March Hare Wet: Lovely! Fruity sweet apricot. Doesn't smell like peach hand soap (yay!). Dry: Still mainly apricot. Beautiful summer scent, I can only echo that statement.
