An Incubus Leaving Two Sleeping Women

Bottle: Oh, sharp but lovely! Vanilla honey with musk, floral notes, wooden notes - balmy, fragrant, boozy.. this is really complex, even only sniffed from the bottle! Wet: OK, this is like an earthy and sharp version of Womb Furie mixed with The Infernal Lover. Dry: This dries down to something very earthy and spicy. This is almost only brown musk and pepper. Alas, no more honey and vanilla. Too bad, it was just perfect in its wet stage!

    Nightmare

Bottle: Lavender with a hint of (non-marzipan) almond? Definitely creamy and not too strong. Wet: This is.. interesting. Lavender with fruit and a note that reminds me of.. jasmine rice. Very nutty. This is a creamy floral scent with soft spikes of lavender and fruit. Dry: The fruity note doesn't let this go too tart. Lavender and poppy seem to be the strongest floral notes in this one, but I am sure the jasmine will show up after a while since it's a strong base note. Alas, I don't detect any honey in this one. The longer it stays on my skin, the more it turns into "lavender with blackberry gum drops." I think this would make an awesome linen spray, but I will have to test this for a whole day to see if I can wear it as a regular perfume oil.

    Pumpkin Latte

Bottle: Pumpkin spice and buttery pumpkin. Wet: This is almost.. a savory scent. Smells like burned stale coffee, salt, kitchen spices (lovage?), some sweet spices (washed out cinnamon and nutmeg). This is really salty and smokey. And not pleasant at all. Dry: This stays awful. Seriously. I have to go wash this off.
  4. Honey

    Ogun

Imp: Gin & juniper (very much like cologne) and tobacco & chili pepper (very smokey and peppery). Wet: Tobacco and pepper. Very dark, smokey and masculine. Dry: Pepper with a hint of clove? Yeah, that's all I really get from this. It's not too bad though.
  5. Honey

    Eros

Imp: Sweet (floral/juicy) with something bitter underneath. Wet: Honey wine (like in Fairy Wine) and powdery lilac. Dry: Smells like fresh linens. I do get a mild celery whiff, though. Something bitter appears.. the tea? Hmm.. not really for me I think.
  6. Honey

    Chimera

Imp: Cinnamon and myrrh. On my skin: A balmy, creamy cinnamon spiced up by myrrh. Simple yet lovely!
  7. Honey

    Midway

No idea what version I am reviewing here. Imp: Omg, sugar and toffee and caramel! That's cotton candy and candy apples right there! Really nice sugar that does NOT smell burned or rancid. Sticky sweet and yummy! Wet: Straight greasy-sweet funnel cake and toffee and cotton candy! Dry: This reminds me a lot of Storyville, and it is so different from most of the BPAL sugar blends. Nothing burned or rancid, just fried funnel cake and cotton candy and toffee. Lovely and mouthwatering!

    Storyville

Imp: Smells like butterscotch, toffee, caramel.. very sweet and maybe a bit boozy. Hard to make out. On my skin: Very creamy sweet musky vanilla. I cannot test enough from this tester/sniffy, but the amount on my arm just smells divine. It smells like.. cotton candy, the faintest floral note (powdery lilac?), slightly foody and, most of all, buttery and sugary. Delightful.

    Elf

Imp: How.. unexpected. Smell like.. evergreen and berries = sweet and fresh & woodsy I assume. Wet: Yep, still evergreen - not unpleasant. And no violet so far, yay! Maybe the parma variant is a good one that does not make me throw up! Does it equal sugared violets or just.. something sweet and purple? Dry: This is mostly berry and sweet flowers with only a fresh hint of the evergreen. Very soapy somehow - maybe because it reminds me of some generic fruity/floral shower gel. Hmm, still, it is not bad!

    Peitho

Imp: Spicy, floral, sweet - like an oriental perfume. Wet: Jasmine, lily, musk and resins. Dry: Like an oriental soap.. I guess that smells somehow like grandma to me.
  11. Honey

    Sed Non Satiata

Imp: How odd.. this smells very nutty and boozy! Wet: The myrrh makes it spicy alright but the cognac and the acetone feel of the Lab's honey note make it really sharp and sour. The flowers turn really soapy, but the patchouli behaves. Dry: Very dusty with a light honey note. Meh.
  12. Honey

    Salomé

Imp: Like spicy, floral marzipan. Wet: Almond/marzipan and jasmine. Dry: Really musky and dark (oakmoss) on the dry-down. Where did the almond go? Hmmm. Spicy/soapy jasmine it is.
  13. Honey

    Kindly Moon

Imp: Sweet white floral notes, almost fruity! Wet: Hyacinth and ylang ylang are very dominant in this scent. Very golden and lovely. Dry: Just happy bright flowers. Do not detect the vanilla bean or the sandalwood though.
  14. Honey

    Hearth

Imp: I can smell the candied and buttered chestnuts plus a fresh waft of pine. Wet: The same.. buttery baked goods smell that I know from Bread-and-Butterfly and other similar scents. Turns into fennel/celery and sour milk on me again. Eww. Dry: This smells exactly like Bread-and-Butterfly on me! Sorry, I guess I should just stay away from butter notes from the Lab!
  15. Honey

    Delphi

Oookay, unexpected! Imp: Sweet, fruity and herbal. No idea what I am smelling but it reminds me of apple juice or sweet apple wine (cider). Wet: Laurel and/or bay are dominant in this one.. the rest, apple juice or apple sauce. The lightest waft of honey. Dry: This is fruity and rather dry. Incense and spices with a light sweetness. This is a scent unlike any other, weird but nice in a way. Reminds me of honeyed roses somehow.
  16. Honey

    Brown Jenkin

Imp: Very dusty and dry. The sweet orris root jumps right at you. Wet: Creamy, dry, floral coconut. Dry: Bit.. medicinal. Orris root doesn't really do it for me I guess. Oh - after a while the orris root disappears and it's mainly sandalwood and creamy unsweet coconut on me. That's how I like it! Will keep that imp!

    Honey and Beeswax scents

OK, maybe I am repeating previous suggestions, but here it goes.. O - Goes without saying. Skuld - Very dominant honey note! If you don't mind ylang ylang, then this is awesome! Womb Furie - A bit chemical at first but dries down to a lovely Snake Oil plus honey combo! It's like a spicy version of O I think. Alice - Has honey and rose in it, should be right up your alley! Unless you cannot stand milky/citrusy undertones. Half Elf v5 - Smells like beeswax and lilac on me. Very creamy and powdery. Love it! No. 93 Engine - Totally forgot to add this. Lovely spicy frankincense honey!

    Thirteen (13): March 2009

Imp: Oh yum! This is rich cocoa, sweet spices and maraschino cherry (almond)! Wet: The cocoa is a bit.. dusty and dry, could be a richer kind of chocolate. Has a very dry nutty (almond) note with a fruity cherry undertone. Dry: Dries down to something a bit.. yeah, smells a bit like paper, cocoa powder (dry) and almonds. Meh, I guess my skin soaks up the wrong parts!

    Thirteen (13): February 2009

Imp: Spicy and a bit soapy! Wet: Smells like chocolate and.. salty lovage?! Rather savory. Dry: Despite the ginger and the chocolate, this smells rather salty to me. Salty and soapy. Sadly, not really my thing.
  20. Honey

    Lawn Gnome

Imp: Slightly sour-sweet, like freshly cut flowers. Just more.. sugary. Wet: Oh, yum! It's sweet berries and sugar splash! Lovely creamy vanilla.. oh, this is so good! I am not a fan of patchouli, but it is wonderful in this scent. It grounds the super sweet berry vanilla cream and adds a little.. earth, body and texture. So wish I had a bottle of this! Dry: Like super sweet berry ice cream that has melted away in the sun and dribbled down on an earthy patch in the garden. Yes, that is exactly what it smells like!
  21. Honey

    Eos

Imp: Uagh - something between pickle and nail polish remover! Wet: Reminds me very much of The Death-Horse I think. Pickled flowers comes to my mind. Very sour and only slightly green. Dry: The acrid sharp alcoholic note disappears a little and white-green floral notes remain. It's OK but not my thing. ETA: This actually turns into a lovely jasmine scent on me! I really like jasmine a lot! Hmmm, normally not much for floral scents but this one is quite nice.
  22. Honey

    Ladon

Imp: Fruity, tart, slightly dusty/murky apple. Wet: This is like mashed Braeburn rubbed allover my skin. Dry: Still smells like yellow apple - not to sweet, not too green. Perfect for apple lovers I say!
  23. Honey

    Hony Mone

Imp: Uhm.. eww? This is a mixture of toilet bowl cleaner and nail polish remover! Faintest hint of honey, OK. Wet: Pure acetone! There is something nutty under the acrid acetone note that could be almonds and honey. But, really, this is horrible. Dry: Coconut nail polish remover or hairspray. One of the worst BPAL scents I have ever tried.
  24. Honey

    The Great Sword of War

Imp: Very-- fruity and soapy. I can smell mandarin, and there is tea and cocoa and the herbs. Wet: Hmmm.. I guess this is mainly mandarin and musk with something.. like.. cocoa or coconut in the background. Really citrus and nuts mainly. Reminds me of cake with orange cream filling. Dry: Still mainly citrus and musk. Definitely creamy and slightly herbal. Guess this will tone down a little after a while. It becomes muskier after a while, and the cocoa shows up as well. It is rather unisex I think. Sharp and spicy but not in a ginger/cinnamon kind of way. And, no, this is a nice citrus that does not smell like any detergent or cleaning product.
  25. Honey

    Paramatman

Imp: Very soapy-spicy. Orange blossom is dominant at my first sniff. Wet: Rather tart, mainly orange. Dry: Very dark, dry sandalwood and tart orange. Rather masculine I'd say, and a bit soapy too. The champaca reminds me very much of incense - and of an oriental men's cologne. Not for me really.
