    Ketchup!

9/15/10 How do you feek about silly, funny knick-knack, dollar store stuff, stickers, magnets etc? Would you like receiving that kind of stuff or rather not? Rather not Is there a specific book you've been wanting to get but haven't found the time or the opportunity to? Oh, so many! American Gods and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo come to mind. Do you read mangas/watch animes? Which ones? Do you have a particular favourite? Would you like to receive managas or anything related to them? Probably not Are you open to receiving things that are not on your wishlist, maybe something your Witch thinks you might like? Sure! I have not really started exploring many other perfume etailers, and I bet there are some out there that I would love! I suspect many of Possetts blends that have notes I like would be big hits with me. If you have something on a wishlist that we could craft INSTEAD of buying, though it might not end up identical to the wishlist thing, would it be okay to craft it instead? Obviously we don't want to copy anyone else's design, but if we can replicate the flavour or intent that you like without stepping on toes? Sure! OK, I know that lots of folks love socks. Do you have a preference of length? Materials? Patterns? I like crew cut socks that are warm and comfy that I can wear with casual shoes. I also like some knee socks. Usually darker colors (blues, blacks, browns), but occasionally something fun and bright! 9/14/10 Chocolate or other types of candy? I like chocolate. I'm not an EXTREME chocolate fanatic, but find I like the really really bitter ones, or the sweet milky ones best. For tea drinkers, do you prefer loose leaf or tea bags? Both are good! I love tea! If you would enjoy something of a knitted persuasion, do you have a preference on type of thing? Since making a scarf for someone who has 10 might be a smidge excessive? Also, how do people feel about shawls? I can always use scarfs or mittens. I'm not too sure I need a shawl. Is there a TV, movie or literary character that you are a lot alike, or would like to be alike? I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but Bridget Jones (I like the character a lot, not that I'm very much like her). Also Kay Scarpetta (for the other extreme!). Is there anything you need for your kitchen, ie measuring cups, spoons, grater, ect? I could use a really nice wire whisk, not too big. And a nice stainless steel slotted spoon. Music, DO you prefer Live or Studio? Edited or explicit? I like both live or studio, and don't require any editing. If you are an animal lover, is there a specific type/breed that you love most? I do love animals; cats, dogs, and cows! Also flowers and plants- If you like flowers/plants, do you have a favorite(s)? Way too many! But I am really fond of bee balm and daffodils. Do you have a favorite quotation? Song lyric? Book passage? WhateverthehecktheycalltheanonymousregionalwisdomthingiePROVERB! that word. Not really... What is a bpal scent that you've been dying to try for awhile but just can't find? (A scent where even a tester would do): Hearth Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have some children/spawn (1 or more), and, hypothetically speaking, your witch would like to spoil them a little but knows nothing of kids these days. What do they like or dislike? Also is there anything a (sane) adult might think they would like that you don't think is appropriate for whatever reason? (I'm thinking of things like temp tattoos, make up, things that make noise, or anything else that might be bad for non-obvious reasons.) Sadly, no children in my life. Is there anything you would like that can be delivered over the internet? Things like fanfic recs, cat macros, mp3s you are looking for, how-to or amusing videos, things like that? Maybe mp3s; I have some music listed in my Amazon.com wishlist. I really like Christmas music of all kinds, and am interested in Celtic music and virtually none in my collection. What would your last meal be if it could be anything in the world (sky is the limit, drinks too, the whole shebang) I'm gonna have to think on this. Pizza, bacon, cheesecake, a really perfect peach, a really good Maibock, cheese of many kinds, chocolate bread pudding with heavy cream, and a really tasty salad. NaNoWriMo? huh? 9/13/10 Do you crave many Ecards and contact or are you okay with little contact from your Witch? Either is fine! Do you have a place where you list all the BPAL you have or have tried? I've tried to do this on Scentbase, but currently have given this up. Do you like maple sugar candy? I LOVE this!!! What is your position on the chocolate & bacon flavor combination? I think this is an antisynergistic combination. I love them both alone, though! If you are a tea-drinker do you need a tea-cozie for your pot? Nope! Go to your spice cabinet, what are the three most used spices? Spices and not herbs? Black pepper, cinnamon, cayenne. Microsoft or Apple? Apple! Where was your last vacation? What did you like most? England. Being hosted by some really wonderful people who showed me a wonderful time. Would you appreciate receiving handwritten letters and/or postcards (anonymous or not)? How about sending them? These are nice, but I probably don't appreciate these things as much as I should. Do you hate any food things with a passion?? Mushrooms, although I have been known to eat a morel or drizzle truffle oil on risotto. Would you be opposed to receiving a digital version (via email) of a magazine you like but don't subscribe to...you know, in the interest of saving a tree? Honestly, I don't know if I read a digital version .

    Odd Portents

This one is gorgeous!!! It is a beautiful blend. The rose is not that noticeable yet. The lavender is there, but it is subtle. It is sweet, dark, and while there is a very slight fruitiness to it, it doesn't dominate. Feminine, romantic, and utterly lovely.

Facebook, LinkedIn, and my email provider are the top three other than this one. Sad, I know! But I like cooking sites and homebrew sites and gardening sites. Do you like the Muppets? Also Here Be Dragons (Sharon Kay Penman) and Wideacre Will you be going out of town during the round, or is there any other time during the round when it would not be ideal for you to receive a package from your witch? I will be out of town around October 11-15, but it shouldn't interfere with me getting packages. If you are in school now, what classes are you taking? Does anything you are currently studying really interest you? (if you are not in school, is there anything you are trying to learn?) Alternately, your patronus. Not sure? What's YOUR favorite word? Not sure on this one either! Steampunk, yay or nay? If yay, what part appeals most? Yay. Do you read them? Are there any series you like, or some you would like to try? I went to my first comic book convention recently (to acquire BPAL) and ended up purchasing some comic books. I have not read them yet though . I think the Neil Gaiman Sandman stuff might be interesting though. Warm drinks? Yes, please! Teas, especially! 9/6/10 When you go to an etsy wishlist, it will tell you what things are sold. Rivet.Goth

Thanks to GypsyRoseRed and her Bat's Day sniffing circle I was able to experience Rivet.Goth. Sadly, this is probably one of my least favorite BPAL oils ever. As someone else commented, it smelled like... fertilizer! Or moldy leather? I had to wash it off immediately. It does smell like the inside of a garage, but not in a good way to me. But at least I got to try it!
  7. wendyb1063

    Luna

I wasn't too excited about this one, but ordered this in a decant circle because I ordered all the other Moths and didn't want this one to feel left out. And I know from experience that sometimes the scents that don't thrill by the list of notes end up being wins. On me it is fruity, sweet; mostly pear and lime. I get a hint of carnation and a little tea blast initially, but now after about 15 minutes it is mostly a nice sweet fruity light green scent. Its fruitiness reminds me a bit of Autumn Moon of the Mirror Stand. Actually, I am really liking this one!!!! I will wear a few more times, but it might be bottle worthy!!!
  8. wendyb1063

    How Doth the Little Crocodile

This is nice! It smells like a dusty sweet cocoa to me. I don't get much mint at all, and it is a little foody but not over the top. The cedar is fairly restrained, although if I think about pencil shavings, I can smell them in this. I'm glad I got to try this one.
  9. On me, Sed Non Satiata smells a LOT like Devil's Night 09.
  10. wendyb1063

    Creamy Spicy Florals, a/k/a Florientals

Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions! I agree that Alice falls into this category too, and it is one that I like a lot. Three Brides, I cannot believe I forgot about that one! There are a lot of recommended ones that I have tried and love but didn't think of in this category, but will have to try again now. Et Lux Fuit, Haloes, Queen Alice, The Little Wooden Doll, Kubla Khan, Inez, Two Five Seven, Lyonnesse, Echo, and Antique Lace. And there a number on my current wish list that were recommended: Chrysanthemum Moon, L'Estate, Zarita, Lamia, Lady Lilith. Red Lantern was too carmel-ly when I tried it the first time, but perhaps I should give it another go. I'm especially excited to learn of some that someone have missed my radar screen until now! Bathsheba is one I definitely need to try! Strangler Fig, Pannychis, Victoria, and so many more! Thanks so much for all of the suggestions!
  11. wendyb1063

    Yellow Jessamine Honey

I agree, this is for jasmine lovers. It reminds me a lot of Lush's Flying Fox.
  12. wendyb1063

    Hemlock Honey

Thankfully I didn't get a mice-like or musty smell form this. At first application it was a pleasant, herbal-tinged O. Now after about half an hour it smells nearly identical to O on me, maybe a little "cleaner" or fresher than O. Nice!
  13. Yellow Jessamine honey on me is a dead ringer for Lush's Flying Fox.
  14. wendyb1063

    The Traveller

This one was not a hit. My husband tried it on, and he said it smelled exactly like the herbicide 2-4-D. To me it smelled like mildew. I could perhaps smell a little leather, but that was it. I won't be wearing this one, I'm afraid!
  15. wendyb1063

    Staged Moon Landing

I got a decant of this from Glasspillars's decant circle (along with some pop rocks, how appropriate!). I ordered this one mostly for its name, as one of my earliest childhood memories was this event (the moon landing). This is a very interesting blend. I definitely can appreciate the "inhaled Dr. Pepper" comparison! And the dusty museum and ice cream bar! What great analogies! My first thoughts were that it reminded me a bit of Ultraviolet. My husband thought it smelled like baby powder. It's slightly sweet, and quite powdery and smooth on me. I do like it, but am not sure I would wear it much, sadly, as it is giving me a slight headache. I will try again when it is a better time of the month.
  16. wendyb1063

    Vixen

It pays to go through those frimps that you THINK you have tested but cannot remember for sure. You don't want to miss something really good! I've vowed to go through them all again and really pay attention this time! So Vixen was up today. It might be my early morning nose, but Vixen smells a lot like a slightly less sweet, more patchouli-ey version of Snake Oil, which I love! So I am really enjoying Vixen, too!
  17. wendyb1063

    Athens

Initially, after first applying to my arm, it smelled like honey and ... citrus! With maybe something warm and rich and plant based... olive oil? This was before I read what the notes were supposed to be (it was a kind frimp from the lab). I honestly get no wine from this. After a little while it is warm and dusty and calming. I didn't think I would like this initially, but it is growing on me.
  18. wendyb1063

    Robin Goodfellow

Initially, this smelled very fresh, almost aquatic, and quite masculine, like something my Dad would wear. I added it to the pile of imps that I delegate to my husband. Now it is smelling very clean, like some kind of deodorant soap (Safeguard?), but in a nice way. I may have to sneak it back for myself! I can imagine wearing it on a hot summer day, just after a shower, after working all day outside.
  19. wendyb1063

    País de la Canela

This was a generous frimp from the lab (thanks!!!!!). My first impression was pine, and a dusty, incense-like scent. I didn't realize initially that there was cinnamon in it. My husband thought it smelled slightly aquatic at first, although I'm not really getting that. It reminds me just a little of Golden Priapus. I definitely understand the Christmas potpourri comparisons. But in a good way! I like this. Not sure I need a bottle, but will definitely use my imp again!
  20. wendyb1063

    Candy Phoenix

Oh, this is nicer than I expected! It does smell quite a bit to me like SweeTarts? Smarties (the American ones, not the chocolate ones), at least at first. Now it smells very fruity... mangoes? A little bit tart. Refreshing and sweet! I think this will be very nice to wear on a very hot day.
  21. wendyb1063

    Black Lace

I thought I was losing my mind when I opened my bottle of the resurrected version today and thought it smelled like... Lamb's Wool! Thank you, AmandaKay, for convincing me I am not crazy. I have a decant of an older version of Black Lace that I adore. The resurrected version is nice, but very different. It's got a little fruitiness to it, which is nice, but not what I expected. I do get some tobacco, almost a cherry tobacco. I am liking it more and more the longer I wear it. We'll see how it ages!
  22. wendyb1063

    Tobacco Flower?

Yes, at least the flowering tobacco that I grow is in the genus Nicotiana , and it smells fabulous. I need to find some Smoky Moon!
  23. wendyb1063

    #20 Love Oil

I received this as a frimp from the lab (thanks!!!), and was excited to try it. On me, I smell mainly roses, with a hint of cloves/carnation? I usually like all of these components, and this is a nice scent, but not something that I will be slathering myself with on a regular basis. Note added later: it reminds me a little of Black Phoenix, which I really like. I don't get any almond from #20 Love Oil, though, which I usually do with Black Phoenix. Still on the fence with this one.
  24. wendyb1063

    El Dia de los Reyes

My latest BPAL convert: my 4-year old nephew, thanks to El Dia de los Reys. He smelled me wearing this, and was instantly in love. He asked me every five minutes for a sniff. Then I put some on him, and he could not stop smelling his wrist. He says he is not going to wash that wrist, ever! I think my decant is going to end up in his Christmas stocking.
