In the imp, I'm getting this berry muffinish sort of scent like I did with Hecate, which I'm going to bet is the almond. On my skin, I get almonds, more of a muffinish scent, minus the berries, and with some vanilla thrown in, with another scent that I can't quite pin at this point. A few hours later I get what must be the frankincense (as I have no clue whatsoever what heliotrope smells like), as there's a slighter spicier undertone now. This is predominantly vanilla and almond on me, with spices showing up late in the game. A nice scent, but, again, O and La Petit Mort make better scents along this vein for me to have bottles of. This'll be nice as an imp, but nothing more.

In the imp, I get a scent that's almost like the cake base in Cake Smash, only more chocolately and really, really rich. On my skin, the chocolate fades a bit, and I get a similar nommy spice to what was in Cake Smash. Seriously, this is like Cake Smash lite on me. Which is a bit odd. But still nommy. And with a bit of coffee and chocolate thrown in. And again with the wanting to eat my wrists, and lingering, though a bit faint towards the end. This is going to be a bottle scent, but not a high priority one, as I have Cake Smash to go through first. Think like a GC backup of a LE scent.

In the imp, I get a vague mix of florals, almost like Epitaph, and maaaybe a hint of tangerine in there somewhere. On my skin, it's, again, the same vague sort of mix of florals, nothing standout. This is pretty much Epitaph all over again. 's a nice scent, but not anything I'm going to get a bottle of. Though, going to age this a bit, and see how it turns out.

In the imp, I get this dark, red scent (which makes sense, given that the oil's a reddish color); I can't necessarily pick out any notes, but I think I'm getting some of the fruit. Wet on my skin, I think I'm getting the vanilla and the black cherry? I can't really tell at this stage, but it smells quite nice... No, it's vanilla and strawberry, with the black cherry in the background. This turns into a fruit blend on me; a cherry-vanilla-strawberryish sort of smell. I'm not getting the heliotrope, red musk, or amber so much. It's a nice scent, but I think I'll be staying with just an imp of this.

Got this in an imp pack in a recent order, eager to try it out. In the imp, this smells like honey and vanilla and amber, oh wow, that's really good. It's the same on my skin; sweet and just absolutely lovely. I think this is going to be a bottle, just even wet in the first minute, here. An hour later, and it's still going strong and lovely. O(hhh yeah.) This is definitely going to be a bottle.

And now, for something completely different! In my decant, I get a soapy scent with what I assume is the aftershave. Very... odd. Not what I was expecting. On my skin, I get more of the soapy scent at first, though the aftershave seems to be blooming. Not getting any of the cat or brimstone just yet. But now, about fifteen minutes later, I'm getting what might be cat fur? I'm not sure exactly what the scent is, but I'm going to say it's cat fur. ...And now it's a half hour later and it's utterly gone on me, and I applied fairly generously. Sigh. Glad I decanted this rather than buying a $25 bottle. To the swaps.

In the bottle, this is Y HELO THAR CHERRY COUGH SYRUP. On my skin, the cough syrup note goes away, and it smells like cherry fruit snacks. I'm not getting any booze, just the cherry fruit snackish scent, which is kinda... eh. Yeah, this seems to be oscillating between cherry fruit snacks and cherry cough syrup for me. I'm going to leave it on through dinner, see if it gets any better, but I'm thinking this is going to be going to the swaps. This is going to the swaps, sadly. Over dinner it went cherry cough drops; no matter what, it smells on me more like artificial cherry flavoring than it does cherry. Will probably be far more loved by someone else.

I'm thinking I'm going to be wearing Lambs-Wool for Thanksgiving.

In the bottle, I get this lovely baking spices scent with an undertone of apple, like an apple pie. Can't wait to get it on me, cause like Cake Smash yesterday, is making me drool. On my skin, the spices are kinda predominating, but with a wonderful apple undertone. Oh god, this is so good; to repeat, I'm smelling like a really good apple pie with this on. And it stays that way, too; it faded a bit soon on me, but that's probably cause I was out walking in the rain and all. A definite keeper, and going to be in heavy rotation probably until December or so.

In the decant vial, I'm getting VETIVER, which is not entirely promising. Wet on my skin, so far, the vetiver is predominant, with a hint of doctor's office in the background? Not a good sign... EDIT: Yeah. I'm getting mostly vetiver with maaaybe a hint of leather? Not working, sadly. After I've washed it off I've got what's maybe an afterscent, or how it would've turned out. It smells predominantly like a leather jacket, with a tinge of metal, maybe from the buttons. A niceish scent, but, again, vetiver is note of doom and death on me, and I think I could probably get this from other scents, or just from wearing a leather jacket.

This smells... I'm not sure. I think I get a kick of herbs and incense smelling it in the bottle. And with a light application, it's the same on my skin. ...And I think it's stinging. The skin on my wrists. That's... not a good sign. EDIT: OW OW F***ITY OW. Yeah. This girl's going bye-bye. Sorry, Mircalla, but you were too intense for me.

On my first sniff of this I get... citrus and banana. I'm trying to figure out where the banana's coming from, and it makes me edgy. Going to apply fairly lightly, methinks. On my skin, I get really tangy tangerine, with a creamy undertone. Like a creamsicle. Hm. I like this. And there's just a little tang of ocean, too... And it stays that way. Fades a bit fast, but, then again, I put it on pretty light. Reapplying a bit heavier and I'm getting the same flavor, which is good; I think this one's a keeper.

Just got my 5mL of this in the mail today. And on opening it, oh god, does this smell good. Red velvet cake + gingerbread spices + sweet cream cheese frosting. I'm drooling just smelling it. Once on my skin, the gingerbread spices amp a bit more, but it smells ohmygod gorgeous. I may have to consider a backup bottle of this. And an hour later it's still staying strong, though the cake and frosting is starting to fight for dominance with the Snake Oil/Dorian/Doc Constantine combo. Lasts about three hours total. Definitely my favorite BPAL scent I've tried, ever. Happy birthday, Lilith! Your mom makes really, really good scents that make me want to eat my wrists. ^^

The vetiver in this makes me nervous, before I'm even opening it. It plays nice with my skin so long as there's things to balance it (or at least it was the case in Marquise), so let's hope it plays nice with the rest of the blend. Sniffing it, I get that vetiver note of DOOM. On my skin, so far, it smells like smoke and vetiver. I'm going to give this one time to dry down, but thus far, I do not have high hopes, except for that bit of sweetness I'm smelling trying to get through... EDIT: Yeah, the sweetness appears to be dominating here, which, frankly, is a very good thing. I'm thinking it's the amber and carnation fighting for dominance with the undertone of scorched musk and smoky vetiver, which is actually a really neat scent. Like with Hecate, I think I'm going to be testing this out a bit more, but first instinct says no bottle here.

Got this as a frimp in a recent order, trying it out today. My first impression upon sniffing it in the bottle is very medicinal, and isn't giving me high hopes for what it'll turn out like on my skin... On my skin, I think I'm getting the nutmeg, along with a background of what might be the sassafrass, which smells like... rootbeer. EDIT: Yeah, this is giving me a headache and, again, smells like a doctor's office. I am getting a sense that spices hate my skin, especially since anything with spices in it (Voodoo, Blood Kiss, Van Van, and now this) seem to give my skin the same reaction. Washing it off, and to the swaps with it!

Hm. I could use positive personal power atm, and purification sounds good. Let's give it a try (yay frimpage)! In the frimp, this smells like either Blood Kiss or Voodoo, not sure which, which makes me antsy. And it's the same on my skin wet, too, at first; but now, it's starting to dry down, and I'm getting what's either patchouli or some kind of spice, with a faint hint of green. EDIT: And then it goes to doctor's waiting room, like with Blood Kiss. Augh. I think it's pretty clear that the Voodoos are not working on me. Though, my heart is feeling lighter than it has in quite some time.

Got this as a frimp in my eBay winnings, and now that Stardust '05 and Hurricane have failed on me, it's time to try this girl out. In the frimp, she smells like almond with a deeper, darker note, and... berries? Hm. Same kind of thing on my skin. Like a dark berry muffin. Of darkness. She's constant throughout; a tasty dark berry muffin of darkness (which is either the musk or the myrrh). Not really sure if I like it or not, will be testing it out a bit more, methinks, but first instinct says no more than an imp, here.

Got this as a frimp in a recent lab order, giving it a try now that Stardust didn't work the greatest on me. In the imp, this is smelling like my first impression of Voodoo - deep, woodsy. Uh-oh. And it's smelling like that on my skin, too. Something tells me that vetivert may not be working so well on me... Augh. It smells almost exactly like Voodoo, which means that the vetivert's pretty much dominating here. Sadface. Wanted this to work so badly. To the swaps with you!

2005 Blend Just got this in the mail today, aged four years in the Lab in a cobalt bottle. In the bottle, I get the scent of champagne and... my dad's cologne? No, seriously, whatever is in this is common in the stuff my dad wears when he (very rarely) wears his cologne. I get my dad's cologne on my skin, with a sweet edge to it. Not quite sure how to feel about this. EDIT: Yep, this is my dad's cologne, and about twoish hours after I've applied, it's gone, except for a vague, light scent that smells like I do after I've hugged my dad while he's wearing his cologne. It's a nice scent and all, it's just not something I want to smell on my skin. Not quite sure what's causing this, as most of these other scents have showed up in stuff I've worn previously, but I'm thinking it might be the tobacco flower. So, going to dab a bit of this on a stuffed penguin I have from the parents for some comfort, and then I think this is going to the swaps.

Thanks for the help. It's mostly Halloween scents with an imp pack, and I'm just worried I accidentally came across something that got back ordered or something. My order from a week before (9/10)'s already been harvested, so I guess it's the waiting game at this point.

I've got a weird thing going on with my order placed on 9/17. I cancelled the order I placed on 9/14, which was identical, because I realized I had put down incorrect billing information, did a reorder and corrected the info on 9/17. Now, from my experience to this point (aka one recent order and one back in Marchish that I don't even remember the timeframe for), order harvested (aka shipped on CC Now) only takes about four days or so. So, it's the 22nd now, and I'm still awaiting a harvest on it. I figure there's a slightly longer time at the moment for harvesting orders, that's all. So I go into my bank account this morning, and the charge for that order is not on the account anymore (and usually that only happens on the day that it's harvested, and doesn't appear until the next day or so, and, at this point, it's listed as still awaiting shipment in CC Now). Is this normal, or am I just being insanely paranoid?

In the imp, I get the sweetness and the tang of Blood mixed with a sharper woody scent that I recognize from Voodoo; maybe it's clove and/or patchouli? Wet on my skin, I think I"m really amping the clove at first application, but it seems a few second later to be settling down in to a sweeter scent with a clove undertone. EDIT: I think I might have applied it in different amounts on my wrists, cause one smells like cherry-vanilla, and the other smells like that with a bit more of a spicy undertone. It's been about two hours since I put it on, and it's starting to fade. I think I'm going to need to test this a few more times before figuring out whether or not I want a bottle. EDIT EDIT: Just reapplied, did double what I did before. The clove's a lot more prominent now, with the cherry-vanilla sweetness just below the surface. EDIT EDIT EDIT: I think I'm going to be staying with just an imp of this. There's too much guesstimating I'd have to do to get my ideal scent from this; too little, and it's just barely cherry-vanilla-spicy, too much, and the clove dominates and makes it smell like a doctor's waiting room. (Don't ask) EDIT ^ 4TH: Yeah, my skin chemistry is amping the clove way too much on this, on later tests, and I now smell like a doctor's waiting room. This is going to the swaps.

Got this as a frimp in my last order, and seeing as Voodoo didn't work out earlier today, going to try this instead. In the imp, I get a distinct floral scent, really beautiful, kind of powderish. Wet on my skin, I get florals a bit more, with a distant hint of a mistish/powderish sort of scent. Kind of reminiscent of Marquise for me, at this stage. EDIT: Dries down to a mix of florals (I think I get a bit more of the lilies on this) and a misty sort of scent in the background. It's a nice scent, but I don't think I'm going to need any more than the imp I already have.

Got this as a frimp, testing it out today. In the bottle, I get this deep, woodsy, spicy smell, with a faint edge of sweetness. It's the same on my skin applied wet, too, and I'm really not sure what to think of it at this point, especially as I applied it lightly. EDIT: And apparently this went really wonky on me, as twenty minutes later, it's faded to this baby powderish sort of scent with a tinge of spices. EDIT EDIT: And now it's a spicy scent. I don't think this is going to be for me, sadly. To the swaps!

Got this as a frimp in the order that got here yesterday, trying it out today. In the bottle, I get a scent like a rainy night, aquatic, really, with a bit of florals in the background. Wet on my skin, I get that rainy night with this tang that I think must be ozone? 'm not really sure, this is my first real test with ozone-ish scents. EDIT: It lasted really long (put it on around nine in the morning, lasted till sometime just before three in the afternoon), and stayed as an aquatic sort of note, with the burntish tang of ozone and just barely a touch of florals, a cool, clean scent. This is going to be a bottle, methinks.
