In the imp, I'm getting vetiver, patchouli, and cedarwood. ...Yeah, light applicaiton, I'm thinking. Pretty much the same on my skin, very MASCULINE.
-
I'm definitely getting a mineral note in this, and it makes me uneasy. Going to apply this light. On my skin, it's that same stoney mineraly metal note that's a bit powdery. We'll see how this goes. Very true stone/metal scent, not really for me, though.

Not sure what to think of this in the imp. I think I'm getting the musk aspects or citrus, maybe the ginger? It's really faint. On my skin, I'm getting light citrus and ginger. We'll see how this goes. Faint on my skin and fades quick.

Beanman & Beanwoman Prepare to Attack the Vagina

[insert childish giggling about the scent name here] In the decant, I'm definitely getting the coconut milk and orange blossom, which makes me uneasy. Light application on this one, too. On my skin, it's primarily coconut, which is equalling suntan lotion on skin. Eugh. I don't think this one is going to be sticking long. Oh god. Have to get this off, now. The coconut and orange blossom are going all kinds of wrong on my skin. For those of you who do not do well with coconut, or for whom it amps, I'd suggest staying clear of this one. -
Honestly, this is the scent I'm wanting to work the most, because hey, tentacle sex! In the decant, this is definitely an aquatic scent, a vague cousin to Lilith v. the Giant Crab. On my skin, this is more of an aquatic floral type scent. We'll see how this turns out. Fades quickly, and I'm getting sharper florals and the ambergirs in it, sadly.

Pretty straight up wine in the decant, can't wait to see how this turns out. On my skin, it's pretty straight up wine with chocolate and cherry and coffee undernotes and plum. Oooh, I'm liking this. This passes the round one test, and with Milk Chocolate, Cardamom, Rum, Ginger, and Coconut on the other wrist, it's amazing. Update with full skin test later. It's just as beautiful standing on it's own, though I may end up pairing this with MCCRGC at times. Definitely getting a bottle.

Milk Chocolate, Coconut, Cardamom, Rum, and Ginger Truffle
Venneh replied to TheIceMaiden's topic in Lupercalia
In the decant, I'm getting spicy chocolate, it's making it edgy. Light application. On my skin, it's pretty much rum and ginger and cardamom with chocolate underneath. Keeping an eye on this, as I don't know what cardamom might do to my skin (if it's like Enraged Groundhog Musk, my skin may end up breaking out). Doesn't make my skin break out, not quite sure what to think of it as a scent, so it's going onto a round two test. Also, with Zadok Allen Vineyard on the other wrist, it's a pretty neat scent. Update with full skin test later. Tried a full skin test again today, and it's a wonderful spicy, different chocolate scent. Definitely going in my next order. -
The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

In the imp, I think I'm getting the cinnamon bark and the almond; almost no fruit, sadly. On my skin, the bark disapears happily, but I'm getting almond and some kind of darker fruit, not entirely sure there. We'll see how this turns out. Ends up being mostly dark fruit, not really my style. -
I'm getting all the notes in the imp, and the acai berry is very reminiscent of Australian Copperhead, but the poppies and the honey add some wonderful underlying notes. On my skin, the poppies and acai berry blend wonderfully, and the honey smoothes everything out. Oh, I like this.

In the imp, I'm getting an salty aquatic note, very similar to the note I get in Egle, minus the florals. On my skin, it's pretty much the same, except there's a deeper green and herbal note coming out too that's making it a bit more masculine. ...And then the wood comes out. In the end, this turns into a green woody herbal scent, completely removing itself from its watery roots. Pass.

'08 Blend: In the decant, this smells like sweet red musk with booze underlying it. On my skin, this is really sweet, musky, and boozy. Ohhh my... If this continues to be this awesome, I may need to buy one bottle of the 2010 to use, and one to cellar as a backup. Except that there's a weirder sharper note, which might be the red musk, that seems to pop out and makes my nose curl a bit, though now that's appearing to go away after a half hour or so. I'm going to test this against my decant of the '10 blend when it arrives, see how it turns out. Till then, I'm on the fence.

In the imp, this is a strong, dark, almost resinous floral. There are two things that worry me with this blend - the lavender fourege, cause lavender can take a blend to absolutely nothing on me, and the tobacco flower, which somehow turns into my father's cologne. On my skin, the tobacco flower appears to be coming forward along with the lavender, which appears to be taking things into a slowly fading dad's cologne. Hrm. Yep, gone in less than four minutes. Damn lavender.

Got a partial imp of this from sunshinedaisybliss as a BPALentine; thanks so much again! In the imp, I'm getting dark brown sugar and berries, and oh god this smells good. It's the same on my skin, and like XCDL13, barring any sudden painful turns, this may be DISOing. This ends up being a dark brown sugar and fruit scent, and just absolutely wonderful.

Got a partial imp of this from sunshinedaisybliss as a BPALentine; thanks so much again! In the imp, this smells like vanilla amped up to 11, with a bit of booze. Can't wait to see how this is... It's a beautiful boozy vanilla on me, and barring any sudden turns, I may be actively seeking this out... And it. Is. Amazing. It appears that the BPALicorns are the ones that work the best on me. Gonna hoard what I have of this, cause it's amazing.

In the imp, I'm getting green tea and lemon/neroli. Hrm. We'll see what this does, but I don't have high hopes. On my skin, it's pretty much straight up lemon verbena. Yeah, not for me.
-
Hoooly shit. In the imp, this smells like this mint-type stuff you always run into at the dentist's office. Cleared out my sinuses all well and good, let me tell you. Small, small skin test, cause this scares me. On my skin, it's the same, and quickly goes to latex. ...Nice. Yeah, this one's not a keeper, for sure.
-
In the imp, this is ROSEMARY!!! Like Aperotos Eros, light application. Turns into orange blossom and rose on my skin, happily, but thus far, it's not going to be anything much. And it goes straight to soapy rose. Ehh.
-
Unloving love: benzoin, Indian musk, massoia bark, myrrh, ambrette seed, galbanum, bergamot, and fir. In the imp, I'm getting Indian musk, bark, and myrrh, very MANLY. Going for a light application on this one, methinks. On my skin, it's pretty much the same, but something's going wonky. We'll see how this turns out.
-
In the bottle, this smells like vanilla and honey musk; actually quite snuggly and beautiful. It's pretty much the same on my skin. I'm really liking this.
-
Got this as a decant from saralaughs as a BPALentine; thanks so much! In the decant, this smells similar to a blend between Now Winter Nights Enlarge and Mircalla; sweet and dark, probably getting the red musk, ambergris, and clove. On my skin, it's red musk and I think ambergris or vanilla; not sure there. This ends up being pretty nondescript red musk on me plus a lighter note that takes it to nothing quickly. Well, it was worth a try, and think again!
-
I got this as a tester from a BPALentine; thanks again so much! In the vial, this smells sweet and dusty with a little bit of bite in it. On my skin, it's sweet, herbal cologne. ..Yeah. Not having good feelings about this one. Ends up being a sweet leather herbal cologne. Not for me.
-
Red rose, oud, plum, bergamot, and red sandalwood. In the imp, I'm getting rose and plum and citrus. This could be really, really interesting. On my skin, it's that same combo. Not entirely sure how this'll work out, but we'll see. ...And then comes the oud, whacking me over the head, and drowning out everything else. Sadly, this isn't going to quite work.
-
Got this as a BPALentine from fisharescary; thanks again! In the decant, this smells amazing; golden and bright and wonderful. On my skin, thus far, it's that same golden brightness and a far more... raunchier tone, shall we say. Mmmm. I'm liking it so far, but I think I'm going to need a full skin test to determine if I like it enough to seek a bottle. Ends up fading really quickly, sadly, so I don't think I'll be seeking out more of this, but I'll be keeping the imp.

The Malignant Dreams of Cthulhu in Love

Just got a decant of this; in the vial, I'm getting chocolate and... incense? That's what I want to say it is. On my skin, this is a salty chocolate. We'll see what the rest of this does. I'm liking it so far, but I think I'm going to need a full skin test to determine if I like it enough to seek a bottle. (Also, four hours in, and it's still going strong. oO) -
Just got a decant of this. In the vial, this smells like leather and a hint of grass for whatever reason, which might be the basalms. On my skin, the basalms are woody and green and taking precedence, to the point that I can't smell the leather or the vanilla. Whether or not the leather and vanilla assert themselves is probably going to determine whether or not this stays. This actually lasted barely fifteen minutes, cause the basalms were so strong that it was borderline making me gag; had to wash it off.
