In the bottle and wet on my skin, Luna reminds me a lot of the smell of almond jelly. A very sweet scent. Not exactly a scent that I would wear, or so I thought. Once it begins to dry down, the sweetness tones down and beautiful florals come through. Pale, delicate florals. Very very beautiful. I did not to expect to like it this much. It's too bad it is discontinued. I'm so glad I was able to find it on ebay.

I definitely got a sour smell when I first sniffed this one. On my skin I smelled the roses and amber. It dried to a soft powdery rose. I loved that it didn't have too much of a sweetness to it. Very feminine, but not too girly for me. I can see this becoming a bottle for my personal collection

At first whiff from the vial, it was sharp, smelling just like pure alcohol. I let my nose take it in for while and I got a peppery scent coming through. On my skin, it evolved right into sassafras. After a while the sweetness began to die out and it turned into something a little too reminiscent of Indian food on me. I love Indian food but I would really prefer not to have people think that I just ate at an indian restaurant when I really didn't. Too bad. I was really liking the sassafras.

Nomally I hate sugary sweet smells and I was afraid that Dorian would be one of those. It wasn't first on my list of oils to buy but after reading about all the hype and then seeing it appear up on eBay, my curiosity got the best of me and I gave in. When I received it in the mail I opened the bottle and took a whiff. I smelled the sweet sugary vanilla tea, expecting it to become the nauseating, headache-inducing smell that all sweet scents tend to morph into when I smell them. But no, the musks and the clean crispness of what is probably the lemon everyone is talking about stop the sweetness from turning on me and it evolves into the sexiest, most addicting scent. I can see why Dorian is a unisex scent. This dark sensual musky scent would work wonders on either gender. Masculine smells are wonderful but many times I only would like to smell them on a man. However, while Dorian is a scent I would LOVE to smell on my boyfriend (I would jump him even more, and that's saying a lot because I'm already all over him all the time!!), it is a masculine smell I also want all over me. To me, this scent is the embodiment of an insatiable sexual appetite. This is now my absolute favorite and I just can't get enough of Dorian.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
MellowCello replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
I must confess I love Love too It's really feminine but not too girly. It's a warm pretty smell on me. I'm looking for a BPAL that resembles that scent. I admit I am also looking for an oil that resembles Old Spice. Some people mentioned that Dracul and Mr. Jacquel smell like Old Spice. Those are next on my list for imps. Anyone have any more suggestions? -
At first whiff from the vial Catherine struck me as a citrus-menthol scent. On my skin the smell changed into something very very herbal. but as it began to dry down it began to smell incensy, a type of incensey smell that brought me back to some fond memories. I just had to test it again because oils often change their minds about how they want to smell on me after i first test them. Everything was exactly the same except that now I was able to pick out just a hint of rose, not too much. It still smelled of that wonderful incense. I must say that i find this scent very relaxing and ultimately very pleasant. I'm glad someone was kind enough to send this to me. I might find myself buying a bottle of this when I have some extra money to spend.

Monstrous, indeed. Sinister sweetness, sharp, dark spicy/resiny blend. I pick up the myrrh and patchouli mostly.

Starts off as a cold masculine scent but warms up a bit. A chilly richness. I definitely smell a sweet pine with cedar and musk. I find this scent comforting.

In the bottle it smelled like sweet medicine, but there was something about it that was making me feel sick. And that something is something that I've smelled before and something I used to smell a lot. I can't put my finger on it. I guess "enigma" is right! i'm still developing my sense of smell hehe. Regardless of how an oil smells in the bottle, I'll give it a shot on my skin since BPALs are known to morph much to peoples' surprise. But for Pluto, it was even worse on my skin so I had to wash it off right away.

When I first opened the bottle, the scent instantly reminded me of some pink medicince I had to take when I was little, only a more bitter version of it. On my skin, the peony starts to come out. More soapy-herbal? My nose isn't seasoned enough to pick out specific notes yet. At first it struck me as a strange scent but its develops into something oddly pleasant. I don't hate it and I don't love it, but sadly I don't like it enough. It's up for auction.

This scent came in an imp lot I won in an eBay auction. I didn't read the reviews before sniffing it so I had no expectations of what it would smell like. In the vial, it was very astringent and kinda weird smelling. Then I tested it on my skin and now I love it! It smells like Irish Spring, but a more sopisticated version. I love the Irish Spring scent! most probably because it brings back childhood memories.

Oh my goodness! This scent is amazing! At first whiff from the vial, it was insanely fruity with a little spice. Most probably the currants and the sake, which didn't grab me too much. Wet on me, it was still very fruity, cherry blossom slipping into the mix now. In the drydown, the cherry blossom came out so beautifully along with some tartness. I don't know where the tartness comes from but I'm glad it's there and taking the fruitiness down a couple notches. I love it!

In the vial: A lot of grapefruit and champagne. A sharp, citrusy smell with a lingering sweetness. Not as cold a scent as I expected from the description Wet: This is absolutely as cold as shards of glass! Very refreshing! The mint is cooling on the skin and makes it's way to the front. However, it does not overpower the grapefruit and sweetness of the champagne. I detect some florals slightly coming through now. Dry:More aquatic floral. A tinge of mint and still with the sweetness. Nice An hour later: The mint is all gone! The coldness I was loving has disappeared. The scent has ultimately turned into a sweet floral smell, but a deep, sad kind of floral. It's still very pleasant despite the loss of the mint. I like Shattered but maybe not enough to get a 5mL. Yeah but who knows? It still has a bit of potential to grow on me.

Wow, my first review on the forum for my very first BPAL! My nose is still a novice, but here goes... In the bottle: a fresh cut rose but very, very, VERY green! The scent shot straight to my head. Maybe too much green for me. Wet on my skin: Not SO green, but still green. The rose scent came through a lot more, a very sweet rose smell. Still wasn't sure if I would like it Drydown: I am loving how it's working with my skin chemistry! The sweetness of the rose became more subdued and the sharpness of the green toned down but remained just enough to keep it smelling young and fresh! Such a beautiful balance! Rose Red had me worried at first, but now I love it! It's very interesting how scents can transform on your skin.
