  1. In the bottle this reminds me a bit of a grown-up and red rose version of Snow White.

On my skin I get the same creamy coconut from Dia, it's blended beautifully with the fresh red rose (it doesn't have that bite or sharpness rose scents can have for me sometimes), the orris also blends well with the rose to making a gorgeous and sophisticated scent. I get some sweetness and the crystalline musk reminds me of the musk in The Girl. :wub2: Good throw, but didn't as long as I'd hoped.

You should definitely try this if you like rose scents!

  2. Initially this reminds me a little of The Harp Cnoc I'Chosgair but instead of tiare, it's tuberose.

I'm getting a soft, creamy tuberose (and it's really beautiful, not the cloying tuberose I'm used to smelling). It's very pretty, I actually like the throw it gives more than sniffing it up close on my skin where I get a slightly bitter thing happening, I don't get any bitterness in the throw.

Later on this gets more complex, and at times it seems I get a lot of vanilla/sandalwood, other times it's the amber that amps (this amber is almost sparkly on me), and some sniffs it's pure creamy tuberose.

I'm glad I got two bottles of this!

Note: I tried layering this with Narkissos like recommended, but it didn't work for me on me this way, Narkissos overpowered Echos!

  3. So excited! I must admit that this is my first bpal bath oil I'm actually using in the bath, so I don't have others to compare to.

It's Snake Oil! I put about a cap's worth in my bath and settled into the warm Snake Oil-infused water.. mmm...could life get any better than this? Luxurious, decadent, sexy, orgasmic....what else can I say? Is there anyway to petition for this one to be permanent? ;)

The only thing I wished it would be a little stronger (I added a little more to keep my bath scented and used it as an after-bath moisutrizer). After my bath, the scent was gone after about an hour on my skin, which could be good if you plan to apply another scent. It could be that I'm used to stronger-scented bath products. I found it very moisturizing but not greasy, my skin absorbed it really well (I have normal/dry skin).

I will go through this pretty quickly and will be needing at least a couple more bottles! :wub2:

  4. I was so excited to try this one because I love bread notes. Initially this is really delicious bread and butter, it reminds me a bit of the the cake in Huesos de Santo. :yum:

Unfortunately within a couple of minutes on my skin it starts turning soapy, five minutes later it's all soap! I'm so sad about this, I have no idea why it would turn soapy, perhaps the tea? I will try this again, I'm just not ready to give on it because I love the way it smells before it turns on me. :cry2:

ETA: decided to retry it today and this time I almost got no soap and much more of the delicious bread note (and the tea note in Dorian but without the lemon) :joy: ! I wonder if it was something hormonal that made it get soapy on me the first time I tried it?

  5. This is a really delicious and refreshing cranberry and red currant scent, after it awhile the mint and tobacco come out a little, but it's still very well blended.

I just wish it would last a bit longer on the skin and retain that initial cranberry and red currant scent a little more. I think this will be great for the warmer months.

  6. I just received my back-up Womb Furie bottle from the lab, and decided to sniff it before putting it away, to my surprise it's whoa on the O! I took out the other bottle to compare (which I ordered from when it was released) and it's definitely more Snake Oil in that one. I'm not complaining at all because I LOVE O and Snake Oil, I'm just happily surprised with this batch variation.

  7. This version is definitely very different from the 2005 one, which is one of my favorite florals and I multiple bottles of. I'm not getting any creaminess here, it's a blend of strong florals, well blended, possibly a mix of gardenia, lilies, magnolia and skin musk. One of the flowers in it is too heavy for me (I think gardenia). :( .. after a couple hours on my skin, this has turned into generic dept. store floral perfume.

  8. In the bottle I get sandalwood, slightly medicinal amber, and tiare. The scent strongly reminds me of this Hawaiian Tiare hair stuff I used to regularly use.

On my skin it turns into a creamy, ambery/sandalwood tiare scent, I get very little vanilla from it I think it adds a little creaminess. I'm not getting any cardamom...wow, I'm really amping the tiare.

I went through a tiare phase a couple years ago and have recently noticed it can be a little to heavy a flower for me. This smells very beachy and tropical because of the tiare, I think this is will be a nice spring/summer floral blend if you like tiare.

I'm a little disappointed this turned into a mostly tiare scent on me, I definitely won't be needing the back-up bottle I have coming I may not end up not keeping this one either, I'm starting to get a headache from it.

ETA: I started getting a little more vanilla and amber the longer I wore it, but still a lot tiare.

  9. I was just recommending that Love Potions scent to someone! I agree, Sea of Glass, maybe layered with Squirting Cucumber?

    Here's some others:

The Black Swan Water lily, peony, seaweed absolute, lotus, Spanish moss, violet leaf, and marine accord

Danube Rhododendron and bellflower petals swirl through deep, cool, dark aquatic notes.

The Gibbous Moon Moonflower, Madonna lily, orris, white ginger, cucumber, hyacinth, and Irish moss

  10. In the bottle it's dark, earthy fruits. On my skin, I'm getting smokey (tobacco) spicy apples, plum and vetiver. It captures the scent of a Black Widow Circus perfectly! As it dries the dark smokiness and earthiness start to fade and fruit come out more, it settles into a delicious spicy plum/apple and vetiver scent and it's not sweet but just a little tart. I also detect a teeny bit of balsam and mint in there.. really nice. Not much throw but it lasts.

  11. Very interesting, this reminds me strongly of the background scent in Nosferatu, not as "dark" though. It's a very well blended green/herbal and I'm also getting a little dirt.

  12. I really like this one, definitely my favorite from the Ode to Mars, a very comforting, sexy and masculine scent. It's a man sitting in his leather couch, next to his bookcase, smoking tobacco and drinking cognac..

  13. Really nice sweet citrus and rose, almost candy sweet on my skin. This reminds me of the rose in Blood Rose, very grown-up but with the sweet tartness from the lychee it really works. It's not too complex, but you like rose scents I recommend you try this one, I think it will be great in the warmer months.

  14. I tried the Olive Leaf line awhile ago, and I vaguely remember the scent. I would recommend Banded Sea Snake, I personally didn't find the Snake Oil to be too strong (which I would have preferred), it's really great one, and I find it very comforting too. Another one that comes to mind is Tabella, it has olive blossom (not leaf) but it's another great scent that is a little similar to Olive Leaf but not as herbal.

  15. On my skin I'm getting only a slightly musky (almost animalistic type of musk), dark amber scent. It's cologney and quite masculine for me. It smells like expensive men's aftershave, it has a freshness to it, but it's also a bit cloying. I can't seem to figure out what other notes are in this, they seem very well blended with the amber, wait! maybe leather?

Mmm..perhaps I'll try layering this with the Female version.

  16. This is a creamy vanilla sugar musk, it does smell like marshmallow and I get a little amber too (sugary amber). It reminds me a lot of the creamy base in Underpants, I was going to say the base in TKO but it's not as sweet to me.

If I smell really hard I can detect a faint lavender or some flowers but they are barely there, I also get a little bit of a dirt note but only when I sniff really hard, lol, but it fades. It's beautiful and I think it will be also be nice for layering with other scents.

Conclusion it's mainly a soft, creamy, vanilla marshmallow musk. I love it!

Only downfall is it doesn't seem to have much throw, it's very much a skin scent, or else it would be have been heaven for me.

  17. In the bottle: I'm getting the milk note from Nonae Caprotina and the Milk Moon's, with tangy blackberry a drop of beeswax.

Wet: still the same milk, followed by blackberry and honey, I'm starting to get a little ozone (similar to Whirling Wind Moon).

Dry: As it starts to dry the ozone note starts competing with the milk note and the ozone is winning. Ok, ozone is the winner and the milk is quickly fading, the blackberry is still in the background.

For awhile it's creamy, fruity ozone/snow, the throw is almost pure ozone for me. Around an hr. later it has faded a lot, and I'm left with a faint musky beeswax (similar to The Light's of Men's Lives), with a hint of ozone and just barely, barely any blackberry.

Conclusion: Mm..this one morphs big time for me. It's hard to figure it out, different notes were amped in all the different stages. I'm not sure if I want to smell like this, but it's an interesting scent, that's for sure. I'll test it again in a couple of days.

I would say the strongest note is ozone/snow once dried, if you like snow scents I would recommend you try it.

ETA: Now that it has settled a bit, I get more of the "snow" note than the wind/ozone note, so I revised my review a bit.

  18. This scent is perfectly fitting for a Penis God  . This scent is one of my favorites- complex, sexy, strong and masculine.

The myrrh is just gorgeous, I was worried about the champaca but thankfully it stayed in the background and is well blended with the other notes. I'm hardly getting any apple blossom at all, which is fine by me, it's also very well blended in there (perhaps the apple blossom is in there to prevent it from getting too masculine). I also get some get pine, resins and smokiness, and the Tan Xiang is a really nice sandalwood. . Very well blended.

  19. Ronin is definitely my favorite of all the 2010 Shungas.

In the bottle it reminds of a little of Harikata (one of my top 5 scents), I love the sexy honey musk of these type of Shungas more than the floral, fruity or tea type ones.

Initially I get honey and then later more honey and then it finishes with honey..Well, I amp honey *shrugs innocently * :P

Ok, ok, I also get some sandalwood in the background, and it's such a beautiful, airy, slightly creamy type of sandalwood, it works amazingly well in this blend, the oakmoss is adding a slight masculinity and earthiness, the black pepper stays way in then back for me, and the lovey rice flower adds some pretty.

To me this is the sexiest of all the Shungas, but subtle and understated sexy, it has an ethereal type of feel to it too. I'm in love.
