this smells like creamy jasmine on me with a bit of golden warmth (amber?) this one is just ok to me. it smells like a lot of other bpal scents 've tried, and nothing really stands out to me. i think it is because a) i am not really a fan of jasmine and scents with prominent jasmine tend to all smell similar on me, hence the generic quality i get.

this one is interesting. it's a bright strong floral. not really 'soft' at all. almost tropical in a way. at first it smells a bit too potpourri-ish for my tastes, but once it softens some slight spiciness seems to come out. it fades a bit too fast, but it's really pretty!

um. i love this one. at first it smells like dorian but with orange instead of lemon. like orange-cream-vanilla-tea. once it dries the tea is less noticeable and i think the spicyness/earthiness of patchouli comes through, but only slightly. i often don't like patchouli scents, and the patchouli in this smells nothing like typical patchouli to me. so it's like a slight spicy orange-dorian on me, so yeah i love this one. also i've keep trying to find a bpal scent with orange blossom that actually smells like orange blossom on me, and this is the first one that has worked.

this smells like green and powdery jasmine or honeysuckle on me. i don't get any rose or much else. it's an icky white floral on me. or maybe it smells good but just is totally not me.

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
theseagrows replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
if i like versace dreamer, what would i like? also alexander mcqueen's my queen? anyone? also, othello smells exactly like gaultier classique without that strong alcohol component. for this i am truly happy, and must acquire a bottle. also the bow and crown of conquest smells very similar to mac mv3 (the one in the black bottle.) for this i am truly happy and a bottle is on the way to me -
hm. i was almost positive i'd love this one, as i tend to do quite well with many amber scents, but there is something off in this on my skin. i get the amber and tonka, but then there's a weird musty smell that is similar to what i sometimes get from the bpal honey note, except it's more sour. after looking up the other notes i am pretty sure it's the galbanum.

this is a spicy and earthy scent, and is pretty unisex if you ask me. i think i mostly smell the musk, tobacco, clove and orange blossom, but i'm not sure as i am not the greatest at picking out notes. i smell no mint whatsoever though- that i am sure of. this reminds me of another bpal ive tried, but now cant remember which one it was. i want to say it's like perversion with no booze or leather. very brown and spicy. i think i am kind of ambivalent to this one. i dont hate it but...it's not wowing me either.

this is a light and sweet fruity floral. not too cloying, but very sweet. it has a slight commercialness to it. a pretty light summery floral. something in this is really familiar- jasmine or honeysuckle, which are both on my 'eh' list. this isn't really my thing, so i will probably swap it.

on me this smells like an aquatic citrus-floral. sweet from the florals but sharp from the ozone. it reminds me of commercial perfume, as ozones often do. i cant really make out separate notes in this, and i can't smell the violet at all. i like it better than some aquatics i've tried, but it's not really a keeper for me personally.

oberon smells masculine to me. it smells just like powdery dryer sheets on my skin. or detergent. must be the juniper? this isn't really me so it'll go to swaps.
-
wow what an interesting scent. i am mostly getting the blackcurrant, lavender and ozone, i think. it reminds me of something but i cant place it. almost like those blackcurrant candies that come in a tin-berry plus something slightly sharp/tart, which i believe is the ozone. the only downside is, i feel like this is fading fast on my skin.

i definitely sense the mandarin, tonka, saffron, black tea, tobacco leaf, and red musk, with the mandarin, tonka and tea being most prominent. kind of reminds me of a perfumey orange tea, if there were such a thing. it's very light and pretty with slight spiciness underneath. a keeper!

thank god the cedar/sage isn't overpowering in this. i get warm spicy carnationy-leather. in other words, total hotness. this is very unisex, so dudes could pull it off too. it kind of reminds me of mac mv3, which i love, which is a vanilla, leather, vetiver + other stuff blend. i am so thrilled when leather blends work on me.

i had to look up cassia, i don't think i'd ever tried a scent with this note. i am really ambivalent when it comes to foody scents, and cakey is usually even worse, but i was drawn to this monster bait. it reminds me of a cheese danish with cinnamon-maple-y stuff and some berries...maybe? it smells SO familiar, but i can't quite put my finger on it. i am undecided as to whether or not i should keep it. i do like it, but i don't know if i love it. i'll have to try it a few more times.

this smells EXACTLY like gaultier classique to me, without the strong alcohol component. whose notes are- Orange Flower, Bulgarian Rose, Italian Mandarin, Star Aniseed, Orchid, Iris, Ylang-Ylang, Indian Ginger, Soft Vanilla, Woody Amber. this doesn't smell that rosy to me, but does smell like a spicy floral-oriental. i love gaultier classique, and therefore love othello! i dont find this to be that masculine either.
-
foody scents are hit and miss for me, but i like eat me! it's got the creamy vanilla-cake going on with the berry to tart it up a bit, and i swear there's a slight amber or spice scent i'm getting too. not sure i'd wear this often, but it smells really lovely for a foody scent ETA: later when it's more worn-off i get the plasticky smell i got from midway. but in the early stages it smells pretty.

i got this one in my hopes of the orange blossom smelling good on me, but alas it's just ok. i can smell a candy-orange scent, the tea and a weirdness to it which i assume is the pepper? it also has a bubblyness to it, for lack of a better word. i don't smell a typical orange blossom fron this at all, which is unfortunate for me because i like the typical tart orange blossom floral-scent. this is more sweet orange candy on me. it reminds me of a scented doll.

The most hippie / hippy scent you have tried?
theseagrows replied to MrsSoup67's topic in Recommendations
anything with poppy/opium smells hippie to me. -
i normally love orange blossom, but for some reason this scent is bubblegummy sweet on me, with a hint of mustiness, maybe from the sandalwood? i'm not sure, but i will have to re-try this. re-try, yeeears later after receiving a frimp from the lab: i get sweet honey and orange blossom with a hint of rose. it reminds me of rose flavored turkish delight. the rose goes slightly sour on me. i love rose, but bpal's rose can be beautiful or sour depending on the blend. the orange blossom and honey gets very very sweet after being on the skin about 15 minutes. far too sweet for me.
-
bastet is another spicy floral that i love. it's very warm and musky, and the lotus isn't too promiment, like it has been in other scents where it gets the bubblegum-y smell. i wouldn't even know lotus was in here if i just sniffed it. a possible big bottle purchase.

Lush, creamy vanilla and the honey of the sweetest kiss smeared with the vital throb of husky clove, swollen red cherries, but darkened with the vampiric sensuality of vetiver, soporific poppy and blood red wine, and a skin-light pulse of feral musk. i should stay clear of poppy or opium scents, i know i should, but...i still wanted to try this one. still the poppy comes through too much making this smell too headshop-ish for my tastes.
-
ooooh i love this one. i thought it might be overly floral, but it's really not. it's very warm and spicy, kind of a spicy floral/floral-oriental. reminds me of haunted with florals added, like a richer more complex haunted. definitely getting a big bottle of this one!
-
i know the only thing similar to sin and haunted is the amber, but this reminds me a lot of haunted, just with a spiciness added in. the sandalwood is faint enough not to give me a headache, and so is the patchouli! the amber and cinnamon come out on my skin the most, so i love this one! cinnamon can be hit or miss but the amber makes it work i think. it's very spicy and sexy- it makes me think of dark red.
-
this is one weird scent! first it starts of REALLY nutty, beyond just an 'almond-type' scent, it actually smells like nuts. then that fades a bit and the spices and florals(?) come through. the description doesn't say florals, but i sense some sort of floral. once the nuttiness calms down, there is a resulting sweetness that comes through. this is very interesting, but i'm not sure i'd wear it too much. it's basically a warm golden scent with lots of nuts.

i love neroli so much, but am not too familiar with bpal's neroli. this was a lot sweeter than i would've expected-perhaps it's the ylang ylang, which i am not overly familar with either. it's a pretty floral, and a bit sweet. with neroli i expected a more tart-sweetness, but it wasn't like that at all. still a pretty scent though, but a bit too floral-sweet for my tastes.
