i avoided this one for the pine element for so long, but the lab frimped me some in a recent order. however, i was pleasantly surprised by this! for one thing, it smells much better on my skin than in the imp. it's a sweet sugary pine, not sharp at all, i think the orange rounds it out nicely.

i got this as a frimp from the lab. at first it smells EXACTLY like a page in a scratch n' sniff book i had as a child-there was one page where there was a bouquet of dark pink flowers, and it smells exactly like those flowers. i wish i could remember what book it was now! i'm not sure what palmarosa smells like, but i think perhaps that and the sandalwood are dominating. it's a strange sort of sweet floral similar to orchid, with a touch of rose and the sandalwood mixed in. it reminds me quite a bit of another bpal i've tried but i can't remember which one it is. i often like rose scents, but this one doesn't really work for me.

got this as a frimp from the lab. at first it smelled just like damp soil with a bit of sharp greenery maybe? now a few hours later it has morphed into a completely different scent, that's kind of a sweet and dry scent with a sort of musky undertone, or close to musk...i can't quite place what it is, but it smells very familair. i am pleasantly surprised by this one!

i tried this from a friend who had it, and i was surprised by how much i liked it! i don;t get all those notes though, i really only think the grapefruit and red currant come out (maybe the chamomile). i dont get the dark musk at all, but i'd love it if i did. it was a light, clear grapefruit scent mostly. very pretty, fresh and summery with a little sweetness.

i sort of knew i would either really love or really hate this one. i can't pick out the florals in this, but it's a soft, bright floral that comes through the main aquatic note. i think the 'salty' part does not work with my skin chemistry. the aquatic gets a strong bitter edge to it on my skin that is nearly nauseating. now that it's faded it smells soft and clean and kind of pretty, but it's too aquatic for my tastes and the bitter note at the beginning isn't worth it for me. this one will go to swaps.

i love neroli and orange blossom, so i figured this'd be right up my alley. i find bpal's orange blossom to be sweeter than most i've tried, but still nice. this scent starts off very citrussy- all orange blossom and neroli, then it fades and becomes very powdery, almost how violet can do, but there's none in this blend. so i am not sure what's doing it here. after awhile the powder dies down and it's a soft, beautiful orange blossom scent. i wish it had a bit more throw, but other than that i really like it.

like others have said, this reminds me of the show LOST, smelling it while reading the description, anyway. it's heady, damp flowers with musk and a touch of smoke. it's tropical but not in a cloying, fruity way, and reminds me of dark green, more like an island at night. very pretty.

out of all the new catalogue scents that had come out a couple months ago, this was the one i was most excited about. all my skin seems to emit is the white tea, lemon peel and orchid (mostly). i get NO leather from this, and i think if i had i would've loved this more than i do. it's a mostly orchid scent on me, and i like orchid so i do like this, but it's sweeter and more perfumy than i had hoped. i will keep the imp, i am just not sure about a bottle.

i am in love with this one- there is a soft, warm vanilla (but the vanilla doesn't turn to powder on me like it does in some other blends). the beautiful musk and the delicate white sandalwood blend perfectly with the vanilla. i can't really smell the lily or sea moss at all, and am not sure about the other notes. all i know is this is gorgeous and warm.

The Native American Creator / Trickster God of Chaos and Change. The warmth of doeskin, dry plains grasses and soft, dusty woods warmed by amber and a downy, gentle coat of deep musk. oh man, this is so evocative. i don't know why or what, but it just IS. it's warm and a bit sweet and i can smell musk and amber and something sweet with a slight spice that reminds me of dragon's blood, but doesn't seem to actually be dragon's blood, because that is a note that does not work on me. this scent smells so soft to me, but in a tactile way, not soft in a scented way. it's very lovely!

i got this as a frimp from someone, and initially would've avoided it because of the frankincense and jasmine, which usually turn bad on me, but in here they're pretty ok. i definitely smell the moonflower and blackcurrant and maybe the sandalwood, as this has a slight woody quality to it. prettier than i thought it would be with my skin chemistry, but this is still a bit too sweet of a floral for me.

...Beauty, joy, pleasure and delight: devastated. This is the scent of the hopelessness, torment and despair of love. Lavender and wisteria, heart-wrenching pale rose, desolate white sandalwood and thin, tear-streaked white musk. at first this smelled like lavender and eucalyptus; a very strong vick's vapo-rub scent came forth. it was very sharp and strong. now that it's mellowed a bit, it's very pretty, and i think the white musk adds a nice touch. i'm not exactly sure what wisteria smells like, but i am not getting a strong rose or lavender feeling from this, so it must be blended very well. a dry floral with a soft musk base. reminds me of gaultier, which was my signature scent when i was younger, so i quite like this.

this is simple, crisp and summery. very light and fresh, it's definitely white tea and ginger, but the ginger is very subtle, and i thought i smelled citrus, but maybe that's just the white tea. very light and pretty, seems like it'd be perfect for spring or summer.

this one smells like sugary light tea with honey. bpal's honey sometimes turns weird on me, and i am afraid it does in this blend as well. when first applied, the scent is intriguing, but as it dries, the honey becomes very prominent on me and a bit sickly sweet. i'll have to try this one again at a later date and give a final verdict, but thus far, this one isn't working for me.

this is a very dry, woody scent with a touch of herbs to it, and maybe some frankincense as i get a slight pencil lead scent, which is usually what frankincense does on me. i think i smell some musks or amber too perhaps. i think the woods are a bit too much for me. on my skin they almost smell foody but not sweet-foody, and i don't really want to smell like that. lovers of herbal-woody scents may love this though.

at first the mums in this are STRONG, and sweeter than i think mums actually are. once it fades a bit i get a nice incense-musk-smoky-mum scent that is very nice! opium doesn't usually work for me, but in this one it is ok. has pretty good throw on my skin. i might decide to get a bottle of this.

i was apprehensive of this one, because of the patchouli, but i love spicy and leathery scents. luckily the patchouli isn't strong at all! i get mostly clove, leather and tonka (i think), with slight woods in the background. reminds me of the bow and crown of conquest, but without the vanilla, so it's less sweet and more masculine. but not TOO masculine. i quite like it actually-it's warm, dark and sexxxay. i think i'll get a big bottle of this one.

this is a very sweet floral with some smokiness and i think i sense the pepper. ive tried other scents with champaca, but i believe the note wasn't as prominent in them. it's a pretty scent for someone who likes sweeter florals, but it doesn't work for me. i think it'd work better on my skin if it was smokier with less floral.

first off, jasmine smells like....mothballs or bad breath on me-really hard to explain, but it does not smell good. not bpal's jasmine, anyway. at first all i get is the jasmine-strong, sharp and sour. ugh. then when it dries down it's a vanilla-violet-musk that is a bit powdery, but it's a GOOD powdery. in fact i really like it a lot when it's dry, but the first half an hour it smells gross on me. i'll most likely keep my imp but not buy a bottle of this one. i think i'd like it better if the jasmine was more subtle.

i can't seem to pick out many notes in this, but it smells like a bright fruity-floral to me. it definitely has an asian feel, and i really cant seem to get much musk or vanilla from this, maybe very faintly. perhaps i am getting mostly the grapefruit and rice wine? i dont really know what bpal's grapefruit smells like. it's a very pretty clear, bright, sweet scent. it reminds me of shampoo, and it's a little too sweet for my personal tastes.

this is one of the strangest bpal's i've smelled as of yet. at first it smells carbonated and almost root beer-ish with a woody/leafy scent underneath and a sweet floral. it has a bubbliness to it. then once it fades, the sweet floral (lily, i guess), becomes really sweet and strong, almost fruity. too sweet for me in fact. this scent isn't for me, but it is a really intriguing one!

these love-scents never seem to work on me. this one smelled like cinnamon and baby powder with a jasmine/honeysuckle edge to it (neither work on me.) when faded it smells better, kind of cinnamon-woody, but reminds me too much of men's obsession by calvin klein.

i got a near empty decant of this from someone, and there was enough left for one or two tests. initially, voodoo queen reminds me SO much of perversion (without the leather), and i like it a lot better than perversion. i think there possibly is a bit of skin musk, tonka, incense, amber and tobacco. but i am not the greatest at picking out notes. it's a bit spicy and very sexy. after absorbing a bit, it hardly reminds me of perversion, and i think i am mostly smelling incense and tobacco. oh lordy, i'd love to track down more of this.

sol smells just like bengal with ylang ylang on me. pretty much i am sensing musk, ylang ylang and ginger. nice, but not really my thing.

maybe i have weird skin chemistry, but this smells like a slightly aquatic, slightly sweet floral, with a touch of tea. it's a bit perfumy even. i think i like it though and that i will keep it. it's got a brightness to it, despite its name.
