this is a beautiful creamy rose. at the outset, the white rose is sour on me, and smells like dying flowers, as bpal's white rose often does. once i get past that stage though, this is a warm creamy rose. it reminds me of rose cake or rose frosting and is beautiful and ethereal.

this is a very ozoney-green-floral. it evokes the name of the scent perfectly- it smells like a cool, dark night. it's a pretty scent, and i love the idea of it, but it is too ozoney for my personal tastes.

this is for the 2008 version: this is a very dark, spicy scent. the patchouli behaves and stays in the background, and i mostly get opoponaz, amber, myrrh and maybe the pimenta racemosa. it's spicy in an almost-cinnamon way, but not quite. very nice. i think a scent like this with added leather would be so so hot. i will probably hang onto my imp. also, i'd love to smell this on a guy...

this smells pretty masculine to me, in the traditional sense. something in it, not sure what is giving off a kind of shaving cream/aftershave scent, perhaps bergamot? the vetiver and nutmeg seem pretty subtle, and i mostly get citrus, ginger and the sharp masculine-herbal smell. this isn't really working for me, i think i'll swap my imp.

i get a slightly citrussy white floral in this. i sense the white rose, orris root and jonquil the most. i kind of wish i could get more orange blossom and carrot seed. this smells very proper to me, doesn't really seem all that sexual, actually. it's nice but not something i would wear much.

all i am getting is the copal and something earthy. i am getting that distinct pencil shaving note that i usually only get from frankincense or sandalwood...so maybe it's the type of patchouli used? i'm not sure, but whatever it is, this doesn't work for me.

this scent is a bit strange on me. the pine is less sharp than the pine i am used to and is closer to a sweet pine sap scent. the background is a nice vanilla-honey-resin scent. i sort of wish my skin didn't amp the pine as much as it does, but i like this scent for something different.

this is a slightly sweet floral with a darkness behind it. it's glittering and bright but there is definitely something dark underneath. i can smell the lily and heliotrope most strongly, and there is something in this that slightly reminds me of apricot, but not as fruity. the copal adds a nice background. very pretty but smells like a lot of other scents on me, so i will swap it.

this is very reminiscent of a commercial perfume i've smelled before, but i cannot place it (as usual!) it strikes me as both feminine and masculine at the same time. something is almost powdery about this- like a green powdery floral scent. it kind of turns my stomach. i guess it could be the incense? i'm not sure. there is definitely an ozone quality too. i just don't like this scent with my skin chemistry. it's very odd and difficult for me to describe too.

this is a very bloody scent, it really is reminiscent of blood or reminds me of it. i am thinking the blood accord is red wine or something similar? i am getting a definite wine note, along with the grape, and blackberry. i get a subtle leather background, and i can't really make out the floral, clove or ivy notes. this scent is ok on me, but the red wine scent is a bit strong and is giving me a headache, so i will probably swap it.

smells like dusty figs with a hint of greenery in the background. i get something almost powdery/cocoa-y too, but not quite really powdery. it's very fall-like and the fig isn't too sweet or fruity to be cloying. a strange scent but i think i will like it for fall.

this was a frimp from someone and also a surprise hit! i looove chrysanthemum, tea and white musk but the jasmine and especially the acai berry made it iffy, as i often don't like fruity scents. however, this is a sexy, sophisticated fruit that i could actually see myself wearing. the berry is the most prominent note, but the background is a beautiful vanilla-tea-musk that is so pretty and sensual that i can't stop sniffing my arm! eta: more time has passed and GOOD LORD this is beautiful, and i must have a bottle! i love bpal surprises...i never thought i'd even like this one

honeysuckle and jasmine often don't work on me, but i figured they might work with the other notes. i was wrong though, this one doesn't smell too good with my skin chemistry. i smell mostly florals, orris and musk. there is a sour (jasmine/honeysuckle) powderiness (orris?) to this scent and not much else. it just smells musty and powdery on me :/

initially, the red musk is the strongest. in the imp it reminds me of smut, but a clearer, less murky smut. on my skin the other notes blossom in a few minutes. the black currant and orchid become more prominent, but red musk remains the strongest note. all the other are in the background as supporting notes. i quite like this- a more subtle, everyday-wearable smut on my skin.

this is a pretty floral aquatic. very clean and fresh but with a hint of sweetness. it smells like freshly shampooed hair to me. it's kind of familiar and comforting. it's also cooling-perfect for the spring and summer.

damn, i thought caramel would be the deal-breaker here, but it's the teak. i get a weird sharp-wooden smell from teak that is just totally unenjoyable. all the other notes work on me though and this would be a drop-dead gorgeous scent if it weren't for the teak adding a wonkiness to it. it's been years since i tried this and was frimped the latest version: this smells very apple-y sweet at first. i think it's honey and apples. my impression seems quite different from the past, where apparently, i didn't get apples at all! i don't wear many fruity scents, so i'm not sure about this. after a couple of minutes i get some woods, and yes theyre a bit sharp, but not too sharp and some cream accord. the apple seems to be giving me a headache. it's a very green granny smith sour apple (which i love the taste of) but it's not really what i want to smell like. after a few more minutes, this changes completely-the caramel comes out and improves the scent for me, but it's still too sweet and appley for my personal tastes, plus i seem to amp the caramel and apple quite a bit.

Rose, rose geranium, myrrh, ylang ylang, French gardenia, tuberose, red sandalwood, and palmarosa. this is one of those rose scents that turns horribly wrong with my skin chemistry, which is about 25% of the time. it's like a sour, decaying rose. unless it's the rose geranium. i can sort of smell the tuberose but that's about all else i can make out. i need to wash this off right away, the rose is just sickly smelling on my skin :/

this scent surprised me with how PRETTY it is!! it's like a sweet, soft slightly sugary lemon scent on my skin. i can't really pick out a lot of the notes, as they are blended so well. i do smell the beeswax too, which adds a nice honey backdrop for the lemon. thankfully, i don't smell the frankincense at all, which sometimes turns on me. this is reminiscent of another scent i've tried, but i can't place it. this is kind of the perfect honey scent on me. i may need a bottle of this one...

in the imp i smell patchouli and pepper, pretty simple, however this scent blossoms on my skin quite beautifully. i love carnation scents, and it adds a nice extra spice to the black pepper and clove, which is all i can really smell, the clove being most prominent. that's fine with me, because sometimes patchouli can be too earthy for my tastes. i only wish the tea came out more on my skin. this actually smells a lot like clove cigarettes, but without the hint of sugary sweetness. very nice!

wow what a pretty scent! in the imp, the fig and orange are very prominent. on my skin, the notes are blended so beautifully that it is difficult to pick them out. i definitely smell the fig and musk as the most prominent notes. the nutmeg is (thankfully!) just a hint in the background. this reminds me a bit of lancome's tresor which i used to wear some in high school, except this is subtler, prettier and more complex. i am contemplating a bottle of this one.

i have been dying to try this for ages and i hoped and prayed that it wouldn't be too foody, but it is. i wish it were "Crushed roses and blackcurrant tarts." then it would be perfect for me, but that foody-cakey part from the tarts is not making me happy.

what an interesting scent this is. it strongly reminds me of something i have smelled before, but cannot place. it has an ethereal ozoney quality but there is an underlying sweetness and slight fruitiness from the yuzu. the lavender and white musk are the base of the scent, and the patchouli and vetiver are very subtle. i like this more than i thought i would, but i can't decide if i would actually wear it or not.

this is a very mossy, woody scent. it brings to mind brown and dark green. it's foresty and earthy, reminiscent of tarot: death, without the vetiver. there is also a slightly damp feeling to this, like damp wood. very dark, earthy and interesting!

weird, something in here reminds me of buck moon/ivanushka (which remind me of each other). i think it's the musk? and i smell the coconut and the sandalwood is hinted at in the background. this scent is very warm and and dusty. the incense is very strange. this is a really interesting scent-so difficult to describe but it is an incensey buck moon on me, with a less outdoorsy quality.

all i am really getting here is amber, leather and wood, i think? maybe a hint of the flowers. it smells like leather + tobacco though. very reminiscent of other bpals ive tried. i love leather scents, so i quite enjoy this!
