i had originally been uninterested in this one, but people's review made me more excited for it. however, their skin chemistry must be very different from mine! this starts off with a slightly burnt kind of foody note that also smells kind of like a parchment/paper note i recall from other scents. (needless to say i do not like it.) once that disappears this becomes a weirdly musky aquatic scent. it's not exactly white musk, but there is something else added to it. it's SO familiar, but i just cannot place it. off to swaps with this one.

wow, this is an odd scent. it does smell very old to me. it's an herbal-citrus scent with maybe a hint of violet to sweeten it up? it smells like something chemical, almost paint-like or turpentine ish? (yet not as strong.) it's got an aquatic thing going on too. this scent is so odd, and is not working with my skin chemistry at all. i cannot see wearing it, but i am glad i got to try it.

i love this scent in theory! and i want to love it more than i do....i used to really love rose scents, and i still do sometimes, but no longer can i really wear bold, strong rose-resin scents like these. i need my rose to be softer and creamy these days, but still, this is lovely and exotic, even if i don't want to wear it. this sounds weird, but i would love to have a box that smells like this. i guess that's what this reminds me of-an imported box of rose petals- woody-resiny and rosy at the same time.

this is a very spicy scent with a dusty, wooden undertone. i think i am mostly getting tanka and the kief accord (after googling that) along with some patchouli maybe? i don't really know. it's a fairly woody-earthy scent that starts out with a kind of cinnamony spice. this is an alright scent, but not really my thing. i kind of want to try it on my boyfriend though.

i love rose and amber, so if there is a scent with both, i am likely to try it. i get mostly amber, rose and something resiny. maybe the frankincense or galbanum? but i am not sure which. BPAL's frankincense sometimes turns bad on me, but it behaves here, so i have trouble telling what it is when it's behaving, or when it is less prominent.. after awhile this turns to a deep wooden scent and the egyptian musk comes out more. combined with the amber it is slightly powdery. i like this, but i feel like i've smelled a lot of other scents like this. i will have to try it again later to see how i feel for sure.

oooh i am pleasantly surprised by this! i love rosey-sugary scents, so i had to give this a try, but i am wary of nutmeg, pomegranate and chocolate, as i am not really into very foody or fruity scents, HOWEVER, the chocolate in this is nice and subtle and i get a perfumy rosy chocolate-vanilla scent from this. there is a bit of sweetness from the pomegranate, but nothing too sweet, so i am liking this a lot. i wish the rose stuck around longer, like it did in the beginning, but now this is mostly a perfumy pomegranate. still pretty though and i will keep my imp.

whoa, this is very weird at first. it reminds me of the scent of perm solution in a salon, mixed with white florals.it's like a mixture of chemicals and burnt hair and ylang ylang. it's been about 15 minutes now, and it is a bit softer, but there is still a strong burning chemical smell, and i have no idea what note is making it. i will have to swap this one, because it just smells terribly odd on me.

ooh, i think of the shunga-vulva scents, this is my favorite thus far. i love copal and the honey behaves on my skin. it's a mildly perfumy vanilla-honey on me, and i swear i pick up a tiny amount of red musk or some other clean smelling musk?? i'm not sure what that could be though. this is very warm and sexy and is very close to the skin. i like this a lot, and may have to get a bottle!

i think i am getting primarily honey with a touch of leather and tobacco. not sure about the myrrh, but this is mostly honey, and it seems to be a waxy honey on me. not BPAL's usual honey note which turns strawlike on me, but more of a candle-beeswax sort of thing going on. this is ok but i actually don't like it as much as i thought it would...i think i may be amping the leather too much as it's giving me a bit of a headache.
-
hrrm, this smells very odd on me. i can't even pick out what notes are coming forth, but i am guessing tobacco flower and linen? it smells floral but there is something sharp and green or aquatic in this mixed with the floral scent. it's very crisp and leans more towards the masculine. i was iffy on this scent, but loved the image so much that i had to try it, but it's just not for me.

i am really surprised there's no fruit in this! unless it is contained in the pink musk? this definitely seems like a soft, creamy fruity-floral to me, but the fruit is soft enough to not overwhelm me. it's kind of candyish, and i tend to not like foody scents, but don't mind sweet powdery scents, so i really like this! i just wish i knew what was in that pink musk :Di also seem to have good luck with star jasmine, and it is adding a nice touch in the background, so that is nice. i will definitely keep my imp.

whoa this smells like the outdoors on me! it smells like a leafy overhang by this beach in big sur. slightly damp and dirty but with a subtle floral scent to it. so i think from that description, i am mostly getting oud and white tea leaf from this. it's earthy and slightly perfumy at the same time. what an odd scent. i can't even make up my mind about this one! it smells neither masculine or feminine to me, but somewhere right along the middle. it kind of reminds me of the scent of freshly washed skin and hair- perfumy but also something organic. in fact, i think this would be an amazing smelling shampoo. not sure i would wear it often as a scent (maybe in summer?) but for now i will keep my imp.

oh wow, this is a beauty! very warm yet clear. thankfully, the apricot behaves and isn't too strong and fruity (i tend to avoid fruit notes.) i think i am mostly getting a creamy vanilla, tonka, lily and apricot in this. it's a very golden vanilla scent, but it also has a coolness bordering on aquatic, lurking in the background, yet i am not sure what note it is attributed to, maybe the oak+lily. this is a very sophisticated scent and it has a lot of throw. i like this, but my skin seems to be amping something in this quite a bit. i think it will work for me if i use it very sparingly.
-
got a frimp of this in my BPTP lupercalia order, i was surprised by that! anyway, it's fizzy lemon. light and effervescent. it smells exactly like something else, which i can't put my finger on. but it really reminds me of a lemony soda or sprite/7-up. OH i just realized what it is! it smells exactly like those airbonrne immunity-boosting tablets to me. fizzy lemon and grapefruit.

i have to remind myself that my skin chemistry and tastes are changing! when i saw the notes in this i immediately knew i had to have it, because i have a big love for sexy, red-musk, carnationy scents. bpal's honey note doesn't always work, but i figured that it would work here. this IS a really beautiful and sexy scent, but the red musk is so strong. i think my skin amps it, and i used to like very strong, sexy scents, but lately i've been into softer scents more. i still like these musky-oriental-floral sexy scents, but i just don't wear them as often as i used to, and i have a lot of them that being said! this is pretty gorgeous. it starts out as a mish-mash of all the notes with the red musk most prominent. once the red musk calms down a bit, the myrrh comes through and the carnation fades a bit. the honey adds a weird straw-like feel, which bpal's honey note seems to do on me. luckily it's not too strong in this blend. now it's a perfumy red musk and honey-very passionate indeed! ETA: it's now been on for about half an hour more and the honey has amped up. i get that weird dry straw-note that NO ONE else seems to get from bpal's honey. it is so odd. not sure i want to keep this scent if the honey stays this strong and for this long.

ooh, this seems to work better on me than other beeswax scents i've tried. i've steered clear of them because they just always smell odd on me, but this one smells kind of good. kind of like a musky-vanilla with beeswax. it's kind of sexy because of the musk, which i like. it;s a pretty gorgeous honey scent for me. BPAL's regular honey note sometimes goes weird on my skin as can the beeswax, but this is wonderful, the kind of honey i've longed for. (also it reminds me of a less vanilla-sweet version of l'occitane's miel et citron, which i liked quite a bit.)

hmm, this one isn't working for me. it's very resin-y to me. there is a slight white floral here, but it is mostly resins with a tiny hint of fruit (plum?) which turns plasticky on me. there is also something that's turning leadlike on me (usually frankincense and sandalwood.) needless to say this does not work for me and is a bit headache inducing, actually. i'll have to swap it.
-
ooh i like this! i love victorian rose scents and this is no exception. at first the rose is quite strong, but then it mellows out into a nice creamy rose. this reminds me of alice without the carnation, and maybe yellow roses instead of a red rose? it definitely has an alice/maiden feel to it. must get a big bottle of this, if it's even possible!
-
this is the bpal snow scent with some floral added, but i cannot tell what flower it is supposed to be. it definitely a sweet, bright yellow flower...like a mixture of the current winter + the promise of spring. very bright and pretty!
-
at first this starts off with a strong snowy-slightly pine scent which i guess is the "slushy" part. it has that typical bpal snow note, but after that fades a bit, this scent gets more interesting and complex. it turns into a nice creamy vanilla with a tinge of citrus. i am not getting much mint and maybe just a hint of yuzu. very pretty, and it seems cold and warm at the same time-very wintry!
-
let me premise by saying that foody is not my thing, but somehow i got ahold of some of this. it smells like creamy buttered popcorn to me. kind of going rancid. there's a weird almost buttery-cheesy scent that i am not liking, so off to swaps with this one.
-
this is a very sweet, cloying peachy-floral on me. i am amping only the osmanthus and peach. it's so floral, it makes me sneeze-it's like entering a flower shop! i am not getting any woods or vanilla to temper this one. it's sweet and sharp and way too strong on me.
-
i got this as a frimp in a decant circle. and how do i put this, but for the first minute or two, this has a poopy smell to it. literally. i think it's gotta be the combination of opium, jasmine and fruit? i don't know! but whatever it is, it smells disgusting on me. finally, that scent sort of drifts away and i am left with honey, jasmine and fruit. not really my kind of scent, as bpal's white florals get really amped and stinky on me. oh well, i am glad i got to try this, because i do love the artwork!
-
whoa, this is foody and sweet! i tend to steer clear of pumpkin, because it is both of those things, but i thought maybe the coconut, rooibos and ginger would even it out. at first it's straight up foody pumpkin, then i smell the fennel and peppercorns-it smells like spicy indian food at this point, and all sweetness is lost. it continues on as spicy indian food, which is one of my favorite scents but i don't really want to personally smell like it. i wonder if it's the fennel that's doing it? i have no idea. ETA: about 20 minutes later, it sweetens up a bit more and smells like a spicy pastry of some sort.
