This is a soft and slightly ozoney floral snow scent. I get the violet, but none of the jasmine. It feels like a close relative to The Darkling Thrush.

This reminds me of Love and Sleep, with a slightly dustier edge that's probably the sandalwood. Luckily I am getting none of the vetiver! It is soft and creamy litus + fig milk. Might get a big bottle.

Lyre-leaved sage, moth mullein, dandelions, and sweet while violet creeping through ancient brownstone walls and crumbling shale. Am I really first? Okay then. Some of these notes are unfamiliar to me, but what I am getting is a distinct violet note with some greenery. There is a little bit of dandelion, too, and it's very pretty. It is not as dry as the other cemetery scent, this one is more fresh and green, like a graveyard in the spring. There is a depth to it as well that could very well be the stone notes. I can't decide which one of them I like the best, but this one is very good! The violet is also not headachey for me.

This is surprisingly not very aquatic on me. A little hint of salt, maybe, but mostly a sweet and wistful floral with a touch of frankincense. I'm glad I took a chance on this in a swap

This is a sweet and creamy floral. Not too rosy, if you're worried about that note. Mainly tulip and lily, light and delicate as fresh-picked flowers. It has a hint of spicy autumn in the background, but could work wonderfully also as a Valentine's Day scent.

This is wonderful! It's caramels over sharp, but light snow. Very straightforward. Not getting much tobacco, which is fine by me. It's rather faint on my skin with not much throw, but I like it.

The Countess of Morcar's Blue Carbuncle
Aviatrix replied to LiberAmoris's topic in 221B Baker Street
I agree with LiberAmoris on the blue incense aspect. While it is still wet on me it's a sort of bubblegummy scent - but in a nice way, mind you. As it dries I get more of the individual notes, especially a soft iris in the background. The sugar crystals are not too prominent, so if you're worried about them going artificial, you needn't be. It has the right balance between musky and floral, sweet and solemn. I really like this one and I think it fits the idea of a dazzling jewel very well. -
This is so beautiful! It goes on easily and evenly, and one coat was enough for me. There is the softest shimmer in this, which I really like. My nails look like midnight blue mother-of-pearl

A flutter in the darkness: wild plum and blackcurrant with aged black patchouli, vetiver, red rose petal, tonka absolute, and opoponax. I get a heavy dose of vetiver and some plum and blackcurrant in the background. No rose on me, alas. This is way too dark for me, but I'm glad I got to try it!

I am not getting a huge lot of patchouli from this, surprisingly. It has a strong cherry note and a little verbena. Something citrusy. The cardamom spices it up nicely. The cherry is a little too sweet for me, but otherwise it is a pretty and festive blend. Not spooky at all!

Strangely, I am not getting any red musk on me, even though it tends to amp on me. I get a very faint blend of violet, spice, and dust. Quite pleasant, but ultimately too faint for my tastes.

This is mostly a soft jasmine + hay on me. Maybe a bit of wood in the background. It is quite pleasant, and I might consider a bottle….

This is a beautiful opaque sun-yellow. I am not very proficient in applying polishes, so I needed like three coats before it became even, but it turned out very striking! I can see myself wearing this a lot in the autumn, actually.

This is a superb polish! A beautiful, even teal colour - I really only needed one layer, it went on like a dream!

Delayed at Ingolstadt Air Field Atmosphere Spray
Aviatrix replied to Lycanthrope's topic in Atmosphere
This is such a beautiful outdoorsy scent; fresh mountain air against sweet flowers. I definitely think of a mountainside when I spray this in my room! -
No One Heard Her Except the Sparrows Atmosphere Spray
Aviatrix replied to Lycanthrope's topic in Atmosphere
This is strong but soft orris against delicious white chocolate. I am not sure I am getting the other notes, but the whole scent feels very soft and rounded, so that could definitely be the sandalwood in the background. I really like it! -
This is very close to this year's The Bear Prince, without the musk. It's the snow of Snow White + a beautiful lush rose, that indeed does smell like a white rose. It's pretty straightforward and very beautiful

Anise, Aniseed, Licorice, Liquorice, Fennel, Ouzo?
Aviatrix replied to Reaver's topic in Recommendations
Le Pere Fouettard! It's licorice, leather, and cake. -
Hello all I have recently fallen in love with rice flower as a scent, and now I am trying to find all the BPALs I can with that note. So far I already have Plovers Above the Waves, which is not super rice flower on me. I read about Diwali, but was wondering if anyone could elaborate on how the rice flower note is in that one? Any other recommendations will be most welcome

This is mostly straight up lilac on me. Maybe a little bit of bergamot. It's very pretty, but my lilac needs are already fulfilled by Eusapia, so I will not be getting a full bottle of this.

This is warm and woody and feels very classical. I am not getting much in the way of copper aspects, though. Too masculine for me, but I can imagine it being quite popular with the guys!
-
This is mostly slushy, minty snow on me. After it has dried down completely, there is a bit of a darker aspect, probably the wood and decay, coming out. It is pleasant enough, but would probably have been better as a room spray.

This is the smell of a medieval witch's kitchen in full swing before a halloween banquet! It is mainly apple and cake, with a little earthiness from the patchouli. Very atmospheric and nice!

This is all booze. Warm and nice booze, to be sure, but still….I don't want my room to smell like a bar
