    Desire

The overwhelming agony of passion crystallized into a singularly dark and magnetic blend: bittersweet neroli, black patchouli and black musk, gilded by apple, bergamot, blood red rose, teak, and vanilla. I figured I would like this one. Strangely, it ends up smelling overly-sweet on me. The rose isn't overpowering, but I'm guessing that the rose mixed with the apply is going floral/sweet. Ends up smelling like a nice grandma perfumey soap. I can't really pick out any of the other notes.

    Bewitched

Wet: yep, berries, sage, and tea. Although, it's strange, it's sticking really close to my skin. I can hardly smell anything. These are all things I enjoy, so I figured I'd really enjoy this. Dry: vaguely sweet berries with a hint of green in the background. Then my skin ate it up. I can hardly smell anything an hour later.

    The Other Mother's Right Hand

Ooh, I have a prototype lab bottle from a swapper. I'm glad that zankoku_zen noted both of her reviews because the imp that I smelled of this wasn't as smoky, either. I agree with the second review, but I seem to remember the imp smelling sweeter on me.

    Snake Can

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! The same sweet, nutty note in Mouse Circus, but with the subtle sexiness of Snake Oil in the background. Perhaps a bit of musk. I'd say about medium-to-low throw, and lasts all day. I seriously want to douse myself in this everyday. Must find another bottle!

    Gingerbread, Vetiver, and Black Clove

Very peppery gingerbread, very sweet clove. The vetiver adds a woodsy note. I would wear this with a big, warm sweater, on days when I'm not feeling great. This is very comforting and slightly melancholy.

Wet: green, citrus, slightly floral Drydown: freesia and amber poking their heads out over the citrus. The musk, honeydew, and guava are getting pounced on. Dry: I agree, this is a well-blended scent, but it's not for me. It ends up smelling like fancy soap on me, though. I think I'm amping the freesia because it just smells clean, green, and floral.

    Xiuhtecuhtli

Wet: smoky orange with a floral background, and the copal sweetening things up. I wouldn't pinpoint plumeria. Dry: still a smoky orange with a sweetness and tropical floral. Very pretty and good for a summer evening. An hour later the plumeria becomes more apparent and sexy. This ends up being a fruity, lightly floral, flirty fragrance with low throw.

    Blue Fire

In the bottle: fizzy blueberries, but also reminds me of a blue Otter Pop. Wet: same, the gin becoming slightly more apparent. The papaya giving it a more tropical vibe. Drydown: papaya coming to the front, lemongrass hanging out in the back - grounding it, smells like a tropical drink for sure Dry: blueberry and papaya, it goes a bit sweeter, and the fizzyness goes away. Still smells like a blue Otter Pop to me. Overall, it's a fun, summertime smell.

    Whoopie Cushion

Wet: raspberry jam and patchouli. I would not ever think to put these together. Drydown: sweet orange is coming out now. Such a happy scent. Going more orange and patchouli now. Dry: raspberry sweetness is calmed down. Kinda reminds me of Jolly Rancher candy at this point. A grownup Jolly Rancher, I think the patchouli makes it feel more adult. I'm still a fan of mixing this with Chattering Teeth. If you can manage to get a decant of both, give it a shot.

    Pomegranate III

I can't believe I didn't realize this was a 'weenie! I would have figured this for a Yule. I got it from a lovely swapper, and didn't get around to reviewing it until now. In the bottle: pine and juniper? Christmas in a bottle. wet: pine, which i'm guessing is actually cedarwood. Pomegranate is there, but it's not the dominant note. Perhaps the bitter clover and tamarind in the background. Drydown: This is exciting! I've been looking for a replacement to B&BW Mulberry Spice. I couldn't wear it since it burned my skin, probably a skin reaction to the cinnamon oil they used. Anyway, this is smelling a lot like the base notes. I would need to add something sweet, like a cinnamon/berry to round it out. Or maybe just something cinnamon Dry: Definitely recommend this as a Mulberry Spice alternative. It does sweeten up a bit, and still reminds me of Christmastime. I don't think I can pinpoint any one note, but they blend together very nicely. Sadly, this was eaten by my skin, and after 2 hours, I couldn't smell anything.

    Chattering Teeth

This is a morpher! In the bottle: cherry ice-y with a bit of mint in the background Wet: cherry chapstick, wet ice, something green that may or may not be mint getting more powerful. Perhaps some ambergris, it reminds me of Cathode. I'm not sure what ambergris smells like by itself. Drydown: slowly getting sweeter on the maybe mint side which could be going soapy. Cherry seems to be disappearing. Maybe there's some spanish moss in here, it feels like it's going a bit aquatic. Dry: Sweetness, kinda reminds me of the sweet mint gum, but light on the mint. I don't pick up any cherry. It ends up smelling kinda like a vague sweet clean, with maybe a hint of musk in the background. It's beginning to remind me of the smell of my freshly-bathed nieces with wet hair. Just vague, fruity, clean, and sweet. I did enjoy mixing this with Whoopie Cushion. It ended up smelling like Sonic's Strawberry-Lemon slushy.

    Blood Pearl

Wet: sexy coconut with the orris making it seem even more tropical, with a slight wood note. Drydown: coconut fading into the background, turning more into a tropical musk. So good! Dry: I think I amp the musk, and I'm thinking the orris is reminding me of the plumeria flowers from Hawaii, perhaps with the help of the coconut. This is like plumeria from B&BW, except without that oversweetness or the weird tinge of being "too much". Or perhaps, B&BW Coconut Cream, but for grownups.

    Black Snowballs

I really amp the berries. I mostly get sweet, dark berries. It also seems to fade on me quickly, guess my skin eats it up. Overall, very pretty berries, with no hint of licorice. Drydown also reminds me of Chocolate, Merlot-infused Black Cherries, and Star Anise with just less chocolate.

    Edith Cushing

I hate to agree with a previous reviewer, but I think the comparison to B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar is pretty apt. A warm, vanilla musk is really accurate. I think this might be a tad more adult, ever so slightly less sweet.

    Lab Rat

In the bottle: smells mostly like leather Wet: leather Drydown: sweet, fruity leather, maybe something green in the back, something spicy or incensey just barely peeking out. Low throw, I really have to get close to examine it. I would not categorize this as smelling like an imp box since mine usually contains really overpowering scents that I dislike. Dry: leather is fading into the background. A general sense of sweet, powdery, incensey. An earlier description noted that you could wear this when you're feeling like you're not sure what to wear, and I agree. I feel like I have something that smells similar, but I can't place it.

    Hoîru

In the bottle: leather Wet: All the notes I can pick out. I think the bourbon vanilla, leather, coconut husk are the most apparent. Drydown: bourbon vanilla gets sweeter, wet tea leaves, leather dryness Dry: same as above. I guess melded together it ends up smelling like a sweet men's cologne. It's not bad for a leather lover, but it doesn't do much for me.

    Spider Witch

Wet: peanut butter!! and a tiny bit of patchouli. Kinda reminds me of Mouse Circus with a bit more sugar, salt, and some patchouli. Drydown: less sweet with the oudh and leather coming out more Dry: patchouli settles down, the musk and vanilla come out. It's like this dry-sweet, happy, peanut butter. Leather rounds it out nicely.

    La Dame au Cochon

Wet: bitter. super tart green apple, and a hint of juniper. Something medicinal or astringent. Perhaps some tree sap. Or pine needles. Dry: Definitely dry and piney. Apple and tobacco are hiding out since I seem to amp immortelle and juniper. Bummed this didn't work out for me.

    Die Begierde

Out of all the lupers, I think I was most impressed with this upon first sniff in the bottle. Keep in mind, I'm not much of a rose person, but the blend is so interesting and in your face. I think the cognac was a really interesting addition. Wet: wet sugared roses, carnations. Perhaps a tiny bit of wood in the background. Could be from whatever barrels the cognac was aged in Dry: sweet, woody rose. This doesn't hit me like most rose does where it gives me a headache, I think having it sweet is necessary for me to enjoy it. I do enjoy Solstice Scents Rose-Sugared Cardamom, and this is along those lines. This is a bit more rosy than Rose-Sugared Cardamom, but still really nice.

    An Interlude After Sake

Wet: fir needle Drydown: fir is tempered with the tea and oakmoss Dry: reminds me of a drying out Christmas tree. I think this would make a great atmo spray for the holidays. It's not too overpowering, and very homey smelling.

    Jinbari Nyûdô Bobo Dokisu

Wet: blueberry, sweet Drydown: blueberry with a bit of musk, which softens the sweetness. It ends up smelling like a grownup sweet smell, rather than a kid's perfume.

    De Vos’ Unicorn

Wet: lightly fruity, mallow, and peony Dry: same, and a bit powdery. Really lovely. This actually reminds me a lot of Solstice Scents Violet Mallow. I was a bit surprised that this doesn't contain violet. I guess it's the peony, musk, and apricot working together. This is a bit more complex than Violet Mallow, but it's good to know there's an alternative.

    I Too Beneath Your Moon

Wet: tart apple Dry: tart, green apple with a hint of lavender. Drydown: tiny hint of apple and vanilla, with the patchouli peeking out. Really nice and a fruity clean. Not a must-have for apple lovers.

    Miss Addie

Wet: neroli and blossoms, but mostly sandalwood. If the clove is there, it's very slight. I really have to take a deep breath to pick any of it up. Drydown: orchid and sandalwood, a little too floral for me. Dry: very pretty. sandalwood, clove, neroli, apple blossom are blended down, and orchid isn't too cloying. Overall, it smells like a slightly sweeter version of Snow White. Edit: was getting my reviews mixed up.

    Keichu Nyoetsu Warai Dogu

Wet: definitely picking up the coconut, and the incense slowly becomes more apparent. I think the champaca is making this smell fancier than typical incense. And the leather is rounding it out nicely in the background. Dry: fancy incense. No coconut, no leather. It's actually really nice, but it's not something I would want to smell like.
