    Fortuna Obsequens

I wish I picked up the same notes. I mostly get just rose with a hint of red musk in the background. Still too heady for me to enjoy.

    Fortuna Conservatrix

I get the peppercorn first and foremost. It's sweetened up slightly by the patchouli, but leans more masculine on me. It smells awesome on my husband. He seems to amp the pepper and patchouli, which smells great on him!

    The Thales Eclipse

In the sixth year a battle took place in which it happened, when the fight had begun, that suddenly the day became night. And this change of the day Thales the Milesian had foretold to the Ionians laying down as a limit this very year in which the change took place. The Lydians however and the Medes, when they saw that it had become night instead of day, ceased from their fighting and were much more eager both of them that peace should be made between them. – Herodotus, on a prediction of by Thales of Miletus Red amber and leather, patchouli, champaca flower, frankincense, oudh, castoreum accord, and black musk. In the bottle: chocolate and herbs? Drydown: leather and black musk ooze out from the back. There's a bit of pungentness from the castoreum accord and a hint of champaca flower. It's going a high-pitched bitter on me. Dry: I seem to amp all the wrong notes on this one. I'm thinking the castoreum is just not working for my skin because everything else in this list is fine on me. I'm hoping that someone with a different skin chemistry can help the notes blend together better. Edit: Hours later, the funk has worn off. Now it smells like a nice, incensey light leather sitting around a heart of amber. It took quite a while to get here, but it is pretty when it eventually calms down. Maybe I'll try this again tomorrow.

    Fortuna Populi Romani

Initially, it comes off smelling like incense, the things you associate with a headshop. As it dries, it gets sweeter, with the vanilla and leather coming out to play with the patchouli and sandalwood more. I don't know that I'd say it's something that everyone can wear. I can see some of the gourmand fans getting tired from the sandalwood or patchouli quickly. I guess it depends on what your skin does with these notes. The leather is more of a worn, brown leather, so everything has this smoky, dusty sweetness. I like it, I can see this being amazing on the right person.

    Fortuna Restitutrix

At first, the clove was really strong with the rest of the elements. So, it smelled like hanging out in a fancy Italian restaurant around Christmas. As it's dried down, it's taken on a sweeter quality. I think the olive blossom, similar to the note in St. Louis #1 rounds out the leather, and it does remind me of a fancy car with leather interior owned by a woman who wears expensive perfume. But not the expensive perfume that is headache inducing. I guess I amp the olive blossom, because I would not consider this a leather or a clove smell. I have to get really close to pick up any clove.

    Fortuna Respiciens

This reminds me of a seasonal chapstick you'd pick up around Christmas. I feel like the pomegranate is too sweet, the mint fades quickly, and juniper just yells Christmas. I think would make a good room scent for the holidays. Doesn't really work with my body chemistry.

    Fortuna Redux

I agree with Mrs. Z. As it sits, the tobacco gets lighter, and the jasmine has a somewhat soapy quality. I would still consider this mainly a tobacco scent, though.

    Orion

Love, love, love this. Snuggly tobacco with a hint of leather. Definitely had to get a second bottle of this. The cedar kinda evens it out so it's earthy enough that things don't seem so sharp to me.

    2017: Crystal Phoenix

Earthly patchouli and cedar. The tobacco rounds it out nicely. I feel like this is somewhat similar to Nasty Woman, at least with my skin chemistry. It's like this patchouli darkened by tobacco, sweetened up with bourbon vanilla. It's great for feeling powerful and yet feminine at the same time.

Figs and Fig Scents - alone and in combos

How funny, that's my new favorite tobacco. I struggled to smell the fig in it. I have a giant fig tree in my yard, and I still don't know what they smell like. I could not pick it up out of a lineup. It's just a generic sweet fruit smell to me.
  11. What is this? A honey that doesn't go icky on me? Incredible. Cocoa butter and the smell you associate with goat's milk, honey, oatmeal soap. It's got a low throw, and doesn't seem to last long. If you're a fan of that soap, I definitely recommend this, or if you adore the way cocoa butter lotion smells, but you don't want something super powerful. This kinda reminds me of a sweeter, less over-powering version of Adrastea.

    2008: Sugar Phoenix

Yep, lavender candy is a good description for this. It's sweet without being oversweet. I get a hint of powder, which I guess is the musk on me. And the lavender adds a dimension of clean to this, too. This makes me think of Sunday Morning church, and I'm not sure why. I guess the innocence.

    A Cute Kid

Near the end of last semester, we arrived to pick her up from school and she was hanging out in her classroom drawing pictures on the white board. Of course I joined in and wrote funny looking kid with an arrow pointing at her. She changed it and wrote a cute kid, and gave me her big giant smile as if to say I WIN! Pale lavender and Tahitian vanilla with a smudge of chalk dust and a pop of strawberry bubblegum. This is such a fun blend! I didn't expect to like this. It reminds me of the bubblegum kids' shampoo that my niece's had. It's light, sweet, fruity, and bubblegummy, that somehow manages to smell clean. This doesn't morph too much on me, either. This is a fun weekend scent. The lavender is pretty light, but I think it's providing the clean base. This is just a happy scent that I'd recommend to "clean laundry" fans. After drydown, the bubblegum calms down, but still makes the lavender/vanilla fun. Medium wear length, medium throw.

    Aries 2016

I can smell all of the individual ingredients, and they blend so well together. I think Little Bird nailed it, it's musky and peppery, with hints of sandalwood and dragon's blood. Not my usual kinda thing, but nice nonetheless.

    Singularly At Ease

I love this, it just doesn't last as long as I'd like. Creamy coconut and berry scones. Which is funny because I had forgotten the notes when I tried it, and could have sworn it had tobacco in it. I guess the tea and rum translates that into tobacco in my nose. It does morph a bit, and is coconut heavy to my nose, at first. The berry does becomes vague, and hard to pick out. The tea comes forward later, and ends up smelling like sweet tobacco, and the coconut chills the F down. Overall, I think it's a great scent for foodie lovers, I guess it just depends on your chemistry. Opt for a decant before buying a bottle blind .

    Morana

I honestly don't know what I was expecting. I think I was reading reviews, and got some expectations mixed up. I think galahad nailed it. I can get the snow note from Snow Glass Apples, but it stops there. I wouldn't get this in comparison to SGA, hoping for something similar. It smells clean, which I guess is the pine. The apple eventually vanishes, and the sweet snow note lays thickly over the pine. Overall, it's okay, but does nothing for me. And I don't pick up any Rosewood.

    Cassiopeia

Yeah, I'm with Lucchesa. I was hoping for wine, but it went pomegranate on me. Or, like that super cheap Manischewitz wine. Just kinda cheap, generic sweet berry. I'm not getting any of the lovely musk or oude. I'm glad this is going to a better home.

    2007: Wood Phoenix

I admit that I got this completely for the Snow Glass Apples part. It doesn't feel too busy to me. I think the wine gets amped over everything else, so it's like this really nice apple red wine. Unfortunately, it doesn't stick around very long, I think my skin slowly ate it, and I got maybe 4 or 5 hours out of it.

    2005: Leather Phoenix

I can smell the gin in the bottle, but on my skin it's leather and chocolate. Sweet, milk chocolate with well-worn leather. I sense the tiniest hint of bubbles (perhaps the lab's champagne note), but I'm not getting any overwhelming juniper note. Super nice! I'd recommend this for chocolate lovers, but I think leather lovers would be disappointed, unless they super amp leather.

    Huntress

I bought a bottle in December, so they must have fixed whatever was causing the welts. I haven't had a reaction. Wet: apple pie. Dry: some of the cake and sweetness is coming out, and somehow mellowing the apple. It's like a nice, light, vanilla and cinnamon-apple cake. It's super comforting to me. I don't find it overpowering at all.

    Spinning on Graves

I agree with grassy. I don't think this smelled anything like I was expecting. It was more astringent than I was expecting thanks to the lavender. And it seemed like the clove wanted to take over. I don't know enough about Dorian to say whether this is a must-have for Dorian lovers, but it's worth trying.

    My Little Themysciran Princess

This one was disappointing to me. It smells lovely in the bottle, it smells lovely on my skin, and it smells lovely after it's dried. It just doesn't hang around for very long. The scents happens to get lighter and lighter the longer it's on. After 4 hours, you couldn't tell I put anything on.

    A Wild and Naughty Girl

I picked up mostly the tobacco, with the patchouli and chocolate in the background. They manage to ground the tobacco and make it earthier. But not dirty, nor is it a sweet tobacco. It's a must-have for any tobacco lovers.

    Gingerbread Haunted House

I really wanted to like this. The first 10 minutes, it definitely smells like gingerbread with some candy laying around. About an hour in, the candy becomes more apparent, definitely picking up candy corn. It's really hard to pick up after 2 hours. I can't tell if my skin ate it, or my chemistry just doesn't like it. It ended up with the fake, plastic vanilla smell so many other people mention.

    Lick It With Consent (2014)

Lick It is back, as minty and sweet as ever, and now you can lick it for a good cause: proceeds from every sale of Lick It With Consent will be donated to RAINN. I'll be first. Had my husband try this on this morning. In the bottle: sweet and minty. Wet: Wow, peppermint. He kept going on about how cold his skin felt. Dry: The peppermint isn't as strong, it's pretty much faded. The sweetness is coming out, but it's not a feminine sweetness. Kinda like the sweet mint gum. It seems really unisex. The throw isn't very strong, either. Edit: We tried this again. Nice and minty at the front, but the dry is so much sweeter on my husband. Sweet to the point of smelling feminine on him. I liked it, but he thought it made him smell like a girl. A bottle I'll give up to the swap list.
