  1. Ooooh! Mandarin, touches of pine, patchouli and resin. Mmmm, yes. This smells like a different darker and more resiny version of Pallas Athene, which is one of my favorite blends. This is the masculine version of Pallas Athene with the addition of pine and patchouli. Good throw and wear length.

Would consider at least a partial bottle.

  2. 7-year aged patchouli glimmering with tuberose, jasmine samba, lily of the valley, opalescent white moss, and white musk.

A ton of patchouli, touches of jasmine and lily of the valley, with an edge of musk. Oooh. The patchouli here reminds me to Silkybat, and sort of also reminds me to the patchouli in Banshee Beat. If you love yourself some patchouli, give this one a whirl. Good throw and wear length.

  3. Jasmine, frankincense, saffron and orange flower. This one smells strongly of resins on the background, with notes of jasmine, saffron and with a burst of orange flower. Oriental floral is how I'd best categorize this. Good throw and wear length.

  4. [No additional description given.]

Chocolate Slush starts off with a big fudgey blast that reminds me to the Vesuvian Lava Cakes prototype, but then is quickly overtaken by a snowy note that is very similar to what is found in Frosty Silkybat. It's icy, snowy, with touches of fudgey chocolate and vanilla. I think this would make a great room scent. Great throw and wear length.

  5. Lemon, rose geranium, and ambergris. This is a citrusy aquatic over a bed of rose geranium. It's cool, watery, and floral. Good throw and wear length.

This one is feminine, and full of lunar power. I can see this being used in a TAL/ceremonial aspect.

  6. Okay, so this blend is full of notes that I don't typically like: well-worn leather, cedar, and white-sage. So color me surprised, when I test them on my nativity day, and find that I quite like it. It's both delicate and robust, gender neutral, herby mossy but with enough green and woods to make it well-rounded. It's very well blended, and I'm actually quite pleased with the blend for my Sun sign. Modest throw and wear length.

I'd definitely think about getting a bottle of this one.

ETA: the drydown is an aquatic mossy. I like it.

  7. Okay, so I received two In Reilig Oran prototypes, plus a tiny tester of the released version for comparison purposes.

In Reilig Oran v1: This one has more "grass" in it. On wet, I swear I smelled something that smelled like marigolds. But on the drydown, its sweeter and grassier. Maybe even a touch of bluebells? This one is definitely much more close to Host of Air. More throw than the released version. Less stone. When compared to the released version, the released version smells slightly more sour and darker.

In Reilig Oran v2: I think there's more moss in this version. I get a more 'aquatic' feel. There's also a sweet airy note in it, which on version 1 is giving a HUGE throw, and there was a bit of citrus in it. But yeah, a slightly more citrusy mossy aquatic version.
